  1. Hey Guys! I think this thread it great, and I love to read EVERYTHING, good and bad, that we say about our tool. I think it is healthy for us to hear other people's experience, and it is really important for us to voice our feelings so we can grow during this process!

I just wanted to add one more thing. I know when you are typing on the puter, it is hard to tell the "tone of voice" someone is using. Let me assure anyone who might have gotten the wrong impression from Special K, Kathy is one of the sweetest people I know. (Yes, I am lucky enough to have meet her and develop a friendsship outside of the internet, too) I don't think she would have ever meant to upset someone, and I think she would feel terrible it she thought that someone's feelings were hurt with her comment about honesty! I actually took the comment as encouragement to continue to voice our feelings--no matter what they are at the moment!

Hope everyone has a great LONG weekend!

  3. Wow BBK, sounds like a huge mess! I can only imagine how upset you must have been! I do agree about calling the hospital and asking for some type of compensation. The least they can do is give you a gas card to cover your second trip.

Kudos for your DH finally stepping up and being another voice in your corner!

    Good luck tomorrow!

  4. christine--My prayers are with you and your family. I understand, first hand, how hard this time is for you! I do agree with Fenton, try to find a doctor that can take the decision out of your hands. It is hard to do, but it was the only way my family was able to be on the same page!

Kathy--Good luck with your exam! I am set to take one myself in Sept, but with the kids and summer fun, I have not even started to study! Yikes!

  5. BNL--Do you know how many cals/protein gms you are eating? It is hard to say, but I would guess that you have found that desired "sweet spot." Congrats!

I am not far behind you! I have 7.5cc in a 14cc band, and have lost that hungry feeling most days. I was able to eat a cheeseburger (no bun) and about 1/8 cup potatoe salad last night. I guess that might be a little much for one meal, but I had not eatten much the rest of the day. I am thinking about skipping my next fill later this month if my restriction stays this wonderful. I would hate to be too tight!

  6. Way to go Heather! 70lbs is amazing! Heck, 1 lb a week is a nice, safe, steady weight loss!

    Once again, congrats Kathy!

I am off to the pool (thanks again Juli for the black swimsuit). I am hoping I can get my back feeling good enough to start exercising again this week!

  7. Kathy--You go girl!!! That is a major victory (down 50 lbs and in the 200's)! I am really proud of you!

Scrappy--You are amazing! I can't believe that you are already down 100 lbs! Way to go!

Amanda--What a great pooch! Thank goodness for listening to the dog and saving your DH's life! I can only imagine how terrified you were!

I am off to the pool to work on my back. I am hoping to start the couch25k program this week, at least if I can get it to loosen up.

  8. Good Mornin' Marchers! Just checking in before I get started today! I love how many people are active on this thread! (although it does make it a little difficult for a newbie like myself)

Fenton--Welcome home! You were missed by many while you were gone; that says a lot about the type of person you are! Oh, and although it is hard to see the scale move in the other direction, a few pounds is prob Water weight, and will be back off before you know it!

Sugar Bean & Tess--I am looking at joining you next week on the program, as long as my back will allow me to do it! I have been down for 3 weeks, and need to get moving again!

Better run for now...my kids must have realized I was on the puter, so the fighting has begun!!!

  9. Hey guys! Hope everyone is dealing with Monday morning alright. I am really draggin'. I went back to work Sat night (my back is about 80% better) and had a party for my college friends Sunday, so morning time came too early for me today!

Oh, had my first expierence with the flu bug after banding, too. Thank goodness it was only diarrhea. (who would have ever thought I would say that) Feeling much better now.

    Have a great day!

  10. Angie--Yah! I am so happy for you! I can't wait to hear all the details of your journey! oh, and my face is where I see the most difference, by far. I am not sure about anyone else, but the weight is coming off much differently this time. I was in a much smaller size clothes the last time I weighted this much...oh well, at least the scales are moving in the right direction!

Kathy--I think 3 oz of steak, 1/2 of a salad and 1/2 of a potato is pretty close to your sweet spot! That can not be much more than a cup of food, and I wouldn't think you would want to eat much less than that! Woot for the NSV, too!

Lyn--Glad to hear you are having such a great vacation! Good luck on Wednesday! Mushies will taste better than you can imagine!

  11. Rhonda--You are doing so well! I can't even imagine how much better you have to be feeling! What an inspiration.

Tess--I think that eating while on vacation is fine, as long as we don't do it to the point of making ourself sick. I think it becomes a problem if we continue to eat like we are on vaction after we are home. It is easy to do, but it looks like you got a hold of it before it was out of control--that is a victory!

SugarBean--I was doing the couch program after surgery, and loved it. I have gotten away from it--no reason why--but YOU have motivated me to try it again, Thanks!
