Patty- Thanks for the support. My husband told me the same thing. I was able to walk away from the ice cream Saturday night but yesterday was too much I guess. I have already started with my water this morning and will be having a protein drink soon to get me back on track. Thanks again, you guys are the greatest.

O.K. I need alittle motivational boost. I had a really BAD day today. I cheated alot. I'm supposed to be on mushies but I ate stuff I wasn't supposed to... even the cheese and sausage topping on a piece of pizza. Luckily nothing I ate made me sick, nor do I have any pain from it.... I know I'm bad and I'm trying not too beat myself up over it. I plan on restarting tomorrow with my regular stuff. Does anyone think I did any damamge? Advice please...

    Plastic surgery

Hello- I see you both have Dr. Vernon. I did too... your right, she usually does run late. I'm scheduled for my 4 week followup on 1/19 and I got an early morning appt. so I hopefully won't be there all day. There are some of us getting together next saturday to meet for lunch/dinner. Were you both thinking of going? It will be 3:00pm at Joe's Bar & Grill in the Braintree Mall. It should be fun.
  9. O.K. so DH said no problem on watching the kids. Count me in!:clap2: I look forward to meeting all of you.
  10. I'll check with DH tonight and see if he'll watch the little ones that day. You know men, they usually hate to babysit. If he says yes, I'm in. Thanks aaamom for setting this up, it should be fun.

    Steady losers ;-)

Thanks for inviting me in. Today I am officially 2 weeks post op and have lost 19lbs. I am sitting here right now (officially on mushies) eating my scrambled egg. :clap2: We're gonna see how that goes. I expect my weight to go back up alittle once I start on regular food. That seems to be the concensus from what I've read. I wish you all continued success.

    December Bandsters

Jess- I too was banded on the 21st in Boston. I have lost a total of 17.5lbs. 5lbs of that was done on pre-op liquid diet. I'm feeling o.k. too but I get alittle tugging every once in awhile near my port. Other than that I can't wait for the mushies to kick in here in a few days.
  13. I'm down in Swansea. I usually work till 5 but nights or weekends would be fine. I'm sure I could leave alittle early. I would be willing to drive about an hour, nothing more though please.

    Severe Port Site Pain

I too have port pain/discomfort. It feels like something is constantly tugging when i stand up. I'm not sure if this is normal but I have called the Doc's office to see what they say. I'm just waiting for my return call. I'll let you know what they say. Take care all.

Here's a good question for anyone. Has anyone ever experienced gas pains after drinking Water? I seem to be getting alot of gas during and after drinking water. Can anyone else please tell me if this is normal or if anyone else has had a similar experience. Thanks

Beversman, glad to see your doing well. I'm back home now. Most of my gas pain is gone. I have just alittle lift in my shoulder. My incisions are doing ok too except for the port spot. That one hurts more than I thought. I came home last night to find the kids having burger king for dinner. It smelt both really good and really gross at the same time if that makes any sense. I'm hoping to go back to work on Tuesday but we'll see. Everyone take care and Happy Holidays.
  17. Hi everyone, I'm a newbie to the forum. I have my consultation scheduled for 12/4. I've been reading alot about what to expect after surgery. I've heard that you can have hair loss after the surgery. I'm wondering if people have had that and to what extent. Has anyone lost all their hair like you do with kemotherapy? Sorry I hope I don't offend anyone I'm just real curious about this because there's not alot of info online that I could find. Thank you all for any input.

Beversman- Good Luck with your surgery, everything will be fine. Thanks to everyone for the well wishes. I'm actually at the hospital now just waiting, my surgery was pushed back a bit so I figured I would come here. The nerves have calmed alittle... the stomach is very hungry right now though. I hope I won't be hungry for awhile after the procedure. DH decided, he was hungry too... in the last 3 hours he's had 3 donuts and a double chocolate chip muffin. MEN! Take care everybody, thanks for the support and all the good info all you guys on the forum have provided. This is an awesome place.

    Question for the ladies...

About 10 years ago I had lost alot of weight and went down to 170lbs. I was a DD before the diet, after it I went down to a D. I'm hoping if I loose this time the same will hold true. I'm thinking that I have alot of breast tissue rather than fat tissue because of that. My DH said I could always get implants but I'm not sure I would want to do that. Thanks for the info. I guess I'll just keep my fingers crossed.

My Doc told me I could actually drink the Carnation Instant Breakfast-Sugar Free in the blue box. They are actually not bad. I have lost 6lbs in 6 days with this. I was told that I could have 3 of the shakes per day and eat a regular dinner. I guess every doctor is different but you may want to check with yours and see if you can use the Carnation brand seeing you don't like the taste from the other ones. Good luck.

Patty, glad to see your home and doing well. Hi everyone, well I finally got my date, I'm scheduled for Dec 21st. It all happened so fast, I only met with the doctor on the 4th but she had a cancellation and she slid me right into that spot. I have to say I'm excited but VERY nervous.... I just want everything to go o.k. so I can be back home celebrating Christmas with my 2 kids. Does anyone else have a case of the gitters or is that overtaken by excitement?
  23. Thanks to everyone for your responses, it makes me feel much better. I'm not normally a vain person but I do like my long hair. Have a great day.
