I have the same problem - think about something to eat and then go eat it! I told someone recently that I need a lapband for my brain!! My daughter says maybe I am a food addict - gave me something to think about anyway. I have found that I can't have any big size of crackers, whatever around - the best thing for me is those 100 calorie portioned things. Amazingly, if I know the calorie count conncected right to the serving size - I won't overdo it.

Pre-op got to me too - I got so tired of jello that i just couldn't eat any more of it! I was on optifast and the soups are what saved me - I HAVE NEVER BEEN A BIG "SWEETS" PERSON SO IT WAS HARD TO DO THE DRINKS (oops caps lock) hang in there - it helped me to mark off the time on the calendar and post funny comments on facebook.

So sorry - people can be so awful - even to those they are supposed to love the most. Like my mother-in-law always used to say "Consider the source" and pity her - she isn't a happy person.
Sometimes we just have to find "another mother" someone you like and can look up to as a friend and mentor- and it doesn't have to be anyone related to you or anyone older - maybe just a good friend! Good luck my dear and hang in there!
