  3. Thank You for your awesome advice I will keep that in mind, Thanks!

It takes time. The band is a much slower loss than bypass. I had my 3rd fill in January... and I am just NOW starting to feel it and lose weight! Doc assures me I'm on track and progressing as normal. He reminds me that it can take 2-3 years to lose what I want with the band...

Up until these past couple of weeks I had no idea what the band was supposed to feel like when it did its thing. I am suddenly truly full after less than a cup of food... I haven't finished a meal on my little toddler sized plate in a week, and I'm not hungry for hours. I thought the band wasn't working for me until this started. Hang in there... it's slow, but study after study proves that losing it slowly is healthier and makes it more likely to stay off!!!

  4. Thank You so much for your advice I will take you up on that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)rolleyes.gif

Did you try to increase your fiber? After my second fill - I finally got to feel what it was like to get something stuck after I thought I didn't have enough in the fill. However, my nutrionist said to increase your fiber..such as an apple and it will give you a fuller feeling that will last longer...also something like oatmeal for Breakfast --has a longer period to break down. Look at what you are eatting and add some good Snacks like fruit in between. You just don't want to get to many fills because it will eventually hit its max and you do not want that to happen too soon- as this can take years to hit your goal and maintain it..and later on you might really need the fill. Just some of my thoughts.

  5. Thank You Shirley advice to me,,,,,, I know have a better understanding of what to expect.... I just think in the mushy stages and liquid it seems can tolerate a lot...... talk to you ,,,,Ronna

We all know that the Band is wrapped around the upper part of the stomach, and a small pouch is then formed for us to use.

Now the understandings, and misunderstandings are like this.

When you are banded, you are on liquids, and shakes, etc.. "REASON" so you heel well. Then comes the mushy stage, now your pouch only holds so much, measure it if you have to, and don't over do it. When it comes to solids Protein is the best thing you can eat. It's good for you, and if you add just a little bit of Carb to your meal. The carb is a kicker for the Protein.< /p>

Know comes the hunger that I know, and I had to deal with. "THAT'S WHY EVERYONE SAY'S IT DOESN'T CURE YOUR HUNGER..."

This is a step after step with fills. "adjustments." Depending on the size of your band, and how much is added at a time, every time after the first or second fill, you start to feel more restriction. One day you will go in for a fill. When this happens you lose your appetite, and could really care less if you eat or not. But make sure you keep up on your protein, and chewable vitamins. "WE ALL ARE ON FLINSTONESS COMPLETE, THEY CONTAINE CHOLINE" That's a plus. It took me 5 years to figure this out. On my last fill,,,, that is exactly what happened to me... So yes there is a difference in the band, but it is further down the line. You will get to it, it's just time, and money for the Dr.. So be patient you will get there.

  6. Why is that......... Why do we have to wait a half hour to start drinking after we eat.... IDK this all confusing me..... I had life Cereal this morningrolleyes.gif and I was fine... I thought I was to be full after two bites..... HELP

Ok. It's bad but if you get back on track it will be ok. However if you continue to graze you will probably not lose weight the way you want.

Being hungry will always make you think about food but once you are past purée you may find that the solid Proteins will satisfy you more.

Come on Ronna! You can do this. When you are hungry in between meals try drinking some Crystal Light. You can't eat for at least a half hour after that... I use that rule to help police myself very often.
