I had Prime when I had my surgery in August, and it cost me $25 total plus my psych eval and nutritionist cost of $225. I've had 3 fills, and I haven't been charged a dime. We did switch back over to Reserve Select since Hubby is back to reserve status after a deployment. I haven't used that yet for a fill, but I do know that the doctor's office is not allowed to charge you over what they have negotiated with Tricare. We have used the RS for about 4 years, and it works the same as Standard. I had a hospital try to charge me over what they had negotiated with Tricare, and Tricare contacted them telling them they couldn't.

Congratulations! -
My brother's doctor told him that if he could eat bread, he needs a fill. I had never heard that before, but I can't eat bread unless it is toasted. Then I only eat 1 piece. ETA: I have a difficult time eating cold cuts to.

Mine was less than 48 hours after the surgeons office submitted it.

I found that if I start my morning off with a protein shake instead of something to eat, that the entire day I eat better. -

9.5 pounds lost last week. I'm so excited with that. I hadn't taken my water pill in over a week, so I know that part of that loss was water weight. It was just so good to see such a huge number. I worked hard last week, and I watched every thing that I ate and drank. -

I remember having to take deep breaths for a few weeks. I still every once in a while have to take deep breaths. -

I think it is knowing what I did that sabotaged me is the key. I got back on track yesterday. I told my lap-band buddy at church what I had done wrong. I told my support group what I had done wrong. Yesterday, I did every thing that I was supposed to do. I felt much better about myself yesterday than I did in all of the holidays. What is funny is that I felt smaller at the end of the day. I even stayed away from here because I was embarrassed. I will not let the weight gain defeat me. That was the old me, and I would have given up. This is the new me. I will WIN. I was up on base doing my grocery shopping yesterday, and the commissary has started selling Pure Protein Shakes in the can. These are actually good, but the only place I had seen them before was at the Vitamin Shoppe and HEB. They average any where between $1.50 - $2.00 per can. They had them for less than a $1 a can on base. I got me a couple of boxes of them at that price. Plus all of my new Leslie Sansone DVDs have shipped from Amazon. They should be here Thursday. I can't wait to get them. -

I'm such a loser. I gained 6 pounds over the last 3 weeks. I'm so disgusted with myself. I didn't exercise for nearly a month, and I made horrible food choices. I got to drinking sweet tea again. That is a big no no. I think I counted one day where I had 4 glasses, and we are not talking small glasses. I was drinking a cup of coffee a day with sugar and cream. That is another big no no. I stepped on the scale this morning, and I wanted to cry. Maybe that was the motivation that I needed to get back on track. The only thing I can do is get back on track. Today is a new day and a fresh start. I've already done my exercises for the day. I've already got supper in the crockpot. We are going to have chicken tortilla Soup. I dumped all of the sweets that have been in the house for the holidays in the trash. I'm bound and determined that this is a new year, and that I will lose weight. I don't want to be the fat mom any more. -
Liquids after an Unfill???

I was told no. That the only time you have to do liquids is after a fill. -

Yea!!!! I hope it last longer than 2 weeks for you also. Last week was a horrible food week for me. We had company all week, and I didn't eat right at all. I was just happy that I hadn't gained a single ounce last week. This week though I'm going to be back on track. I've already got my food menu planned for the week. -

I love how my body loses weight. That is sarcasm. It is either 1 pound a week or a bunch in a week. I lost 7 pounds from last Monday till today. I was so excited because that means I finally broke out of the 270's. I've been lingering in them for 6 weeks. I want to be at 259 by Christmas, and I'm sitting at 264 right now. I think I'm going to make it. I had so many people at church yesterday asking me how much weight I had lost. It really made me feel good about myself. -
Do you eat peanut butter??
tylee72198 replied to hokiemama's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Since I have found peanut butter that you grind yourself at the store, I won't eat the stuff that comes prepackaged for you. That stuff is the best. I will eat a teaspoon full for a snack. -
Ever since I was banded, I have craved pickles. Not just any craving, but I can eat a whole gallon of them in a week. Some days I crave them more than others. What is in pickles, besides sodium, that my body might be missing? I'm happy that it is pickles and not carbs or sweets. It might be the sodium that I'm missing. I'm not exactly the world's biggest fan of salt. I don't crave bananas, so I don't think it is potassium.

Lost 2 pounds last week. It took me a month to lose the 9 pounds I had gained the last week of October and the first week of November. Stepping on those scales this morning though gave me renewed strength to keep fighting. That was an emotional victory for me. I was expecting to have gained weight. -

Thank you. I gave myself a butt kicking today. I needed to have a different mind frame. I usually only weigh on Mondays, but I happened to step on the scale on Friday. I will not get back on them until next Monday though.
