  1. Before you think about wasting your money on another fill - let me tell you about MY last fill experience. I had a fill (.2 cc) 5 weeks ago. After the fill I could Eat MORE than before the fill. I was frantic and called the doc and he said come back in next week (after my insurance expired). I said forget it I will wait and the restriction finally came - 4 weeks later!!!!!! No one at the DR office can explain why and I have experienced a delayed fill of 2 weeks, but 4 WEEKS NEVER!!! So be patient. :)

  2. I wanted to let you know that I spoke maybe a month ago about my Hair loss. I too had a very thick head of hair and for almost 2 months i was shedding worse than my dogs!!! It was really freaking me out because I never thought it would end. It stopped right after I got a new hair cut. My doc and just about everyone i talk to says its normal - we are shocking our bodies by eating healthy and exercising!!

I also want to bring up (just incase others are experiencing it) that for over a month i lost NOTHING!!!!! I was having trouble couting calories, fat, Protein, etc so I joined Weight Watchers. I have lost 8 lbs (2wks) and am going to continue counting points while it works!!! Also I have had 5 fills and i think i am finally feeling something like restriction (2.9 in 4cc)

GOod luck to all and don't worry

  3. I am going in for my 4th fill on the 28th. I have 2.2cc in a 4cc band, but I can still just about eat anything. My "snacking" has come to a complete stop because I am not hungry between meals, but I do eat alot at my meals. We shall see if I can get more restriction. GL!

  4. Melissa - I have had over 1 month of hard core Hair loss. Luckily I had super thick hair to begin with so now it just looks normal to everyone else, but to me I wanna cry every morning when I comb my hair and get the chunks coming out. I now shed worse than my dogs!!! LOL

I know it will grow back though so I don't worry. I am in desperate need of a dye job but I am afraid that might put my hair over the edge!

  5. I am not sure if this was discussed, but I have just started to notice some severe Hair loss. Everytime I shower and comb my air there is a considerable amount of my hair coming out. Is anyone else experienceing this?? I am eating between 60 - 80 grams of Protein so I don't understand why this is happening. Ofcourse my DR says he has never had a patient with hair loss - so I would be the 1st/.:cry

  6. Hey everyone I just wanted to stop in and give an update on my recovery. I am almost 4 weeks post op - down 28 lbs since 5/9/07. After the first 10 days my only "pain" was the port site because my doc put it right under my boob. Now it is as if all my pain and discomfort was just a dream. I feel wonderful! My doc put in the smaller band (4cc) so i have felt restriction since the beginning and am only now sensing that i am able to eat more than maybe 2 weeks ago, but I am taking it slow and making great choices. I don't even crave the junk i used to eat. THANK YOU LAPBAND!!!

  7. Ok so I have 2 days post op and I finally am able to sit at the table to get online. I am amazed at the posts where people went in at 8 and went home at 11:30.

Here is how my surgery went down. Arrived at 5:30, took me back a little after 6am. Wheeled into surgery at 7:45 and my mom says the doc told her i was awake in recovery at 9:30. The only thing i remember while I was in recovery was continuously asking for more pain meds because it was Out of control! Then around 12:30 I went into my room and got up to start walking off the gas. I was up walking etc for most of the day and ended up sleeping in the recliner and my mom in my bed because I was visiting the potty every 2 hours from the IV. I was not allowed anything to eat or drink on day 1.

Day 2 was a tid bit better, I was walking fine and went to do my upper GI - now that experience was painful!!! Then at about 3pm I was able to try liquids to I ordered a variety of clear fluids. FInally at 5pm I was released and I have to say its good to be home and good to have a shower - but my pain is still out of control!

    Good luck everyone!

  8. I have tried that and every other diet under the sun. I even tried the "cookie diet" where they say you can eat all the Cookies you want and lose weight. THey are all fads and scams. The cookie diet was an 800 calorie a day diet - anyone can lose weight on that, but if we could survive with that few calories we wouldn't be fat. That cost me 500$ for 2 weeks and when i had diareah everyday for 2 weeks I said forget it i'd rather be fat. Go with your insurance. You can wait the few weeks for the cards to come in. I have been on the 6 month dr/nutrionist diet for 3 months and it has gone by in a flash!

    Good luck
