I have good haemoglobin levels but my serum ferritin is always way low. I have just finished an online course on anaemia (I'm an RN) and one of the causes can be patients with 'gastric banding'. I wanted to know why this would be so from a general point of view. I don't eat red meat so I always thought that was it. I went to the chat room on Bandsters and a very helpful member suggested this site:Vegan Health Iron Rich Foods http://www.chezbettay.com/pages/health1/h_ironfoods1.html
anyone else have this problem?

'lap Band' Care On The Run
in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Posted
I had a 'Lap Band' inserted 4 years ago and had good follow up care in Coffs Harbour under Dr Andrew Ramsay (highly recommended). I have been working as a contract RM travelling around Australia since and haven't had any follow up care. Does anyone know of a good surgeon on the Central Coast NSW that I could see for a long overdue check up?
