  1. I was just banded on Wed Dec 8th. I have a lot of shoulder pain and painful gas. It seems the more I move the better it feels. I am having quite a bit of pain as was my roommate. She had her procedure done by my dr immediately after mine. I am not finding the liquid pain killer they gave me to be too effective unfortunately.

I find it interesting what other doctors tell their patients that they can eat. I am on Clear Liquids until tomorrow when I can go back to my Protein shakes and some yogurt.

I look forward to this journey with the rest of you. :D

  2. Hey Revolver,

I went through the 6 month thing. It's not a bad thing. I had a nice nutritionist and I had appointments with her every month. I really learned what to eat and I felt so much better after those 6 months of eating well.

My approval finally came in this week. My letter says I'm approved for 12/6 but the surgeon's office said that they will set my date during my pre-op appointment on Nov 4th. I can't believe I'm almost there!!!! FINALLY!

    Lucy,

How are things going for you??

  3. Hey everyone! I finally got my approval letter from my insurance company. The letter said 12/6 but we'll see what my Dr says at my pre-op appointment on November 4th. I'll be happy with the 6th just because I don't feel like having it before Thanksgiving. LOL! Looking forward to getting to know everyone! :)

  4. Congrats to everyone who's been banded so far this month! I finally got my letter of approval from my insurance company but I won't even have my pre-op until November and the date on the letter said 12/6. So I'll either be a November or, more likely, a December bandster. Hope everyone who has been banded so far this month is doing well! :)

  5. WOW!! Tomorrow is October! Good luck to those of you who have their surgeries in the next couple of days!

    Good luck tomorrow soulsista!

I finally got all my stuff in and they sent my case in for approval. I am looking forward to getting my new "birthdate" very soon!

  6. Hi all! I'm not "officially" scheduled yet but my hoops I had to jump through for my insurance are done. I had one test my dr required because of the possibility that I had some esophageal dysmotility that has been holding me up. I finally had that done Tuesday morning. I should be getting my results tomorrow and they should be submitting my paperwork. By the numbers the dr's office told me as far as how long approval takes, it looks like I will be an October surgery too. :blushing:

I look forward to getting to know everyone.

  7. My date has been pushed back due to the possibility of Esophageal Dysmotility. I had my motility study done Tuesday morning. NOT FUN! My throat was raw all day long after that. :blushing: BUT I should get my results tomorrow and I'll be able to get them to the DR and get them to submit my paperwork. So after an extra month delay I should finally "officially" be able to set my date. :couch2:

  8. Hello from CT! My name is Nicole. I am currently jumping through my "hoops" to get my approval. In 2 months I have completed 85% of my insurance requirements for approval. My tentative date is September.

I am 37 years old. I have been morbidly obese for 18 years. I am a Passion Parties Executive Director. I have 2 boys and have been with my husband for 18 years also. :smile2:

I WAS avidly against weight loss surgery because my MIL had the gastric bypass and almost died. It wasn't until I switched doctors last June that I even started thinking about it for myself. It took me until March of this year to actually move along and DO something with the referrals my doctor kept giving me.

I look forward to getting to know everyone. I am a person who needs to be completely prepared when I do something. SO I am happy to have this place to gather all the information I'll need so that I am armed and ready when it's "time".

    Have a SUPER day!

    Nicole

  9. Dr. Tishler is a phenomenal doctor. He doesn't just speak AT you, he speaks TO you. He is calming, pleasant and delightful. My sister in law had her surgery with him also and she loves him too.

His office staff is phenomenal also. They know exactly what steps you need to go through to get approval. They give you a checklist, remind you of your visits with them, have a dietician on staff so you don't have to go looking for someone, and are ALWAYS pleasant!
