  1. The first two weeks are very hard and it will get easier after that. That sounds like a hard situation to be in! I remember my husband wouldn't even eat a single thing around me for the first two weeks so he wouldn't make me feel bad or tempt me.

Don't let that get you down...it will get easier. You will learn so many things about yourself and you will accomplish so many things that you wouldn't believe were possible before. You will still enjoy food. I am 1.5 years out and am at a point where I can enjoy just about anything I want just in smaller portions. There are certain foods I still have to avoid but being under goal feels so much better than the temporary satisfaction of a little food. Your mind is stronger than your want of food. You can do this. Reach out for support. Do what you have to do but don't cheat. You can cheat the band and lose weight slowly or you can do this the right way. We're here for support. When you see that weight coming off, it's a huge motivator. YOU CAN DO IT!

  2. I am so happy for both of you! Can you believe it is only a couple of days away? It has been a long journey to get to this point and the next part of the journey shall bring so many rewards to your mental and physical health.

Please keep me posted on how everything goes for you because my surgery is coming up and I would love to have your feedback and encouragement. I don't have my date yet, however, I have all my clearances and have my final meeting with the doctor in July. (he's on vacation in June!!!) so we can send in the insurance requirements and hope for an approval!

There are so many emotions involved in this process and I am just happy that we have the ability to speak with eachother. It's amazing the bond you can have with people you don't even know. I will include you in my prayers this evening. Stay brave and strong and know that we are all here for eachother.
