  1. I've been banded almost 5 months and have yet to throw up or PB. She's either too tight or her band slipped. Something isn't right...
  2. I get this too. Except mine seem to go up to the left side of my head. Doctor thought that it was a nerve, and it's definitely my full sign. I avoid it like the plague.
  3. When you have to wear a pad, its embarrassing because there is blood.....I'm well aware of where a catherer goes and where my flow comes from...........
  4. Hahahahahahahaha!!! This cracked me up. I have 6 minutes left in my work day and what a way to end it.
  5. I was on mine too for my last 2 surgeries. The first one I was mortified and actually crying pre-op because I had to have a catheter put in. The LapBand surgery I didn't need a catheter so they just give a monstrosity of a pad and these funky underwear to put on. They've seen worse.
  6. Hi! We had surgery the same day!! I'm not at my sweet spot yet either, I only go about 2 to 3 hours after eating and start feeling hunger pains. I have found however that eating straight up Protein keeps me full way longer. Scrambled eggs and turkey sausage. Or, tuna/chicken salad on a wheat pita. Things of that nature for breakfast or lunch really really keep me full. Oatmeal doesn't keep me full at all. In fact, even after an hour or so of eating it I'm no longer satiated. Maybe if you step up the protein consumption it will help until you get more restriction. We are in bandster hell my dear until we get some restriction. I'm right there with ya at times. Good luck!
  7. I seriously don't/can't burp anymore either, lol. Weirdddddddddd. I'm not complaining or anything, it's just weird.
  8. I can feel mine. It's off to the left side, just under my breast (killed after surgery with my wire bras). It's funny because it's placed on the "skinniest" part of me right at the top of my waist. I'm hoping it won't be popping out when I get skinnier. As of right now it isn't a visible issue.
  9. My surgeon belongs to a center of excellence as well. I had no waiting period, no pre-op diet, I left the hospital on full liquids, I was on normal foods 2 weeks post-op. I met the surgeon 1 time to discuss whether I wanted a Realize band or the LapBand, then saw him again before I went into the OR. All our experiences are different, please don't start out by comparing yourself to others on the board here. You'll be fine!
  10. I'm 5'9 and set a goal of 165. Four to 5 years ago I lost a ton of weight, got down to 178 and was wearing a size 12. Like most of you, I would love to cut up the LB card and never look back. Whatever weight puts me in a comfy size 12 (now that I'm older) I'll be happy.
  11. Glad you're feeling better, Joan. I haven't experienced the too tight sensation yet. Knock on wood...glad you feel better
  12. There's a thread on here somewhere about hair loss and I remember reading that some people--no matter how much protein--still have thinning. Some suggested it was the 'shock' from surgery and anesthesia (which doesn't make sense to me because I had 3 surgeries in 2 years time before the lapband and didn't notice) and I think another suggestion was iron? I'm not very helpful because I don't have the link to the thread, but I know I've read a couple about it. You're lucky you have thick hair, mines fine and curly and I'm starting to see more come out in teh shower.
  13. Thanks for the reply! I'm scheduled for April 4th. Luckily I just have a $25 copay or else this last little bit of tweaking would be brutal on the pocket book! I will definitely post the outcome.
  14. My doctor/nut. never said anything about not having coffee. I have a regular cup every morning at work. FF French vanilla creamer.
  15. Jenn, I had 3cc's in my band straight out of surgery. I get the lump in my throat thing now when I've ate too fast or too much. It's a big red flag (for me) to stop. I also get a bad (feels like surgery gas) pain in my left shoulder that radiates up to my head. So, as soon as I feel that lump...I stop. I'm going to guess that you have some Fluid in your band, or the band itself is restriction for you and that's what you're feeling by the lump. YMMV
  16. Good luck with your port revision! Let us know how you're doing afterwards.
  17. I can eat a burger too, we put it on those sandwich thins. My boyfriend likes the sandwich this too so it works. I can't finish the whole burger but it is an option for me.
  18. Joan, what size band do you have? I'm at 6.25 in a 9cc band. I go next week for a small fill, I'm hoping this will be the one that does it. I'm still feeling hunger pains 2 or so hours after eating a reasonable portion...
  19. Salem. Just over the Illinois border on Lake Michigan. My surgeon was Dr. Chua at Sinai in Milwaukee.
  20. Wow, great job! You look amaaaaazing. I'm sure you feel amazing too!! Congrats.
  21. WHAT?!?!? Bringing the stats down, lol. I was banded 20 days BEFORE you and I've lost 22 lbs. I don't think I'm bringing the stats down. You're doing just fine!!!!! As for an update: I had my 3rd fill last week. I'm at 6.25cc in a 9cc band. And thank you jesus I have restriction finally!!!! I haven't pb'd, slimed or puked yet once during all this, but now if I don't chew something (I still eat bread...in fact I had a toasted sandwich today just fine) I can feel it go down a little slow. I made an appt for a month out and will probably ask for maybe .25 or .5cc and see where I'm at. I'm finally not starving all day!!!
  22. I'm partial because I work for the corporation that makes these, but EAS Protein shakes. Preferably the Myoplex Strawberry Cream. It's YUM. 210 calories, 2.5g of fat and 25 grams of protein in a 14oz bottle. I usually drink 2 a day still.
  23. I have a lump in my throat too. It's a combo of both that gassy left shoulder pain and a lump in my throat. Definitely not comfortable. I haven't really burped since surgery. Three months ago.
