  1. Coming out of the kitchen closet isn't an easy decesion. I grant you that. But being able to talk about to others helps you continue on. Some of my friends were not swayyed one way or the other. Some were "CONGRATS" and a few were shocked! Getting a mixed reaction is apart of our daily lives. Each person has a different outlook on how they view things. Its so true, skinny ppl have no clue what we are up against. They say "just put the fork down". Its much more than that.

Congrats on your current weight loss. Each pound is one pound less you had before. Try not to look back on what you did in the past rather what you are doing now to change it. I too have been up and down the scale before. Feels at times I am married to it!

You have made a decesion to change the way you view food. Having any kind of gastic procedure is a step in the right direction. True as well the pounds are not going to melt away. We still have to work hard on making the right food decesions... not always an easy task.

Keep in touch and read the blogs. They are a great tool for you to learn new techniques and tips on how to stay on track. Wishing you much luck and thank you for writing in.

  2. Well said!! :) I watched a video blog of a girl who was just eating mashed potatoes and french fries and was wondering why she was not losing weight. I thought the band was another tool for helping me lose weight with good nutrition. I've just gotten off the phone with drs. office, I'm pre op. (Aug 31) I was asking what I could do to increase fiber since all I drink are those nasty Optifast drinks with 0 fiber. I told them I was going to add some "green powder" to my protein drink. She said Oh no, use benefiber. I hate those chemical stuff. Why not do it with food. She asked about calories, green powder once a day 50 calories. Benefiber 3 times a day 45 calories. I would much rather use something healthier. Now that I'm going through with this, I'm going to make a concerted effort to eat healthy and not to use processed or chemicals. Blah, blah, I'm venting.
