    I'm back and BANDED!!!

Congratulations!!! I hope you stay as comfortable as you are with minimal pains. The gas pains were the worse for me. Just remember to WALK! Good luck on your new journey!!!!
  2. I was banded on 7-26-10.....I had a lot of gas pain in my chest and back and when that subsided I had a "chicken bone" feeling in my chest for 3 days that caused me not to want to drink anything. I feel a lot better now but still having a hard time consuming all my liquids. I'm on clear liquids for 2 weeks. Can't wait for next Monday to start stage 2 for purees!!! Good luck to you!!! WALK, WALK, WALK that is what seemed to help me the most!

I NEED HELP.....or at least some advice

Ok....so I am 1 week now post-op and I'm STARVING and the smell of food is making me nuts!!!! Has anyone else during this stage ever put food in their mouth (tonight my hubby made bbq chicken so that is what mine was) chewed it up to get the taste and flavor and then spit it out? I know it's gross but I did this tonight and afterwards felt guilty for doing it. I kept thinking to myself that I just want a taste..... Today was my 1st day in the last 3 that I didn't have that "chicken bone" feeling in my chest and therefore was able to drink a bit more. Am I going crazy or are these normal things and feelings?????
  5. Hi Lindsey.... I just got my lapband last Monday 7-26-10. So far for the most part things have been ok. Minimal pain. I know how you feel about just wanting a friend who understands and who is going through this too. I have felt the same way. Check your inbox....
  6. I wish you all the best and success in your journey. I try to always remain positive but this isn't a perfect world therefore there are times when you need to be "real" and know it isn't always going to be easy. Since my last post, that "chicken bone" feeling has subsided (knock on wood) and hopefully will stay that way. That was an awful feeling to have. Hopefully now I can get some of this protein crap in me for I feel weak as hell not having anything inside of me. Keep me posted on you and I will pray for you! (I'm still not quite sure how to add friends on here so if you do, add me....I would be honored!) Talk to you again soon!!!!

    Almost 1 week post-op....

So I had my surgery and all in all things went great! Very minimal pain the day of surgery....the next day a bit more pain but the 2 days after that I felt really good. However, the last 2 days have been awful! I feel like I have a "chicken bone" stuck in the middle of my chest! This is causing me to not want to drink anything and I'm afraid if I don't drink (especially my protein) I will never feel better! If anyone has suggestions on if this feeling is normal and what I can maybe do to releave the feeling I would be very grateful! (I have gotten some good advice already but it doesn't hurt to have more options!) Also, I find it extremely hard when my family is eating and I can't. I want so badly to just put some "real" food into my mouth that it's really starting to depress me! I don't go until 8-19-10 for my follow up and I have promised myself I would NOT weigh myself until then....however there is still that part of me that wants to know if anything is working for me yet. Well blessings to you all and I hope to hear from my "LapBand family" soon!
  8. Thank you so much for the advice....I will try it. Tonight I was able to get a little bit of chicken broth down without have that "feeling." Hope tomorrow will be a better day! I'm not quite sure how to add friends on here so if you could add me I would be honored! Talk to you again soon!!!

  9. Hello....

I have been reading some of your blogs (as well as the good luck wishes you left for me.) I am now 5 days post-op. The last 2 days have been awful. I feel like I have a "chicken bone" stuck in my chest. This makes me not want to drink anything. I hope this feeling goes away soon. Other then that I really have minimal pain. I am SO hungry though and wish i could just put some "real" food into my mouth if only for a second!!! :) Keep in touch!!

I had surgery and some complications!

I had my surgery last Monday and I'm STILL suffering with the gas pains! That is really the ONLY pain I have. I actually went #2 today for the 1st time but it was more water then anything. Good luck to you and I pray for a speedy recovery!!!
  11. I had my surgery last Monday and the last 2 days have been awful for me. Not so much pain but a feeling like there is a "chicken bone" stuck in my chest. It has made me not want to put anything in my mouth for I feel then like I'm going to be sick. I feel weak because of it because I'm not getting in the amount of protein or drinks like I'm suppose to. Not to mention I'm HUNGRY for REAL food!!! Good luck to you and keep me posted!!!!
  12. Cindy,

I am glad to hear that your doing well other then the liquid crap. I was feeling quite good the first couple of days but the last 2 days have been awful for me. I have this feeling in my chest like I swallowed a chicken bone or something and it's got me to the point where I don't want to drink or anything. I am SO hungry though for FOOD and not liquid and I still have over a week left on liquids. It depresses me at times and I hope this feeling goes away soon. Keep me posted on you. I think about you often and wish you well.

    My BIG Day is tomorrow!!!

My life will change tomorrow morning at 7:15am when I am scheduled for my LapBand surgery. It has been rough the last couple of nights.....I feel like I haven't slept because I lay awake and all these thoughts run through my mind. I am scared out of my mind about surgery but more so of the "unknown." Reading stories and posts on here has helped me a lot and all I can do now is leave things in Gods hands for he knows all. When you have a free moment please say a prayer for me that everything turns out well and I have just as much success as all of you! God Bless.
  18. Hi Winks!

Thank you so much for the prayers!!!! I will do the same for you and be thinking of you on the 28th...! It's coming down to the wire for me now.....only a few more hours and I would be lying if I said I'm not scared to death.....:( I leave everything in Gods hands now.....best of luck to you and keep in touch too!!!! :)

    Hello!

I am new to this site as well.....I am scheduled for Monday, 7-26-10 to be banded. I have a lot of different emotions going on.....scared, nervous, anxious etc. Reading things help a lot. Best to you all!!
  22. Hey Guys! I am new to this site but so far find it VERY encouraging! I started my journey back on October 16, 2009 when I got my 1st referral from my Dr. As of now I have completed EVERYTHING medically necessary for surgery and also got my insurance approval.....just waiting on my surgery date now. I am so ready for this and most importantly ready to start FINALLY living my life rather then just existing. I am SO nervous though and honestly I'm really scared too. I still have all those negative thoughts racing through my mind..... Well I just wanted to say hello and if anyone has any advice or anything I APPRECIATE it greatly! I haven't shared this journey with many people so the support would be awesome!
