February 2007 bandsters!
Hi all, Had my surgery Tues. Feb. 13, all went well, lots of gas bubbles and don't even feel hungry, today sipping on protein shake, feel alittle better, getting up and getting around helps releive the gas. I pray each day it gets a little better, right now It feels like someone ran me over, and backed up!! I'm not sure what I have lost because I told myself I was not going to be obsessed with weighing myself, I'm going to wait till Tues. when I see my Dr. I will post then. Have a great day Minnesotalady:tired

February 2007 bandsters!
Hi all, fist day on 10 day liquid diet, I already feel skinny! It's amazing how much better you feel by not gorging yourself with food. I know it won't be easy as the days go, but I have determination that this will work. I will take one day at a time. I had a feeling of fear last night, If I can describe it as that, I'm not sure how else to describe it, that I can never eat like I once did, I even felt kind of like I was hyperventalating, I had to talk to myself to calm myself, has anyone experienced this?I hope it's normal! take care, Minnesotalady

Starting preop diet soon.... any suggestions?
Hi, Looking for any comments on what I should be looking forward to, or anyone have good advise to follow from your own experiences. I would love to hear. I think I will need lots of support for these 10 days, and beyond And also any positive things anyone can tell me would be great, I'm getting a little nervous about the whole pursedure, I think anything positive that you have to share about your own lapband journey would help out a great deal. Thanks and god bless! Minnesotalady

LapBand Food Stages Lists Suggestions
Hi, from what I have read is that Beans are suppose to be good for you. They have lots of Protein and I'm sure they are good for the lapband because they are mushy. I've read that alot of people when they go to a taco joint ,that is what they order is refried beans. I hope this helps. Have fun tonight. Wishing you continued success, you go girl!! waiting to be banded
Hi all, Been lurking around the site for a while now so I thought I would introduce myself. I have been going through the process since about Nov. not very long but things are moving quit fast, I'm waiting for the insurance to ok me for the surgery. (papers have been sent) It seems like it is taking forever, I want to get this done so bad. I have a very sore back, HBP, bad veins and a BMI of 41. I have lost weight lots of times on the adkins diet but it always seemed to find me. So after lots of thought, I have desided to do the lapband. I can't wait to be banded, It seems to have helped so many of you on this site. congrats to all you successfull lapbanders. It just seems to be the safest thing to do, I'm sure it's not easy, but what is in life...... So, wish me luck and I hope I'm back real soon to tell you all my banding date, wish me luck............... Minnesotalady

Hi In MN
I'm from MN. also I live in west central MN. I used to live in Burnsville, MN. Welcome and good luck to you on your weight loss journey. I started my journey in Oct, 2006, and I'm almost to the banding...hopefully, providing my insurance excepts me( so many hoops) but I am willing to do what I have to get healthy. I have chronic back pain, HBP, bad veins..... It sucks! But I'm patiently waiting for the Banding. I can't suggest any Dr. for you but I can tell you this you have come to the right place for support, they are so great here. Good Luck! let us know how it goes. Minnesotalady:D

I can't wait until Wednesday
Hi, I am also going through the insurance paper work process, It seems like it is going to take forever! But we just have to hang in there and be patient. The way I look at it is we don't want to hurry them with the letters we want them to get everything down so they don't miss anything inportant that will hinder our getting the surgery done, so be patient, I guess. It's worth the wait! We will soon be on to skinny land! good luck Minnesotalady
