    Name your fave Football snacks

I like that whole water suggestion. I ate last night before we went out to dinner. My husband was like "your not gonna be able to eat". DUH that was my plan. We were going to Spaghetti Factory. I ordered ice tea and sipped one glass through the whole meal. Didn't feel like I missed a thing. Now I plan to order water at my Rams games! Oh and last week I was good for 2 wings!!!
  2. That was my first thought, retaining water. Or muscle weight. Are you working out? Getting 60-100 grams of protein in daily? Drinking a shit ton of water (I don't like water, can you tell? LOL)

    It's going slow...

How far out are you? What stage are you in? Have you talked to your Dr about the pain?

    Any Tijuana Sleevers?

I used OCC for my band in 2011. They were quite a bit more expensive for the revision than Dr Fernando Garcia. So I used him in May 2016 for VSG. I had a great experience, they took great care of me and the Hospital CER was new and state of the art.
  5. I used Dr Garcia in May for VGS revision. GREAT experience. Wouldn't change a thing. I used Dr Ortiz in 2011 for my band he and his staff were great too. Just too expensive for my sleeve revision. Dr Garcia charged $5200 for revision and Ortiz wanted $8000. No brainer. Good Luck, you will be in good hands. My post op was super uneventful and NO gas pains

Slower weight loss second time around?

I added a cheese stick and protien granola bar to my daily routine because some vets suggested I get more calories. That broke my 3 month stall. I am starting to understand this whole lose then stall thing. It gives my body time to adjust and my skin to tighten. I guess I am 'embarrassing the stalls" LOL Still super slow weight loss, 33 lbs since May 28th.
  8. Going to Tijuana isn't scary at all. The hospitals/surgery centers are state of the art. The care you receive is better than in the US. The nurse to patient ratio isn't over extended. I heard several doctors from Tijuana are now doing surgeries in Cancun. Have you checked out that as an option since you're going from Jamaica? Just a thought <3
  9. ALM does quite a few surgeries everyday. Ask them how many 6-8? Other docs do 3-4. I personally didnt want to be rushed through. Also they brought a 15 passenger van stuffed full of people for their leak test. I was happy to have it be me and 2 other people on Dr Garcias shuttle.
  10. Dr Ariel Ortiz at Obesity Control Center is the BEST. He did my LapBand in 2006. He is a little higher priced than other Tijuana Drs but 1st class all the way. If you do research your will find him everywhere. The Doctors show, Oprah, Dateline, there was a write up in Newsweek naming him one of the top bariatric surgeons in the US. For my revision to sleeve in May 2016 I used Dr Fernando Garcia. Another first class experience but cost wise he was in my budget. I did a lot of research before using him too. I had zero complications and felt I was VERY well taken care of. His surgery center is new and state of the art. PM me if you need any other questions answered.

    Can we talk carbs?

OK so this week I added 2 snacks to my food routine. A cheese stick and a granola bar. Not only did I break my stall but I also lost 3 lbs this week. Mainly because I was trying to get my calories above 600 for the day, also because I have been craving something I couldn't put my finger on. It seems to be working for me.
  12. I am assuming you want advice. Skip the band and go straight to sleeve. Just go peek at the thread of "band to sleeve revision". I personally dont know anyone 5 years out that still have their band. I lost great in the beginning too with my band. But only for one year then nothing. Well slowly, very slowly started to gain. Maybe 1-2 lbs a month. Then maybe 3 or 4 lbs on vacation. With band you are constantly chasing the "sweet spot" where you aren't too tight or too loose. The sleeve eliminates all that. Just food for thought. If I had to do it over again, I would have skipped all the band drama, sliming and fills. Best of Luck, in your decision and process. Keep us posted <3
  13. Oh thank gawd you didn;t get hooked again.

    June 25th Dr. Fernando Garcia

I didn't have any gas pain. He also fixed my hernia when he was in there. I had revision band to sleeve at the new CER surgery facility. It is super clean and state of the art. Dr Garcia is very caring so don't be afraid. He and his staff do this all the time so everything moves along like a well tuned machine. Just trust in the process and things will go as planned. Honestly the hardest part was doing the barium swallow. They make you down 3oz at once NO SIPPING and after sip, sip, sipping water in the hospital it is super scary downing 3oz and the taste almost made me gag. So if that is the hardest part YOU GOT THIS VERONIKA
  15. Thanks Hun! That's a challenge for me at the moment because I'm so used to being a gulper, lol! But I am doing better. Thanks so much! @@hbrhonda Are we supposed to limit ozs in Protein drinks too? Sent from my KFFOWI using the BariatricPal App I was told not more than 4 oz of liquids every 1/2 hour. So you don't stretch out. I feel the 4 oz of Protein shake in my tummy so there is no way I could power through 11 oz anyways.
  16. OK so my doctor told me not to use bending straws. The ridges aerate the liquid you are drinking. So I use straight straws LOL
  17. Great!! Sams has Premier Protein shakes. High protein, low sugar. Remember not to drink more than 4oz per sitting.

Slower weight loss second time around?

I have been losing 2 lbs a week since my revision in May, Very frustrating to see the fast numbers on first time sleevers. I guess a pound lost is better than a pound gained. Just hope I can lose 60 more lbs.
  23. I am dying here. D'Sleeved may need to change her forum name if she ever wants to post again! LOL Did anyone pay attention to how many likes the POSITIVE comments got? I too brought all those things and never used any of them. In fact, I have a brand new box of Biotene still unopened. I preferred crunching ice chips to wet my mouth.
  24. Dr Oliack in Orange. Or Mexico if you are a cash patient like me I live in Garden Grove. I got sleeved 5/28/2016
