    Sex after lap band???

    I'm glad this was posted. I'm 1 week post-op today and I've been dying for some attention I wouldn't mind trying but I"m still in pain and have some swelling and discomfort in my port area. I was worries as some of the others were that my fiance wouldn't find me attractive after becoming thinner, but he says it's not an issue as long as you cant see all of my bones. =) I'm happy to think that he might actually find me a little MORE attractive! =) Since before and after surgery I have lost 21 lbs and nobody has noticed yet! but I'll get there!

    Liquid Stage Recipes

    I had tons of leftover baby oatmeal so I decided to use them for myself in the morning. I pour as much of the oatmeal as I want into a bowl and add Water to thicken (you can also add milk) I throw in a little butter, cinnamon and a dash of vanilla. It's delicious. =)

    Boxing, Wrestling, or MMA

    That's what this site is for. =) I'm sure one day in one way or another you'll have helpful info for a newbie like yourself. And please do still call. They may be able to help more than you expect. Think up some more questions that you may want to ask them, too! =)
  4. I became obsessed with peanut butter right BEFORE my band. At my work in the kitchen we always had a drawer full of the snack size cups and I would eat two just with a spoon, and I would melt one and mix it in with some warm chocolate pudding. Oh my lord what heaven lol.

    Can seem to get off the last 15lbs????

    The strength training might actually be making you gain muscle which would make you put on a little weight or what have you. I say more cardio and less strength. The more you move around the more you should lose. Just a suggestion. =)

    Finally!

    I'd kill for a wii and just dance. I saw it on tv and I was like "i'd love that!" as of now I just have work out videos and my exercise bike. I cant exercise yet though my surgeon is having me wait till 2 weeks post-op.
  7. My surgeon has told me 2 weeks and I can return to exercising. =) I'm not there yet though or I'd help more.

    Boxing, Wrestling, or MMA

    Hum, ya know, I couldn't tell you. I will give you a number to call and they may be able to answer your question. If they can and you are able to to mma boxing etc, then you may even be able to go through the process of getting the lap band with them. This is the # 1-800-248-5553 This number is for the bridges center of surgical weight loss. Just tell whoever answers that you have some questions about exercise after the band and that you haven't had surgery yet. They should be able to help you. I really hope this works out for you. I just got the band 6 days ago now and I have never been happier. Best of luck!
  9. Hey all, I had my surgery on the 25th and just today I began feeling so much better. Barely sore at all and lots of energy. My only problem is that I have a big appetite again suddenly. The first few days I didn't even want food, but today I was starving. I'm on a full-liquid diet, so I can have cream of soups, tomato, runny oatmeal, cottage cheese, etc. (all of these things are on my food list from my patient advocate) Today I've had some oatmeal, almost 2 cups of cream of potato soup split between lunch and dinner, and a few hours later I had some more oatmeal. Maybe 1/4 cup of it. I'm still hungry but I'm fighting the urge to eat. I was told to consume freely but i don't want to be eating all day and gaining weight. Is anyone else having a problem similar to this after their surgery? Or did have this issue after surgery? I hope I'm not the only one. Thanks!
  10. Thanks, Honk. I guess you're right. I got fat free cottage cheese and I'll do like you said. =) I will do like that tomorrow and see how that goes.
  11. Why am I starvingggg!!!! BOOOOOO >:(

  12. I never regretted it, but I had my doubts. I had surgery 1/25 and I'm still kindof like.......wow. There's a foreign object in my body now. It's kinda surreal.
  13. @bree, I was banded the 25th, couldn't be happier. He answered all of my questions before hand and was very kind and patient. =) Hope your surgery went/goes well.
  14. Dr. Daniel Fang is my surgeon for the Lap Band. I have had consults with him and I found him to be caring and professional. He made sure whatever questions I had were answered and I can't wait for him to be with me in the operating room!!!

    Are you open about your band?

    I started off quiet actually. I told a few people at work I was interested so that they might be able to help me with our insurance. After a few months of considering I told my Mom about it and she was reserved about her opinion. Eventually the whole family knew and everyone is either supportive, or keep their mouths shut. =) I am open about it now with friends and family, but people I'm not close with don't need to know. That's just the way I see it.
  17. PLEASE don't eat solids right now. =( I'm worried for you. I don't know HOW bad you might or may have damaged things, but the point is you CAN and probably WILL if you continue. =( I know it's hard to be on clear liquids. Trust me. I was on clear liquids for 2 weeks pre-op. Stick to your clears and if the hunger gets unbearable please call your surgeons office/patient advocate/nutritionist or whoever can help and explain to them your dillema. Someone will be able to tell you what you can do, or what damage you may actually do when and if you eat solids again. Right now I'm on a full-liquid and I'm doing fine with cream of soups. You'll get there and it will help you to be able to have more than clear liquids. Please make smart choices and remember that we're here to support you on this site. =)

    ~~~The Big 50~~~
    CONGRATULATIONS, GIRL!!!! Someday I'll be saying the same thing!
  19. Same thing happened with me! I went in 220 lbs and left 230 lbs. I was like 'what the hell!?!?!' but by day four post-op I had lost it all. =)
  20. I have been spending the last 3 days looking at wedding dresses! I am SO HAPPY!
  21. Hey all, my name is Danika, but you can call me Dani. =) I was banded Jan 25th and I couldn't be happier. I could probably be less sore, but not happier
  22. That pain and sore discomfort is from where they sutured the port to your muscle. =)
    All about me
    You seem very sweet! I'm proud of you (although I don't know you yet) for beginning your journey! I got to a point, too, where I was like WOW how did this happen? I was banded tuesday the 25th of this month and I am still healing. I'm very sore but also VERY happy to have been banded. I have a new head on my shoulders and I am beaming! I cannot wait to be that thin, healthy, fit, happy woman that I know is in me. I'm glad that you've found lapbandtalk. It helped me SO much in my beginning phases of the process. I started everything in may of 2010. If you would like to chat further, have questions, advice, need a buddy, I'm here! WISHING YOU LUCK!
  24. I don't have chest discomfort, but the back discomfort is definitely there. I was banded the 25th. Honestly I don't think that has much to do with restriction I believe it to be a gas pain. I don't think that you would be able to feel back discomfort from restriction at all times of the day even when you're not drinking or eating anything. I think you might just be sick of the clear liquids as well. I know I was pre-op haha. When you get into your mushy/puree phase start out light. Do cream of soups like cream of mushroom blended. Tomato soup would be good too. Straight out from surgery I was able to have a full-liquid diet. So I am currently having the cream of soups, tomato soup, grits, broth etc. I am tolerating them fine. In 3 weeks...(more like 2 now) I will be on a mushy foods diet. =) I cant wait to have some mashed potatoes!!!!
