  1. I was sleeved on July 19th. After being in revovery for about 2 hours the nurses noticed I wasn't waking up. My blood pressure was dangerously low and when they went to drain my drain, it would not stop and they realized I was bleeding out, right side. I could hear people around me saying how I needed to get to emergency exploritory and opened my eyes twice to see people gasping at what I looked like. I was wisked away and they found a leak in a blood vessel after using a piece of new equiptment through one of the entery areas while doing my sleeve. They didn't know the new tube had little sharp endings on it and it caught when it was being pulled out. Now, I an anemic and have gained 7 pounds, I'm guessing from the massive fulids they have pumped into me.

I'm home now and feeling lucky to be alive but hopeless after gaining 7 pounds.

  2. My surgery is on the 19th as well. I was really excited until the last few days I have felt more scared too. I started my liquid diet today and so far so good. I didn't expect to be ok, but am so far. Just keep your mind on how good this will be for you in the long run and how happy you will be being able to do things you couldn't do before. I can hardly wait to cross my legs!

  3. Hello everyone, my name is Tracy and I have been plus sized since I was a little girl. My surgery is on July 19th and the closer it gets the more I am either totally excited or just plain scared. I only have to do a week long liquid diet so I think I lucked out with that but am afraid I will not be able to do it......I can't think that way.......I will do it. I would love to keep in contact with all of you July sleevers. I am going to Dr. Tersigni in Coos Bay Oregon. He charges 11,000....for self pay, just in case anyone wants to know. Thank you for all of your stories, it has helped me so much get to this point.

  4. Hi, Jen

I am having my surgery on July 19th. I decided that I would just plain tell everyone I know. I'm at the point that if someone doesn't like it or except it then I know who I truly want around me and who I do not.

I too have been reading the blogs and forums and have found it to almost be overwhelming how successful everyone has been. It seems like a God send.

You have to do what makes you feel best. If you want to tell people....do it. If not....don't. Just make sure you feel good about what you chose.

I'm not going to hide any part of my process. I am so excited and live my life a bit of an open book, but that is just me.

I wish you the very best.
