  1. Hi All..

So I thought I would update after seeing my plastic surgeon and my lapband surgeon not only do I have a hernia under my port my port turned backwards ...so my LB surgeon is in process of getting "rights" at the hospital that my plastic surgeon is out of so I will have 3 surgeries in 1 ...repair the hernia, flip my port back and give me a belly button back as of right now it will be scheduled for Oct after I come back from Disney they feel I will be ok till then and they want me to heal more plus I need to have a negative CDIFF result and I am still showing positive. So for now I am just taking it one day at a time and preparing for the hurricane heading towards NJ. I hope everyone stays safe.

  2. FINALLLLLLLLLLLLY .... I am so happy to hear.....make sure you get some restrictive pants although I had major set backs they made a huge difference. Please stay in touch and let me know how you are doing. I meet with my bariatric surgeon on Thursday because my hernia is under my port so we shall see what will happen.

  3. Well what they thought was an umbilical hernia turns out to be a full hernia under my port and my port is getting caught in it UGH so it explains all the pain.... I am seeing my bariatric surgeon on Thursday and see what the end result will be either surgery or wait and see if I will continue to heal.

I am going out for a martini I deserve it....Have a great weekend

  4. Hi Ladies.....

Well I am at the 6 week mark... I am still very swollen and had my drains in for 4 weeks and finally over the colitis (C DIFF) that I got from the antibiotic. My belly button died and because I was so sick from the colitis I couldn't get back in the OR right away. Yesterday my hubby and I went to the Jersey Shore to have a nice day together and I doubled over in pain walking along the boardwalk I made home but it got worse and I ended up in the ER for 14 hours ugh and after many tests to add to my stress I now have a umbilical hernia I am sooo frustrated I see the surgeon on Thursday ...Wish me luck ...

  6. It sounds like you had a lot done at once as well. How is the recovery and healing going and how are you feeling and dealing with pain issues and taking care of the drains, bandaging, etc? I have had a few nights of waking up frequently with night terrors!! 1 week from tomorrow and I am really very scared!

I am doing ok...my incision site is doing great but sadly due to a previous surgery I had on my belly button there was a chance it could die and it did so I go back to the OR to fix it tomorrow. I am a bit tired and weak but I get better every day. I know you will do well and just think on how awesome you will look when you are all healed.

    Stay in touch...

  7. thank you so much, they are providing the compression garments. I was told to wear something like a jogging suit. I am going to my parents for at least a week maybe longer depending on how i feel so I won't have to do much other than keeping up with my online students via laptop for that period of time. I am getting Lipo for my flanks and TT only this time. My parents are totally against it but thank goodness they love me enough to take care of me while I recover. Thanks again Jerzee. If you can think of anything please don't hesitate to share it with me.

  8. I had to wear slip on shorts and a zippered shirt as I could not lift my arms above my head and flip flops. I don't have a pain pump but if you can get one DO IT. I still have my drains in and I had surgery 6 days ago.... So here are my thoughts on prep..... if your doctor says you need compression stuff get it and bring it the day of surgery. Set up where you plan on recovering get a towel or medical pad for sitting... tissues, wipes extra napkins ect . I actually went and bought a couple of zip up bathing suit cover ups so it was easy for my hubby to do my drains and using the bathroom.I made sure I had plenty of Snacks and easy prep meals now that my hubby went back to work. I am still hurting but it gets better everyday and I know it is worth it I can't wait to go shopping.

  9. I have a couple questions, my surgery is in the morning. What did you wear? Did you utilize a pain pump? I plan to. How long did your drains stay in? I'm really nervous and excited. I've the pain is excruciating but worth it. Please tell me anything you think I need to know. Thanks!!!

  10. I had a TT done ...lipo in my flanks, thighs, chin and arms and I have to wear compression for all areas for 2+ weeks . I can't wait to see what I look like under all this I am sure better than before. Ahhh the pain well that was pretty intense those first few days but it gets better, for me its tough to move around since so much has been worked on. I am very thankful for my husband and adult children to help me. I can't believe I have had both surgeries

done in under a year and I am excited to start my new life and look....

I am excited for you stay in touch and let me know how you are doing.

  11. How exciting Jerzee

How come so many compression devices for TT and Lipo? Did you have full body done? I am only about a month away from my TT now and I am growing more and more excited to be rid of the excess skin that I now think looks like a set of freakin udders on my midsection - although not looking forward to the pain

  12. Hi All...

It has been a log time since I have been on....I had my band done in July 2010 and lost close to 60 pounds, I recently met with a plastic surgeon and planned a TT and Lipo and Just had it it done this past Tuesday and I am in the midst of my recovery. I still have my drains in and and wearing compression clothing for my arms, flanks, thighs and face and I can't wait to see what I look like when all the swelling goes down. If anyone has any questions please ask It has been a wonderful adventure.

  13. I was banded on Monday...by day 3 I was starving growling stomach dizzy and shaking I called the doctor but they never called me back so my husband went and got me something mushy so that he wouldn't have to take me to the ER for passing out. I am doing the Protein Shakes, Jello, broth and Water and all my vitimins. I also started to notice that my hair is slowly falling out. I don't have any regrets but I feel a little lost on what is going on with my diet.

I can't wait to see the doctor Tuesday to get some answers.

  14. Found out this past Friday I was FINALLY approved for surgery..woo hoo. I can't believe one week from today (7/12) I will start my "new life". I am currently size 20 so I went and did a little shopping and bought a pair of size 16 skinny jeans as my first small goal. I hope to stay in touch with all you July banders to gain advice and support.
