  1. They don't taste that great, either! I'd rather eat a peanut butter sandwich on sprouted grain bread for that amount of calories.

    Was This A Mistake?

Honestly, regret is a useless emotion in this situation. It's been done, you can't reverse it, so why waste time thinking "what if?" Just take it day by day and realize that it's all temporary roadblocks and it will get better.

Pain - What Could This Be?

Based on the location, it could be a bladder problem, some sort of uterine/ovarian pathology, or diverticulitis. You'd need some work-up in either case.

Anyone Heard Of... The Cottage Cheese Test?

Well, if you decided to shove 9 oz of chocolate into that pouch, I'm sure it'd affect your weight loss....haha

    Motivation

I think partaking in races is a great idea! Make your next race an 8K or a 10K, that way you have something to work towards. As you are further out from your surgery, you can also start running - that way you can work on improving your finish times.

    When Did It Hit You?

I think after maintaining for a few months....I was so paranoid that I'd lose all this weight and then just regain it all right after hitting goal! But just the other day I realized I've been maintaining for over a year, so even though I've had my ups and downs, it really hasn't been that hard and I probably won't be ballooning back to 200+ anytime soon.
  9. gawd, I love FatSecret....it even has my favorite pupusas listed on there!

  14. Another reason that would explain why this happens specifically after overeating is because your stretched-to-the-limits stomach pouch is pressing hard on the vagus nerve. Pressure on the vagus nerve causes your blood pressure and heart rate to drop. You may have heard of old people passing out while straining on the toilet - same mechanism. If it was low blood sugar, chances are, you would never wake up after passing out.

    5K Advice

Set yourself some intervals and do it that way. E.g. run 5 mins, walk 1.5 mins. I find that I end up with better times doing intervals than running steadily.

    Oprah Kriste Ally

I think the issue with Star Jones was not so much about her having WLS, but rather her obviously having WLS and yet denying it as if we were all fools.
  17. Stupid allergies....sore throat and feeling foggy. Off to the drugstore I go!

Is It Too Soon To Start Pre Op Diet?

I agree with people who said not to starve or overly restrict yourself. It's great if you are not going to have daily food funerals til September and avoid weight gain; dropping a few pounds would be the icing on the cake, but honestly, you cannot even begin to compare the amount of work needed to drop 5 lbs pre-op vs. post-op. However, I think it's a good time to start exercising regularly, if you are not already doing it - you'll have an easier time recovering and won't be as affected by the post-op muscle loss as you are rapidly losing weight.

    Question For Veteran Sleevers

I do think you are overeating. You shouldn't have pain after eating otherwise. It can literally be a matter of a teaspoon of food. Even at 19 months out, one tablespoon can be the difference between satisfied and uncomfortably full.
  21. Sell it on Ebay....or on here.

    This Scare Me Out!

Sounds hard to believe, because if they couldn't do it laparoscopically, they'd just do it open, in which case the size of the liver doesn't matter. Unless she explicitly refused to sign consent for open surgery in case lap failed.
  24. Urghhhhh....this reminded me of MY father, who I cannot stand. When I was a child/teen, he was always the first one to tell me I was a "fat cow," that no boy would ever be interested in me, and that he was "ashamed" to be seen next to me in public (OMG! I was a f-king size TEN as a teen!). Then when I got the surgery, all the a*****e did was deny ever saying anything to me about my weight....and the only thing he had to say to me when he saw me after I got to 150 lbs was that I had a "scrawny face." POS is out of my life right now and it feels AMAZING.
