I just bought some Viactiv soft chews from Sams club...and let me tell you they taste just like camel bites. They taste really good and not chalky tasting at all. There are about 120 chewy bites in a bag for $11. Hope this helps

I was banded on Monday, and I am feeling really good today. I am having little to no pain and very little gas. I am really happy about this decision and to date since my pre op appointment in Nov. I have lost 14 lbs :D . I am on my way to the me that I know i can be...more healthier, fit. LOVING MY NEW LIFE...

I agree you should ask your doc. I am on the 8th day of my liquid diet and I to am allowed only Clear Liquids and sf items like popsicles, crystal light and Protein shakes..in addition to clear broths all that i want. I am having some serious headaches due to not eating so i may have a little turkey or someting high in protein, but nothing with sugar and i do stick to my liquids during the day..I must say that I don't do this everyday, but i have found that just a little bit of something helps...stay strong and we all need the support...I know i do.

Ok I am on a 2 week liquid diet and down to my 6th day...and I am having some serious food cravings...I have been strictly doing my clear liquid diet for 4 days, had a small portion on Turkey day and then back to the diet..It is hard, but I am wondering how long does it really take to shrink you liver. I know that this is a new journey and I am up for the change that is coming, but eating nothing for 2 weeks but sf Jello, popsicles, and drinking broth, Protein Shakes, and crystal light is giving me the worse head aches..
I have 8 days to go and my surgery is on Dec. 6 so it is all down hill and I will do my best to stay to the liquids for the remainder of these days...
Nothing that we really want comes easy in life...stay strong everyone...let's support one another thru this part of our new journey....

Well I am in the 5th day of my 2 week clear liquid diet and I to am having some bad headaches and I feel really tired due to no calories. I do eat all the sugar free Jello, bomb pops, and as much clear broth that I can stand. And that helps to curve the hungry feeling. I must say that I did have a small plate on thanksgiving, but i am back to liquids today. Stay strong and good luck.

Well I have started a liquid diet per say this week so that I can get my mind and body back adjusted to the liquids that I will be having to live on for 2 weeks. I know that i can do this i have done Slim fast diet before so I know that it is all a matter of training yourself to do it. Plus I like to look forward to the future..this pre op diet is only for 2 weeks.

Good good good for you! How exciting! Question, how much weight did you loose in the pre op diet? I am going in for my 5th month weight in this coming Monday and I don't think I have lost enough weight to satify the insurance company. I have BCBSI have not started my diet as of today, but I have lost about 13 pounds on my own.

I'm set for Dec. 2nd. I agree early xmas present to myself. I have had a couple conversations at work about my change. One person told me I was crazy! I told her I was happy I wasn't doing it for her. My life, my rules and my change. Can't wait!:tt2:That seems to be so common among people who don't understand the whole thing. :smile2: But once you loss the weight and start looking fly they will be the first to say "you look good" I have had this same response, but I am like you..I am doing this for me and noone else you don't have to like just keep your opinions to yourself...by the way congrats on your early xmas present

Congrats!! I'm still waiting for my PCP to get that letter back to my surgeon's office. It's amazing how many times "they didn't get the fax" from my surgeon. Why are PCPs so hard to deal with? Bah!Anyway, that is amazing and I'm very jealous!! Best of luck to you.
yeah i went through that also, i sent 2 faxes and both times they said they did not get it....so i ended up taking the paper work with me when I went to a regular appointment and had my pcp write it out at that point....
-
Ok I have done my last test (a sleep study) that is required by ny doc. and now I am just waiting for the approval from insurance...So how long did it take before you got your answer?
-
Thanks everyone for your suggestions:thumbup:. I will be picking up a few sample's to see which is the best for me. Thanks again.
-
Hello everyone, I saw the dietician and the exercise coach today and she suggested that I purchase some sample's of the Protein Shakes to see which one I like the best. So I was just wanting to know which one's did you all find to be tasty or maybe I should say tolerable.

Hey Lap band friends, I had my first consultation on the 17th of Aug. which went well and as I was finishing with my visit with the doc...the nurse came in and asked me if I had the time to take my phys. eval. :smile2: (which it takes about 3-4 months just to get the appointment set). Talk about pumped :thumbup:one more step closer. I also have appointments set for my sleep study, dietician, and exercise coach.

I had my 1st visit with the doctor today and I was shown two types of bands one the realize and the lap band...so which one did you chose.
-
I was feeling this way just yesterday, and I just had my first consultation with my doc. today and it was very easy, nothing to be nervous about he just simply goes over the procedure and any questions that you may have. So be sure that if you have any questions any at all be sure to ask the doc. So just know that the first visit is painless and you all will be fine....
-
I have my first visit with the doctor tommorrow and I am excited and nervous...I don't know why but did anyone else feel like this on their very first doctor's visit...
-
Welcome to the board...and I feel like you I want to get this done ASAP...I did attend my seminar already and it was very informational from the docs. point of view but be ready with any questions that you may have as they are really open to that. I hope your mother's surgery goes well also...be sure to keep us updated on her as well as your journey....

I have only been banded for 2 weeks and I am walking a mile on my treadmill about 4 times a week. I will not add more until I get the ok from my doc, but I am really ready to kick it up and drop these pounds a lot faster.
Any new advice will be great...
