  1. Yes, well, this is awkward.....but you've both been so forthcoming that I will share some deep dark secrets:

I occasionally like to attach clothespins to my body whildst sporting a sailor suit. I find it soothing to yell at an antique Barbie doll that I've named "mother". I sometimes loiter at the produce section of my local Walmart and giggle when the elderly ladies pick up a cucumber. My oral fixation is so pronounced that I frequently must wear a "spit cup" affixed under my chin with a velcro strap.

But other than those things, I think I'm pretty well adjusted.

Wow Plain, I really missed to boat not snapping you up before your wife, you sound like my perfect man!! Got a brother I can dump my husband for?

I need some help with my obsession to gossip magazines. I seriously spend way too much money on them, but I need to know what is going on Britney and Paris' lives. (and the scary thing is I know they're not real stories!).

  2. Haha yes, off the island. We don't know everything about your relationship, of course, but if my husband ever said that shit to me, he'd be out on the street with just the clothes on his back. No one deserves to be emotionally bullied like that, especially by some one who is supposed to care for you..... just my 2 cents....Oh make that 3 cents, you DO look great, for the record.

  3. I'm totally with you on the reunion thing. My 10 year reunion was 3 days after my surgery. "Luckily" I was still too unwell after my surgery to go.....

I was 28 when I was banded and had been slimmer in my early 20's via fanatical exercising and disordered eating, so I had known what it was like to be a normal size. I wanted to feel good about my appearance again!

I disgusted myself a few months before surgery when on a flight from Sydney to LA in economy class the (thin) girl that was in the seat next to me grimaced as I told her "looks like this is where I am sitting". It was a painful 14 hour flight with my fat bursting out from under the chair arms.....

Also, sex is better, walking (AND running! I can run!) is easier, I don't get rashes under my boobs and stomach from the sweat and most importantly I can wear heels instead of the most boring comfortable shoes I could fit my always bloated feet into LOL. I wear heels EVERY day to work now.

  4. I'm so jealous. I'm stuck in an office in the CBD everyday.

And yeah the heat was unbearable. On our days off in the desert (we camped out of 2 trucks for 30 days), we would follow the shadow around the truck with our fold out chairs for a teeny bit of respite from the sweltering heat.

Hope everyone has a good weekend, I'm off to the coast to enjoy the (fingers crossed!) warm weather and waves!

  5. Ahhhh Friday afternoon and evening, how I love thee...

Fanny, your pics make me think about the trip I made up to Birdsville and back on a research trip after Uni. Its so beautiful up there too. So many Australians never get to see all the amazing things our country has to offer.

  6. Those of you coming up to surgery, I know just how you feel...2 years ago I was in my pre op diet at this stage....you can do this! It is SO worth every moment of hunger, I promise you! The first week I could eat "normal" food again was when Xmas fell and it was the best Xmas ever.....it didn't revolve around just the food!

  7. Posting to post that I had a friend in from NY this weekend. After a luncheon with other Atl friends, we went for facials and massages. Good times! Now I'm grieving the fact that tomorrow's Monday.

Oh and PS - had my first PB on eggs. Now as bad as I thought tho I don't long for them!!

    What a nice weekend!

And yeah, *most* eggs and I are no longer friends for this exact reason...

  8. Where are you all making these avatars?

Mine is from yahoo, but I'm going to give the one Donna posted a try too, her's is much clearer than mine

there is a resemblance!!! very cute!

    Aww thanks!

DD and I were in line @ Target ... a woman got in line behind us (really close to DD)... after about 20 sec, DD says 'a little close there, lady'

    :tt2: :tongue2:

What a sassy young lady. I cannot wait to meet her!

  9. I am glad that you are feeling better She. I like the new avatar.

Thanks! Its kiiiiiinda supposed to look like me. LJM might be able to attest to whether it does or not...whaddaya think LJM?? The only thing wrong with it I think is that there was no skin colour light enough. My skin is so pale its almost translucent. Wonderful to burn in the scorching Aussie summer sun...! (NOT!).

  10. Posting to say I woke up at 3am with the most painful stomach ache ever. Spent the next 3 hours switching between writhing in pain and vomiting (well as much vomiting as a banded person can do). Then all of a sudden just after 6am, it went away. I'm not at work today because I am SO tired from the who thing. Blah. Not sure if it was food poisoning (we did go out for dinner) or a stomach bug (which is going around at the moment). Looks like liquids for me for the rest of the day.
