It was around day 4 that I was at the point that you are at now. I was wondering what in the world had I done to myself. It gets better. I wouldn't change getting the Lap-band done for the world. I'm so glad that I did it now.

I had mine 3 weeks after surgery.

Congrats Monica, I wish I was down 45lbs. I am beginning to feel that I'll never get there.I feel like I'm just on another diet. I don't feel my band at all.
I've noticed during the day I can feel pretty tight but as the evening rolls around my hunger kicks in and I'm not as tight and I'm fighting cravings. I'm not much of a sweet eater but last night I was craving cake. I didn't have any but I hate that feeling. I had a portion of vanilla wafers (8 wafers) but still craving.
I feel very frustrated and I'm not happy at all. I'm beginning to wonder if I will really meet my goal.
Sorry you had a bad episode Beachbunny. I hate throwing up so I try to avoid that. I have had a stuck episode and it was painful to me also. I felt it all down my back.
What to do? what to do?
Thanks.
You will get there. I got very discouraged a few weeks ago. I actually gained 5 pounds over 2 days, and I was horrified. I couldn't figure out what I had done that was different to cause me to gain weight. I still don't know what I did to cause the weight gain. I just know that I didn't want to do a "diet". I was also wondering if I would ever get to my goal. There are days that I still do wonder that.

I live in the DFW area, and I'm a stay at home mom to 4 kids. Who gets to go back to college next year when kid number 3 starts pre-k.

well it happened , i lost my meal last night.....maybe i ate too fast , although i may be swollen still from my fill on monday. ughhhhhh it was yuck.I'm not looking forward to doing that. I hope you are better today.

I take Fiorcet. Amazingly though, I haven't had one single Migraine since surgery. I was having 2 - 4 a month before surgery.

I had my second fill today. He put in .75 cc to give me 4.25 cc in my band. I have lost 17.5 pounds since August 23. I was so happy with that. That puts me down a total of 45 pounds since June 30.
I have forgotten how yucky the liquid diet is. Tomorrow is pureed foods, and Saturday is mushies. I can't wait till Sunday when I can eat actual food.

I'm 5'8", and I was told it needed to be over 80.

I swear it is like my body has finally said fine. I've lost 12 pounds in the last 2 weeks. I was so excited. I can actually see a difference, and I felt my hip bone this morning when I was laying down. It didn't have a lot of fat around it.
Not only that, I was actually able to wrap a beach towel around me, and it overlapped.
Amazing what makes us happy.

Got my fill by the DR. he apologized to me and i accepted. He came in just for me. He showed his nurse that sometimes it will be at a angle . He stuck me only once and got it .2CC's. How many cc's did all you first fill people get?I got 3.5 ccs with my first fill. They put in there as much as your band will let them. They do it under fluro every time. They did say that each time you go back in for more, that you usually only get half of what you had the previous time. On Thursday, I'm expecting to get somewhere between 1 - 1.5 ccs.
-
Congratulations to you!!!!!

I finally feel like I've made it over the hump. The hump where my body was wanting to know what in the world I had done to it, so it was holding onto every calorie that I ate.
-
Going back to the Dr tonight ..Wish me luck ! he will be there for this attempted fill.Good Luck. I go Thursday for my 2nd fill. I'm looking forward to it.

Here is a YEA! from me to you! CONGRATULATIONS!

Was that your first or second fill?
:smile2:

I had to have that done also a week after surgery, but mine was less than 1 cc. It made a huge difference. Glad you are feeling better.

:thumbup:I just put on a pair of size 24 shorts, and they were to BIG!!!!! I can't believe it. I wasn't able to wear those shorts a few weeks ago because they were too small. I guess it is time to clean out the closet of all of the 28's, 30's, and 32's in it. :smile2:

I got the dvds for $72.80 including shipping and taxes. I paid around $34 up front, and then have two more monthly installments of $19.95.
I've got 4 kids with 2 of them being in school, and they both have after school activities. There are days that I just don't have the time to get to the gym, and I figured this was a good way to get my exercise in.

I had my first fill on Aug 23.
I'm not really all that hungry. I can only eat 1/2 - 3/4 cup of food now, so I don't know how it will be once I get my second fill. It actually worries me.
If I didn't force myself to have something before 1130, I probably would skip Breakfast all together. Today, I had a shake around 830, and I got busy. Looked up, and it was 2 PM. I hadn't had lunch or a snack, and I wasn't even hungry. I don't start to get "hungry" until around 3 or 4 in the afternoon. Don't know how much of that is head hunger or body hunger.
-
I only have a 10 cc band too, and I had 160 pounds to lose. I've already gotten 3.5 cc in it. I go next Thursday to get another fill.

All the classes around here have 50+ people in them and the instructors (Ha!) do not take the time to show new people how to do it. They just expect you to watch and eventually pick it up. Well for $10 for an hour of Zumba, that's pathetically inadequate. I'm not one of those who can just pick it up. I need it broken down into small bites and then bring it all together. I'm not a professional dancer. As far as I can tell from observing the 6 zumba instructors in my area, they 'teach' zumba as a way of doing what they already enjoy and making beaucoup bucks doing it because they spend the entire hour doing Zumba without even once showing someone who's having difficult how to do it. I was sooo frustrated at the Zumba classes.
I plan on getting the Zumba game to go with the new Xbox Kinect we have preordered (releases in November) so I can do it at home and learn at my own pace. If I understand correctly, the Kinect will also tell me when I'm not doing a move right...unlike the DVDs.
.
The DVDs actually have 1 whole dvd devoted to teaching you the steps. I did this the first couple of times, and i was good to go.
