Great! I will check them out. Worst case I will stick with this one, as our family will still be in this area, so we can just make a family trip home to visit relatives and I can get a fill done as well. Somehow I will work it out because I didn't go through all of this to lose out now!

I had that on my left side, and it was close to an incision. Doctor said it was scar tissue, and sure enough after a few days of moving around it went away.

I just accepted a job offer for the Greeley, Colorado area. We plan to relocate from the KC Missouri area to Fort Collins or Loveland. I will need to find a new doctor to do my fills, as I will only have fill #2 comlpeted by the time we move. Any suggestions? I don't know if my new insurance will cover anything on it so I might have to be self pay......

A lady I worked with had the band and had her gall bladder removed after wards due to issues. I had some issues last week with health and the doctor at first thought it could be that, so there seems to be some stronge connections between the WLS and gall bladder issues, but my doctor didn't really seem concerned about it.

My question would be why you would consider marrying someone who would try to control you in such a way. A man who tries to cut you off from any support is often a man that will become physically abusive. Since he is already being emotionally abusive that is a very short leap to physical abuse. Personally I would be running in the other direction, fast!I totally agree. My husband of 19 years encourages me to talk to fellow banders. He wants me to succeed and he knows that he is the only one for me so he doesn't even think about these things being a risk. RUN my dear, RUN fast!

Okay so I did what was suggested took some benadryl and the swelling with the band went down. I did not get a fill, and am very grateful I ddin't because as all this was going on I got either the flu, or a cold, or something, but for two weeks solid I was unable to eat anything. It wouldn't get stuck, I didn't vomit, but I just couldn't stand the thought of eating ANYTHING. I even struggled with Water. I ended up dehydrated, with a fever of 102. ( and low on potassium). But finally almost two solid weeks later I feel so much better, and because of the lack of eating I don't feel as hungry in between eatings even though I haven't had that second fill! I go in for that next week.
So what did I learn? I am so afraid of getting anything stuck again that I am REALLY paying attention to all the rules and not pushing things AT ALL. I ended up with some air issues as I had drank a couple swallows of pop from my husband (out of a straw) and I paid for it during all that. I am no longer eating bread at all and I listen to my body a lot more. Sad it took all that!!!:grouphug:

Could simply be that now your body is used to the foreign object in your body so it won't react so "extreme" to it being banded. But it is a great question for your doctor.

Was only able to leave a message for the nurse. so now the waiting game is on!

Good question. I got them yesterday during my lunch incident and wonder if it caused some issues. I do feel something though. Just waiting another 5 minutes for my doctor's office to open so I can see if they can get me in sooner.

My Doc put me on 2 days clear liquids followed by 5 days of full liquids and then 3 weeks of Mushies/pureed food and then soft to maintainence foods for week 4+. Every Doc is different so I would suggest you call the office to be sure what plan he wants you to follow.:ohmy:That was the same diet for me as well.

I am two months post op and find I still have some issues, Generally after an "incident" or if I laugh and take in a lot of air, the pain settles just like the gas from the surgery.
-
That is what I keep trying to tell my husband as he is very concerned. I didn't want him to know I was as well! Thank you for information.
There is a little drug store within walking distance from my work so I might see if they have some liquid benadryl and give that a shot. This is almost as painful as the gas pain from the surgery!

I would do the tummy and boob's at the same time. The cost to do them both at the same time is not much more then one at a time. I want to have my bat wings gone as well but I am thinking I can hide those a bit more, becuase I NEVER were tank tops or sleevless shirts. But standing in the mirror or in front ofhubby with the saggy boob's and flap of skin on my stomach is not real encouraging....

Okay so yesterday I had a deviled egg for lunch, it didn't work out and ended coming back up, but it was not like the last time I got stuck. It took longer than it did then and I never really felt the relieve I did last time. So I thought I would stick with mushies for dinner, and they didn't stay down either. Now my band hurts, almost the same pain when something is stuck, but I don't feel like I need to bring anything up. It just hurts. If I move wrong it causes a pain in my lower stomach, but if I get myself in the right position I am fine. I have a headache as well (which could be dehydration because I wasn't able to get myself to drink anything last night after all this because of the pain). Water is going down okay so far this morning, but I have only had about 3 sips as my day is just really starting. My stomach is growling like it is hungry, but the thought of eating actually makes me sick to my stomach....I feel very bloated and just overall "yucky"
Any suggestions? And yes I know the normal one "call your doctor" but I have an appointment today anyway for my second fill, I was just wondering if anyone had this happen to them and if so what did you do? I will discuss with my doctor and see if I should hold off on the fill or not. I haven't vomitted since dinner last night, so I don't think my band slipped, but...........

Just prayers! You will do just fine. The surgery went so quick for me, and the pain from the actual surgery was NOTHING. I have had a couple of surgery's including a c-section and a hysterectomy and they hurt, but this one was NOTHING! I was up and going right away!!! You will do great!

They also say using a rolling pin on the problem area helps break up the fatty tissue so it will disolve and go away. I have actually had some luck with htis, mixed with diet and excercise. I dont' have a lot of the cellulite, even as large as I am, but you massage it, whether that is with a rolling pin or just rubbing lotion on, and it helps break it down.

It depends on the insurance. It covered some of my stuff as part of my coverage, and others I had to pay for as part of my deductible, and some went to co-insurance, and in the end, like Kagead said, it all added up to my out of pocket maximum. I am still waiting on the final bill from the hospital, as I got the one saying they billed my insurance X amount, and now I have to see what insurance pays, what they won't pay and what the hospital really expects after that. I know my best friend, got a bill showing they billed her insurance some ungodly amount, and then the insurance replied back that they were paying a specific amount, and she was waiting for the bill on teh reamining amount, and the hospital wrote it all off, said they collected what they could from insurance and the rest that was deemed "reasonable" charges was not enough to bill, so she was free from it! Many providers bill the top amount and then through contracts with the various insurance companies they actually only get a small percentage of that, so we shall see what they really expect from me!

I think the funniest thing that I have dealt with through all of this is that you actually are full after you are done. I was thinking but I love this food or that food and now I am only going to be able to have a couple bites, how is that going to make me happy? but you know what? It does. Two bites of that food now makes me feel EXACTLY like 20 bites did before. I feel full, I feel satisfied, I feel that "drug induced" high that you get from that food, just now you do it with less bites!!!! It is really crazy the way it works, but it does.

Mine was liquid, so I had to do protien shakes and then liquid could include sugar free popsicles, broth, sugar free Jello, things like that. Soup was only the broth, so if you did chicken noodle you couldn't have the chicken or noodle, only the broth, It was difficult, you get hungry, and all you can do is drink. And we had two lunch meetings at work that week, but I managed to do it! I only cheated once by eating some Sugar Free Chocolate pudding. It got me through though!

You can actually get approved before you finish the diet. They would approve you based on the fact that you are doing it now and your approval would be dated to start after the required time on the diet.

Keep your chin up! It is so frustrating. I broke down crying at one point when they said it was going to take about a month after my insurance approved before they could get me on the schedule. I wanted it NOW! But God is great, and He not only had insurance approve me in a weeks time, but also had an opening on their schedule so that I was in two weeks later! I wanted so bad to have the surgery in April so I could lose weight before my sons graduation, and whiel I didn't get what I wanted in terms of weight loss, I did get the surgery on 4/29, so I made that date, and I lost 10 lbs before his graduation so at least I was on the way!

We are doing a 'video' shoot. We did it the day of my pre-op appointment and then have done it every week since, up to about 3 weeks ago, I have been bad on remembering to do it! I agree. i was not looking at myself completely and would see others and say I am not that fat. Especially like on biggest looser, and then you see their weight and UM, yeah you are that fat.....this has allowed me to see myself for what I really had become and as depressing as it has been at least I can say bye bye to it at the same time! I am only a about a month and a half out but I am so excited about the changes I have already seen. Clothes fit different, I can tell a difference in my stomach and how it is now compared to what I was dealing wtih before. I haven't compared the pictures yet, but I can tell a difference already!

I went through the same thing, got a cold or the flu or something and I am still fighting tightness and it is 3 weeks later. Nothing really sticking, but I do have to be more careful!
