  1. I've heard mixed reviews about him. I heard his radio commercial the other day. I am from long island and I highly recommend Dr. David Buchin in Huntington NY. He just did my revision from Lap band (done by diff doctor in Aug of 2010) to Sleeve on Aug 15th. Where in NY or LI are you from?

  2. Hi All,

I had a revision from Lapband to VSG on Aug 15th. I used to take Loestein 24FE before my revision surgery. My surgeon told me due to absorption issues that 'could' happen I should look into another form of birth control. I went to my OB- GYN and she suggested the Nuvaring because I have PCOS and still need hormones in my birth control. So, my question is: All post-op's, what kind of Birth Control do you use? Does anyone use the Nuvaring & what do you think of it?

    Thanks!!

  4. I have United Health Care Choice Plus- for my Lapband surgery that I had in August of 2010 I was approved 1st try. Where as, I just had a revision to the VSG on Aug 15th- and because it was a revision it was hell. Several appeals to denials. But if this you first surgery it should go pretty smoothly as long as they identify comorbidities. Hope that helps. I wish you luck in the future.

  5. Hey Emily' date='

I had the band (2008) to sleeve revision on 8/6. Also had the hiatal hernia repair as well. Couldn't convince my surgeon to take the gall bladder at the same time and will have to go back in a few months to have them take that out (have had gall stones for a few years, but no complications so far).

All in all, life is good. Started on regular foods and can get down most anything, just a whole lot less!! I will say that by day 1, I didn't miss my band one bit!! I haven't gotten sick, no foaming, no getting stuck. The minute I feel full, I stop eating. The digestion process tires me out a bit, but I am working on understanding what foods make me feel more tired than others. Definitely, if it's higher in carbs, the harder my body has to work. Or so it feels.

Congrats on your revision and best of luck to you!![/quote']

Yeah I read so many stories about people that can't eat etc. Its been smooth sailing- no sickness, no foam, no getting stock. Its nice to hear someone kinda in the same place I'm in. Good Luck with your journey!!

  6. I had my revision from Lap-band to the Sleeve on Aug 15th... My portions are 1/4 to 1/2 cup and I can't ever finish a 1/2 cup. I've read so many posts about people who can't eat or keep food down at this point, etc. It seems towards the end of the day I start feeling 'hungery"... anyone else expirence this? I dont know how it would be possible, but have I maybe stretched my pouch?
