  1. I had my surgery on Feb 4th, I have lost 12 lbs, however...i have not lost a single pound this week, feel a bit bummed out about it. I also went back to work a week later and that was fine, surprised at how fast I felt good. My pre-surgery weight was 206, today I am 194, been there for a week :( Not sure why, I even started walking on the treadmill every other day for 45 min, about 2.5 miles. I hope this is what they call the 3 week stall. Tomorrow will be 3 weeks. Just seems I eat such a little bit and should lose more. I'll remain optimistic though, I know it takes time, just ready to see that scale in the 180's already. Let me know if anyone has any thoughts/inspirations to share. Thanks.

  3. I had my surgery last Friday (a week ago) and went to my follow up today, lost 10lbs!! OMG! I cant believe it. My surgery went very well, no complications, first few days are a little tough, I came home Monday and every day feel better and better. Today I actually feel great, went shopping, etc. No regrets at all. The first week is a bit hard trying to get in all the liquids but it went by really fast. GOOD LUCK ON MONDAY. My surgery day weight was 206, was 196 today!

  4. Hi All,

I am getting sleeved on 2/4, cant wait, I currently weigh 206, need to lose 5lbs before surgery, should be easy, but I have this fear after all of this that I will be the one that only loses 20lbs, I am so pumped to do this, but what scares me is that I am not a big eater, just eat the wrong things. We can all lose weight on liquids only but what happens after that, I am so hopeful though. Let me know if any of you feel like this or felt like this. Would love to hear from any of you that weigh about the same as I do, how much you lost, how you felt the first few weeks after surgery etc. I plan on going back to work 10 days after surgery, I have an office job, not strenuous at all. Any advice, stories etc are welcome. Thanks for your support!!

  6. I am so excited, my surgery date is February 4th! I even bought Isopure today to try the different flavors. The fruit Punch and Orange are fine, taste a bit like gatorade. I was really worried about it since I have heard that it was hard to drink. Hopefully I can get it down. Anyone else having surgery around this time, maybe we can help each other through the process. My surgery time is 3:30 pm on a Friday, so thinking I will be home by Monday I hope.

  7. Hi Lauren!! I weighed 228 and I'm 5'6". I really had an 'easy' time, not much pain. I took pain meds for a week after I left the hospital, but only at night. I was basically pain free. It was uncomfortable to turn over at night and it hurt to cough!! :) I have a nice flat pillow that I kept under my tummy for about a month. (I slept on my side from day one) It made it possible. Like you, I was so ready, and in good health, I think that made the surgery easy for me. I followed the doctor's orders and it got easier and easier every day. I was up and walking down the hall within about four hours after I got back to my room. My biggest challenge was getting in enough fluids and finding a Protein something or other that I could tolerate before I could get it all in with food!! You'll love the sleeve!!! Good luck!!

  8. AMAZING. I am waiting for my surgery date. Do you mind if i ask how much you weighed prior and your height. I am 5'2 and 208, need to lose 8 more lbs before surgery. I am beyond excited to do this. I am more afraid of the surgery (the first couple of days) than anything else. Emotionally and physically I am so ready. What was day one like? I have never had any surgeries ever, other than childbirth.

  9. It has been a while since I have logged on... and I just had my 4th month post op visit with my doctor/nutritionist. I have lost 43 pounds in total and am so EXCITED! I feel great!!

Now, I am a little bit concerned because the NUT said that I am about 50%. He said most gastric sleeve patients lose 65% of their excess weight. So, that would mean, if I weighed 100 pounds over my IDEAL weight then I am expected to lose about 65 pounds and they consider that to be the norm. NOW, I want to lose the 100 pounds that I am over weight by -- but the NUT made me feel like that was not typical and went one to say that when one is heavy it takes more energy and therefore you lose more weight but once you have lost about 65% of the excess weight it is more difficult... So, is he trying to discourage me or, well, I don't know?

So, those of you who have had the surgery and are at the 1 year mark -- did you lose ALL your excess weight or was it the 65% of the EXCESS weight that my NUT was talking about?

I am a new newbie :) I am hoping to have my surgery in December, so excited and still lots of little questions. Can you tell me about the day of surgery, what you experienced, did you have to have catheters, drain tubes etc. I have never had a surgery before other than childbirth, so that part is what freaks me out more that anything. I am having the laprascopic sleeve. Any other details you want to share would be great, pain levels etc.
