    food poisoning? flu? slip?

I was sick to from Friday to today. I couldn't keep any thing down at all. Thankfully, I still had my anti-naseau medicine from my surgery. I kept using that and drinking. Today has been the first day that I've actually been able to eat. My stomach felt like somebody had punched me.

    August Rush in bandland!

I'm so frustrated. Friday I weighed 269. Today I weigh 274. I have been sick since Friday, so I know it wasn't what I ate. Maybe it was what I didn't eat. All I had on Friday was 1/4 of a baked potato. I couldn't keep any thing in my system all weekend until last night. Then I didn't eat very much because my stomach was still crampy feeling. Any ideas on what to do?

    August Rush in bandland!

I had my 3rd fill 10 days ago, and I can tell a difference. I eat a smaller amount of food, and I stay full longer. He told me that I needed a fill when I went in, so he gave me 1 cc instead of the normal .5 cc.

    August Rush in bandland!

I hope so for you. I just want everybody to do wonderful with their bands. Even on those days where I want to bang my head on the wall, I'm still happy that I did this. I hopped on the scales this morning. I haven't weighed since Monday, and they spoke to me. They told me I had lost 4.5 pounds since Monday. My daughter was looking at me like I had lost my mind because I was so happy. That 4.5 pounds put me at 269. I can't even remember the last time I have seen my weight start with a 26.

I want to bang my head against a wall. I've hit a plateau. I've lost and gained the same 3 pounds for the last 2.5 weeks. I just want to be rid of them permanently.

Amanda - I hope your fill does as much good for you as mine did for me. I can tell a huge difference from Wednesday till today. Beachbunny - How are you doing today?

    August Rush in bandland!

Has it really been 3 months since being banded? It doesn't seem possible. I can still tell a difference since my fill on Thursday. I start training for running a 5k tomorrow. I never dreamed that I would want to run one. Glad that everybody seems to be doing pretty good.

    August Rush in bandland!

I don't know if it is a swollen stomach, or that big of a difference in my fill. I can tell a difference. I pureed some broccoli n cheese soup for supper last night. I put a cup in the blender. I was only able to eat 1/2 of it. That was after realizing at 4 that I hadn't had any thing to "eat" all day either. The only reason I realized it was because I started feeling whoozy. I'm hoping that this fill holds out until January 6. That is my next appointment. They can get me in earlier if need be, but I'm hoping I don't have to.

    Turned away for cheating

All of the pre-op diets are so different. Mine was shakes during the day and soup for supper, so I'm thinking your soup that you ate isn't going to harm you. You have others on here that were allowed a sensible meal at dinner. You have lost weight, and that is what the doctor is looking for. You even have people on here that don't even have to do a pre-op diet. My surgeon told me that they have done over 3000 procedures, and they have never had any body turned away. ETA - Now having said that, don't go crazy. Stick to your diet. It will help you in the end to stick to it. I know my pre-op diet helped the cravings for sweets and carbs to go away.

    August Rush in bandland!

I had my fill today. I had only lost 6.5 pounds since my last fill. I was so disappointed in myself. The doctor asked me how I was doing, and I told him that I was disappointed in myself. He laughed and told me that I at least lost weight. That is correct, but it just wasn't enough for me. My scales are now back on track with the doctor's scales, so that made me instantly gain 3 pounds. That wasn't pleasant. That made me even more sad. Then there was a woman getting an unfill who was banded April 21. She had lost 127 pounds. I couldn't believe it. She said that all she was doing was following the diet.

    August Rush in bandland!

I have my 3rd fill tomorrow. I wasn't sure if I was going to do it, but I decided to go ahead. I'm worried that I've gained even more weight. The stress of my husband losing his job has gotten to me.

    August Rush in bandland!

Stress has invaded my life over the last week, and I found myself turning to food. Bad, bad, bad thing to do. Thankfully, I still have restriction, so it could have been worse. I only ended up gaining 1.5 pounds, but today is the start of a new week. I just have to figure out something else to do when the stress gets to be to much. I started out with a Protein Shake, and it can only get better from here. I put the kids' candy up. If it sits on the counter top, I have a tendency to grab a piece. Debating on how long I will let it sit in top of the pantry before I just trash it.

    August Rush in bandland!

Flew to California on Saturday, and I was so happy. I didn't have any spillage into the seat next to me. I was flying with my family, so the kids were sitting beside me. I didn't have to raise the arm of my seat to make for a more comfortable ride. I was also able to sit in a bathtub without hitting the sides. My MIL was able to hug me and reach all the way around. These people don't eat but 2 meals a day though. Breakfast and something around 2 to 4 PM. It is really causing havoc with my diet.

    August Rush in bandland!

Tara - I'm scheduled for a fill on the 4th, and I've been debating on rather or not to get it done either. I will hold off on making the final decision until the 2nd or 3rd, but as of right now, I'm pretty sure that I'm not going to get one. I think I'm at my "sweet spot" right now. I can go 4 hours without feeling hungry. I can actually go longer. I just know that I need to eat. The amount of food that I'm able to eat has dropped since my last fill. I don't want to be any tighter. I went to Kohl's last night, and I'm having a mental block. I can not believe that I've lost enough weight to fit in smaller sizes. I never liked to try on clothes, but I know that I need to because right now I have no idea what size I wear. All I know is that 24s are getting way to big. I can take 24s off without unbuttoning them and pull them right back up. Last night I wouldn't try on any thing because I was afraid that they would be too small, so I ended up not getting any thing. I need to get over this block because I'm going to be running around naked soon.

    Delicious low carb homemade pizza!

I'm going to try this tonight on a bagel thin.

    August Rush in bandland!

I wasn't doing any thing different than I already was. I had a major stall of nearly 2 weeks, and then the weight started coming off quickly. It was a pound a day for 2 weeks, and now I'm back to 2 - 4 pounds a week. Which I'm happy with. I'm happy with 1 -3, but I will take 2 - 4. I eat on average around 900 - 1100 calories per day. If I go any lower than 900, I will not lose and actually gain. I keep my fat as low as possible, but on average I would say it is around 40. Carbs are kept below 100. I love my carbs, but I'm perfectly fine and content below 100. Some days are 30 - 50, and some days are closer to 100.

    August Rush in bandland!

We were on page 3, so I will bump us up. Need to pack today to get ready for our trip on Saturday. It is always fun to pack for 6 people. Going to visit my husband's family in California, and I wanted to lose 50 pounds before we went. I met my goal. I am back to losing 2 - 3 pounds a week instead of the 1 pound every day. Sure do miss the 1 pound a day, but I knew that wasn't going to last. How is everybody else doing?
  18. Day of - liquids Next day - purees Day 3 - mushies Day 4 - whatever I can tolerate
  19. I think all doctors are different, but I know that I am allowed only protein shakes and broth the day of a fill. They will not fill you if you had any solids at all that day.

    August Rush in bandland!

In the 2 months since being banded, what have you learned. 1. I've learned that I enjoy trying to figure out how to make my favorite foods low-fat and have them taste good. I actually try to see how healthy I can make the food. 2. I've learned that whole wheat pastas and brown rice taste so much better than the other stuff. 3. I have found that I love to try new things, and I make every body else try them with me.
  21. The only thing I regret is not getting it done sooner. I didn't sail through post-op. The first 5 days wasn't pleasant, but it was so very much worth it. I'm loving my band.
  22. Help me out here please. I can't do sandwich meat (cold cuts). They get stuck every single time. I've tried taking smaller bites, and nothing seems to work. I used to make enough food the night before to just have warm ups the next day. That dries out the food to much, so I only make enough for supper now. Tuna fish and canned chicken are also things that get easily stuck. Today I broke down and toasted a piece of bread and put some Peanut Butter on it. Then drank a glass of milk about 30 minutes later. I don't like Soup. I never have. I feel like I'm being difficult, but I really am out of ideas. I stay at home with my 2 and 3 year old, and I don't want to make a big meal every time lunch comes around.

    Emotional wreck?

I think I cried at the drop of a hat the first few weeks. I chalked it all up to the big life style change that I just made. I would go from excitement, to disgust (at myself for getting to how fat I was), to being afraid that I would fail, to sadness. That was all in the space of 10 minutes.
