  1. Try Miralax. I suffered with constipation for a very long time. My Gastro dr. Told me to take it everyday. It is expensive, but it does work I mix mine in a cup of hot tea devery morning and you don't taste it. It dissolves. Good Luke.
  2. If your pills are small you shouldn't have a problem swallowing them whole. I was on Lisonpril medication and had no problem swallowing it. I am now taking a water pill capsule and no problem swallowing it either. I only crush large pills. Sometimes I mix them in a little bit of juice or water. Or you can get a pill cutter and cut them into smaller pills. Mix it into your protein shakes Hope that is helpful. Good luck.
  3. That was happening to me in the mornings after I had a cold or it may have just been post nasal drip from during the night. I would take a teaspoon of Mucinex and that seemed to help me. Hope you feel better soon.
  4. I don't think you would be able to eat 33 points once you start getting fills. You are only allowed to eat 4-6 oz. at a meal. Plus getting your liquids in for a day. I am a year and 1/2 out and sometimes I can only eat a few tablespoons of food at a time. Remember we have to eat small pieces and chew your food very well. You should speak to your Dr's office or nutrionists about WW. Good Luck.
  5. Every Dr. is different. I was on liquids for 4 weeks after surgery. Then I could go back to regular food. No mushie stage for me. Before surgery I just did 1 day liquid diet the day before surgery.
  6. When I have that first bite problem, I drink something hot first thing in the morning and then wait about 30 minutes or 1 hour then i can eat yogurt, oatmeal. Try something soft. Then by lunchtime I can eat, but i will eat small bites and chew chew. By dinnertime I am good to go. My Dr. told me we are tight in the a.m. I guess from our band relaxing during the night. Good luck to you.
  7. I had blood clots years ago in my leg and then a years later in the lung and was on coumadin for a year and half. He wanted to make sure I don't clot again. Sounds like you are constipated. Take Milk or Magnesia or I also use a tea called Smooth Move. I am now taking stool softeners also. I am having a hard time getting regular. Probably because we eat so much Protein. Good luck to you.
  8. I also had 2 c-sections. I think the lapband was less painful (as far as incision wise). I did have a lot of gas pains, i also had a lot with my c-sections.
  9. When my stomach is hard and tight I am constipated.
  10. If it continues I would go to urgent care you may have a blood clot from the iv.
  11. I had to take the heparin shot for 30 days after my surgery, because of the blood clot in my lungs.
  12. My doctor told me to drink something hot in the a.m. before eating. He said a lot of people have that problem. I drink a cup of hot tea because in the a.m. I am very tight. In about an hour or so I loosen up a bit and then I can eat something light. I had my surgery in 2010 and still have this problem. By dinner I am loosen up. But I just had a fill last month and I feel really tight. I went to Dr. and he looked at my stomach through flouroscope machine and he said I was fine. Just eat smaller portions. Since I tried that I feel so much better.
  13. You should go to the emergency room and have them do a CAT Scan of your heart and lungs. Before I had my lapband surgery I had a blood clot on my lungs and experienced the same pain you felt. I felt pressure and shortness of breath for 2 days before I finally went to the emergency room. They gave me a CAT Scan and found that I had a blood clot on my lungs. Blood clots in your lungs can kill you if it travels to your heart. Also most doctors give you a heparin shot before lapband surgery to prevent any clots. Please let us know what happens.
  14. Congrats, please tell us what metabolism herbs you are using.
  15. Are you constipated? I feel that way when I am. I suffer very bad from constipation. I have tried everything and nothing works. I drink a tea called Smooth Move by Traditional Medicines and it helps me a lot.
  16. I lost 100 lbs not exercising. Every so often I walk, but didn't do anything strenuous. I am very flabby also. I am not sure if that is the reason or my age. I am 56. I am now doing Zumba 3x a week. I am going to start walking a lot. I don't like lifting weights. In my clothing I look great, without clothing that is a different story. Good luck to you.
  17. I use a tea called Smooth Move. Drink it at night and I go in the morning. I drink it every couple of days. Fiber bulks me up so much. I am thinking I should just get used to having some help in going to the bathroom.
  18. Congrats and keep up the good work.
  19. When I go in for my fill my doctor asks me if I am eating pasta, rice and bread and if I say I am then he gives me a fill. He doesn't want me eating carbs. He said I should be eating every 4-5 hours if not then I probably need a fill. My problem is night eating not sure if it's head hunger or not. It is probably head hunger, because I feel stuffed after eating. I am so miserable. He also does his fills with flouroscopy, so he can tell how open I am. The last fill I only got .3 and he told me he is not giving me anymore fills for awhile. But I feel I am at my green zone. I am eating so much least and at night I don't feel hungry anymore. So let's see how long this lasts.
  20. I know what you mean. I had a fill last week of .3 and I am very tight even in the mornings. The food will go down but it takes a long time. And my patience is very short. So I end up feeling very stuck and throwing up. Today I thought I would change it up a little for breakfast I had a Total Lean shake from GNC 25g protein. Snacked on almonds. I had lunch at 12:30p.m. which consisted of boiled chicken and pastini, boiled really soft. Took a few bites and could eat no more. Started feeling the slime coming up. Went to bathroom and threw up some mucus. Waited for about 2 hours my stomach started growling so I figured I was hungry, heated up what I didn't at lunch time and ate it slowly and chewed, no problem. Even waited a little bit and had a fruit cup. I feel just fine now. I am 17 months out and have lost 114 lbs. Thought these problems will be over, but I guess they never will. I feel I am starting all over again.
  21. I used Aetna and was approved within 24 hours. They paid everything except for the Assistant in the Surgery room, but I appealed it twice and then they were told they had to pay it and it was paid.
  22. Zumba classes are in Teaneck, on Teaneck Road at Five Star Dance Studio. They are Monday, Wedn, and Friday at 7:30 to 8:30 - $10 for each class.
  23. How is everybody doing? It has been awhile. I have lost 110 lbs since my surgery 9/2010. I have had about 4 or 5 fills. Over the holidays was kind of rough, I needed a fill but was not scheduled until right after Christmas. I have since started losing again. I have about 30 more pounds to go. Good luck to everyone.
  24. I live in Englewood. I am 56 years old. I am not a gym person. Last week I went to Zumba and enjoyed it very much. I will be going again tonight. The classes are in Teaneck and they are $10 a class. I have 2 daughters that are 22 and 24 and they will be going also. I have lost 110 lbs., I had my surgery Sept. 2010. I go to a support group through Englewood hospital, you can join us at anytime. In the support group there are 20 year olds. What Dr. or group did you have your surgery with? I had mine with Dr. Gritsus in Paramus. If you want to get in touch with me my e-mail address is mildred.mjones@gmail.com. Contact me at anytime. Also my name is Mildred.
  25. I just had my yearly physical and blood tests and my thyroid test came back abnormal, Dr. told me I have hyperthyroid. But wants me to take another blood test in about a month and see the outcome of that one before she decides on any medication. I never had any problems with my thyroid before.
