    5.4

Just curious why all your Fluid was taken out? You don't have to share, I'm just nosey! Lol... I'm a snacker! I've had problems with fills, so if I don't snack I get to hungry between meals. Sometimes if I don't finish my meal, I will finish it when I get hungry between my meals. If I finished my meal, I will then snack on a sugar free popsicle, sugar free pudding, almonds, pistachios, turkey bites. It all depends on the calories that I allotted for Snacks that day. .4 can definitely make a difference! I've had .3 be way too much! Good luck and I hope you get the restriction your hoping for!

    A little discouraged

You've gained back the water weight you lost with the stomach virus! Which is not the same as losing fat. So you actually lost 2 real pounds! Congratulations!

Loss of restriction after fill ?????

Definitely call your doctor! I don't think the band has ever stopped me from eating at normal speed, I control that. You should still follow the lap-band rules even though you feel like the band isn't stopping you! Sometimes when you throw all the rules out the window, even what could be good restriction, you can eat around the band!

    do you ever feel hungry??

I have not been able to tolerate fills like some people do. Therefore,I do get hungry sooner than every 4 hours. However, I can be satisfied on less food per meal than prior to surgery. I am also able to eat more that a cup of food per meal. Probably closer to 2 cups. But if I stay within my calories allotted per day I don't feel that really matters a lot. Good luck on making your decision!

  7. There is a pitcher at Bed, Bath and Beyond that holds cut fruit in the middle in a cylinder. You add water to the pitcher and the fruit flavors your water. Just got done making one with strawberries, raspberries, and pineapple. It's awesome! In the summer it's very refreshing when you put in cucumbers!

    Time off work

I think it depends on how your body deals with pain. I'm not one that sits around and thinks about it. I had my surgery on Thusrsday and was back to work on Monday. I found that to be plenty of time. Good luck!
  9. You may be able to eat that much because your eating too fast. If you were still following the rules of small bites, chewing, and eating slowly it would have taken you over an hour to eat all that. This is how you eat around the band! If you test the band like this to often you could risk doing damage. Even when we CAN eat like that doesn't mean we should! You still need to follow the rules until you can get another fill. I hope you find restriction with your next visit!
  10. Congratulations! I'm so glad that there is nothing seriously wrong! You'll have to keep up posted on your progress! The 17 th will be here before you know it!
  11. Sounds like your excited about taking care of yourself! That's so awesome! You can do anything you set your mind to!
  12. Congratulations on your success!!
  13. I'm a private person when it comes to personal issues. My family knew and that was about it. Like Terry, anyone who asks me how I did it I will share that I have the band. I just didnt feel I needed to shout it from the rooftop. I'm not ashamed that I needed extra help with controlling my food addiction. People that would approach me and ask this question also know the work I have put into regaining my health. Good luck!

    Snacks or no snacks?

There are certain things that I find flexible and one would be snacks. I do stick to a certain amount of protien and calories per day. So if one day i dont finish my lunch, if I get hungry before dinner I may finish what I didn't eat at lunch. Same for dinner. I don't think it matters when I eat it as long as I'm not overeating during the day. I leave 150-200 calories extra every day just in case I eat all my meals and still need a snack. You will have to find what works for you, I don't think there is a right or wrong because we are all so different! Good luck!

    Is it cheating?

It's not like your winning something. This is just challenge to keep yourself on track and accountable! Going on liquids to reach the monthly goal is not accomplishing anything if when you eat solids on April 1st you gain back the weight because you lost only water weight! This shouldn't be a race or a quick fix fad! Make your goals realistic! 1-2 pounds a week. This way you won't be discouraged or frustrated by not obtaining unrealistic numbers! Remember, it's a goal, you won't be ridiculed for not reaching it! Congratulation on your weight loss so far! It's going to take time to regain your body and health, just be patient and do it safely by following the lap-band rules as best as you can!

    Downers

So many people lose over 100 pounds! One very successful woman on this site just lost 200 pounds as of today! Your co-worker may just be intimidated because it has taken her 3 years to do what you have done in less than a year! Probably a little envious! These are the times when you find out the character of those around you! Some are excited for people's successes in life and some find others success as a reflection of their failures! I choose to be inspired by others not intimidated! Don't let anyone get you down! Only you can determine how much you will lose! Congratulations on your success!
  20. laurigee

I finally did it. I've lost 200 pounds

Congratulations!!! And people question whether or not the lap-band works? You are an inspiration to us all! My prayers are with you and your family!
  21. I'll agree, attraction to someone is what gets you in the door, but your heart is what keeps him coming home to you! I have lost a lot of weight and I'm a girl that will always have curves! Healthy and thinner doesn't have to mean shapeless! Don't worry yourself about something that COULD happen! If you do that you will miss the joy of the moment!

    Feeling Down

Are you taking pain meds? Sometimes they can have that side effect! Also, you just had surgery! Your body has gone through alot and I'm sure your mind is racing with thoughts! Walking is a great idea! Not moving as much or as fast can definitely be depressing. You have a routine that is being interrupted. Your probably not getting the personal interaction every day that your use to! Don't get down! You have just made a decision that will change your life for the better! Cheer up!!!!
  23. laurigee

    Thank you all !!!

Coming to this site has helped me stay on track! You will find amazing people willing to listen and help you throughout your journey! They will give you a shoulder to cry on, a pat on the back, and a kick in the butt when needed! Welcome!
  24. laurigee

    stayin strong..

First off, congratulations on your band! Second, you should consult your surgeon, but I was not told that I could not walk. My surgeon actually encouraged it! As long as your not doing an intense workout I can't see why walking would be a problem.
  25. Your right, loritab can be crushed because it is an immediate release medication not an extended release! The main ingredient is acetaminophen! A lot of doctors will give pain meds that are extended release so you don't have to take it as frequently. That's why I wrote in my post it was with extended release meds!
