  1. Ok, phew. Glad it's not just me! I had no idea I had a hiatal hernia going into it and I had asked him to take copies of pictures for me before hand... I'm glad I did now that I had that done too  This afternoon I feel very sleepy but cannot get comfortable to sleep. I just took a percocet so that should help. I keep pushing myself though b/c I am afraid of getting blood clots or pneumonia... paranoid nurse here lol

  2. I'm wondering if the hiatal hernia repair is what is making it difficult for me to take deep breaths or if it was just the surgery in general? I'm using my incentive spirometer an getting to about 2000-2250 most of the time. In the mornings Im around 1000-1500. I've been walking like crazy and overall feeling pretty great! I was banded yesterday at 8am... took 2 percocet at bed time and that's been it. I took a tylenol today so far. I'll probably do percocet at bedtime again. I've not felt like eating/drinking much at all and I've started burping/passing gas so I am hoping that will all be out of me soon. Any tips??

  3. Hi guys,

I've not said much around here but have lurked for a while. I have set my surgery date of August 18th and I'm feeling pretty good about it so far. I was a little nervous at first but now feeling better. My big question though is did anyone else feel like they wanted to eat everything in sight and mind when they found out they were having surgery? The nutrition classes have just made me "hungry" and crave things that I shouldn't. I start the pre-op diet next Monday and I've started trying different shakes and easy crock-pot style meals. Any tips???:scared2:

  4. What was your approval process like? Do you have to have the comorbities for 2 years also? Does the blood pressure have to be high even on bp pills? I'm getting very nervous as my BMI is only 37 but I really need this surgery to help me. I am a yo-yoer and am starting to have a lot of problems. I suffer from chronic back pain (probably DJD), elevated BP, and now my sugars are starting to elevate as well. I recently was diagnosed with hypothyroidism after ten years of symptoms and am at a therapeutic level on my medications. Any suggestions or recommendations? Thanks!

Has anyone actually gained weight to bump their BMI up??
