  1. Thanks everyone! Did anyone else feel like their face was burning up with fever? Checked temp and is normal but my face is so hot.
  2. WOW!! Can't believe its done. Feeling sore, but overall pretty good. Will be home tomorrow.
  3. Good luck to you too!! Keep me posted on your success! :-)
  4. Congratulations!! Your story is comforting to me. I go for my banding in the morning and have been quite anxious. I have been reading some stories of others to get me through the night. Won't sleep much tonight so I this is where I will be....reading of success stories like yours. Good luck with your journey!
  5. Awesome!! Its moments like that that mean so much! Congrats on the success!!
  6. Thank you for Sharing. You are such an inspiration. I am getting banded in the morning and reading your story gives me great hope and eases some of the fear. So again....thank you!!
  7. Yaaaaaay!! You must be so happy!! Please keep me posted. I go for mine in the morning. :-)
  8. Thank you! I will check that out!
  9. Just was told to be at the hospital at 9am tomorrow to begin my new life with my new best friend the band. I am incredibly nervous but I can't wait to start a new chapter. I have a feeling I will not sleep very much tonight. What should I bring with me (I will be staying one night)?
  10. Congrats and good luck! I get banded on Wednesday. Please keep us posted!
  11. I thought I was the only one feeling a great lack of energy during pre op diet so I asked my doctor. He told me it is normal. My body is coming down of of the sugar rush it is used to. My body has depended on sugar for so long that its not used to this. He also said the people who choose not to follow the diet end up (usually) crashing worse after surgery because its like quitting sugar cold turkey instead of letting your body get used to things. It makes sense now and hearing other people talk about the lack of energy makes me feel less crazy...lol!! Good luck to you!!
  12. Awesome!! You look great!!
  13. You look great!! I hope I have as much success as you've had!! Way to go!!
  14. Good luck!! I go Wednesday so I know the feelings you are having. The closer I get the more nervous and excited I get. Also it seems I am having more questions pop up in my head....making sure I am ready. I think this will be the best decision you (and I) could ever have made. Here's to new beginnings! :-)
  15. You look awesome! What an inspiration. I can't wait (January 30)! Great job!
  16. Thanks! I never thought food had THAT much control over me. Guess I was wrong. Well not for long....lol. :-)
  17. Thank you to everyone! It makes me feel so good to read all of the comments. I am overwhelmed by all the love and support here. I have read so many of your stories and feel so inspired by all of you. I know I will be successful with my journey and feel great knowing we are all here for the same reason supporting each other. I have a bunch of support from friends and family but I don't know anyone personally who has gone through this and could truly understand! Thanks again!! 6 days until the new banded me!!
  18. OK I just have to share. This is a very small victory but a victory still. I have been on my pre op diet since January 16th and its been going pretty well. I figured I made it past the hardest part with great success so it should be smooth sailing until banding on the 30th. WRONG!! yesterday I was craving everything... ice cream, pizza, chocolate, you name it I wanted it. My son had m&m's and I considered just one (what could it hurt right?lol). Now here comes my proud moment.....I MADE IT THROUGH THE WHOLE DAY WITHOUT CHEATING!!! Yaaaay! Like I said....a small victory for most but to me it was like climbing Mt Everest. Today I am back to feeling good about things and so far no cravings. I know there will be many more days like yesterday in my new future but I now feel confident I can get through them and still be here the next day to feel proud again. Thanks for listening to me "brag"!! :-)
  19. I was kidding about the 6 months but I have been married for quite a while and we have 6 kids....a little break is OK...lol
  20. Thank you. I have been reading so many posts about liquid diets and am nervous my liver will not be OK for surgery because I am eating real food. I completely trust my doctor but can't help thinking something will happen to delay or stop the banding. I am generally a positive person.....just tired and antsy I guess. Thanks again for the encouragement. :-)
  21. Hello, I have been a member here since 2010 and this is my first post. I am scheduled to be banded January 30th and have been on the pre op diet since Wednesday. I am not on a liquid diet but 1000 calorie low carb diet and other than being tired its going well. I am getting a bit nervous though about the surgery... any words of advice or encouragement?? Thanks!
  22. My banding is January 30 and I plan to wait at least 6 months...lol (but don't tell my husband)!
