    SHED SOME LIGHT

what an awesome guideline.. I wish mine did that for me. I think I need to start listening to my band more....
  2. Sounds like people here are on the right track and you maybe too tight. I can't imagine drinking- it would def come right back up on me. I so a shake for Breakfast (slim-fast), even if not hungry to get some Protein in. Are you drinking your Water? I know when I don't I don't lose- Are you exercising? It's hard to get started, but once you get into it it should help

    SHED SOME LIGHT

I slept on my side from day 1- but couldn't sleep on my tummy for a few weeks. I didn't have any stitches, they closed me up with glue.
  4. Then link from Heather is great. I read it myself and also forwarded it to a friend who was recently banded too. I think doing your own research is key. My surgeon is great and seems to be a bit more personable than some others. We talk and decide together which route I am taking. I chose not to have a fill last month when I went, but he did give my Adiphex to see if we can kick-start my metabolism again and get some more weight loss going again. This site is also a great peer resource
  5. Wow, I can't imagine. I probably would have gained weight. I guess things like that do happen; my band slipped immediately after surgery and I had to have it re-done like 36 hours later. I am glad you are on the right path now......

    Losing Weight.

Congrats!! It is great when people start to notice. I still have trouble with the compliments though

    Just Had Surgery today

When I get stuck one of 2 things happen: the first is when I am a little stuck, like pretty much whenever I eat bread (not too often I assure you). It is uncomfortable, bur I stretch out, hands above my head and that sometimes helps. Other times it doesn't and I go puke it up. Being stuck is a pain in the butt. It's a fact of life now, but I try and avoid it. Kind of feels like something stick in your throat

    DIET PILLS

My doc gave ne Adiphex to get more pounds off. I only take 1/2 a day. Gives me a boost (small) and helps me tons
  11. I am sorry you are having such a bad time! As far as the constipation, I have the same problem since I was banded and I have found that a product like benefiber (goes into liquids) works best for me. Prune juice does the trick too Have you tried warm liquids, maybe decaf tea or broth? May help. I though the Protein shakes were thick and they made me nauseous. I switched to slim-fast
  12. Totally normal. Thank goodness for this site because I went through the same thing and was freaking til I read about it on here. Def normal. It will ease up

    regret city....what have i done?

It is scary when you think about it, but it will be okay. I am a bread fanatic too. As long as it's warm I can eat it. I don't eat it all the time though. I eat TONS of popcorn. It's all about moderation and chewing slowly and taking small bites
  14. I have had a few stray pains. May just have been how u moved

    Recovery Time

It's subjective but I think 5 days later you should be fine to attend trainings, etc. I was on total restrictions for 2 weeks and no lifting for a month- but that was because of an immediate band slip and re-placement within the first 36 hours

    Endoscope

I was absolutely fine after mine. No pain at all. It was over quick felt like I blinked and it was done. If I recall I went our after to lunch with a friend
  17. mauraclegg

    Why dont I feel different?

You are still unrestriced, that's what is going on. Sone are restricted immediately (as I was) some needs some fills to feel the restriction. Just be aware

    Plateau help

Thank you. I barely eat any carbs right now. I basically live on tuna, shredded lettuce and a slimfast shake a day
  19. Wondering if my fellow banders can help me. I hit a kind of plateau in February and I haven't lost more than 4 lbs since then. I have cut my calories down to around 500 and increased activity- didn't help. I have however dropped a pants size. Bur I am discourages by my inability to lose. My doctor was not concerned when I saw him last week. But I am concerned I want to lose more. I am headed for my TT this sumner and I know that will cut a few pounds, but I am frustrates by my ability to L-O-S-E

    Plateau help

Thanks Cindy. I don't know when the last time I had 1200 calories was, but I will give it a try. Instead of just walking I am going to try different exercises too. This is the most frustrated I have been since I got banded
  21. have you talked to your doc? you didn't mention if you are able to take liquids in (hopefully you are). You may have had a bit of an overfill. did you do liquids for 24 hrs after your fill? I would call the doc if I were you, just for peace of mind I know after my last fill (in Feb) I was overfilled and had to have some taken out.. then for like 2 months I was afraid to take in anything

    Getting/Staying Motivated

I think we all have times where we graze on the wrong foods and do things we shouldn't do. Please don't let that discourage you! You will get back on track. I can't imagine being unbanded/unrestricted - I would prob eat a pound of bread and chocolate a day Keep your thoughts positive!! You'll get back o track
  23. My friend's daughter had Botox injections for excessive sweating. It helped her a lot
