Well guys, I wrote before that I had a Dr.'s appointment today and I think I may give this band one more try. I feel that maybe It was all my fault for not completely following all the rules. I think I ate more than I should have. but I never felt full and always hungry no matter how tight my band was. Always filled and unfilled for 3 yrs. I have been unfilled for the past 2 months now. The good news is that I only gained 1pound. The bad news is that he told me that the band has done all its going to do for me and that I have a dilated pouch. I had 80 lbs to lose and in all have only lost 45. I still have diabetes and still on meds for high B/P and cholesterol. I thought that being banded would get me in control of these things but its not going to happen. He did mention that my option now is to go without a band,be sleeved, or have pypass. I would think that by-pass may be too much since I only have 30-40 more pounds to lose. Please give me some feed back. Were any of you in this situation?

My surgery was April 18th and up to that point I had lost about 20 lbs. Weight loss after surgery was right around 7 lbs. My first fill was May 17th (2 cc's) and I had no restriction. So now I am slowing gaining weight. My second fill was June 14th...and I got 2 cc's more. Still no restriction. I feel so frustrated. I feel like I have lost my momentum with my weight loss journey. I'm gaining weight, have no restriction and don't go back until July 12th. Is this what is known as "Bandster Hell"? When am I going to feel restriction? I could kick myself for telling people I was getting lap band, because they are looking at me like "well when are you going to lose weight?" Is anyone out there experiencing this? Please help...need support!! Thanks!!

My surgery was done at 9:30am Monday morning, I was back in my room by 1:00PM and walking the halls by 3:00PM. It wasn't until the next day that I filled with so much gas I looked 9 months preg those next two days were not so nice. Today, I am felling good again thank God. I go back to work next Tuesday. I understand that not all people have a bad recovery time and I'm sure if I were 10 to twenty years younger it would have been better but I'm 50 so heeling was a little harder for me.
