Hi, First of all beer is a no-no, the fermentation of the beer acts like carbonation in soda.lapbanders are not supposed to drink sodas, sparkling wines or beer They can expand the pouch & cause band slippage.If you eat whatever you like, you are not going to lose the weight. Remember the band is a tool & you have to work with it to achieve success.

Carol, You have lost 71 lbs since June 2010! Fantastic! What more does the Doc expect from you... I think he is being over aggressive, average weight loss is supposed to be 8 lbs a month.

I order my Syntrax Nectar & Labrada protein bars from DaMuscle. I think the Bariatric Pantry is more expensive than the other sites I've searched. -

The incisions should be healed by now. Go for it1 -
Eat a high Protein,low carb diet. The protein keeps you satisfied longer. You should be able to go 4 hr. between meals. You need to figure out if you are physically hungry{stomach growling} or "head hungry". You might need a slight unfill to tolerate proper food intake instead of the "slider foods"

You are doing great! I think you need to eat more with all the workout you are doing. Make sure you are eating high protein/low carbs. If you are feeling hunger less than 4hr between meals I think you need to eat more than 3/4c. -
I went home 4hr. after the surgery...however you must understand every patient is different& how one reacts to anesthesia,pain, tolerating liquids,etc. I had no problems what so ever.

I happen to be the nurse that recovers the bariatric patients on the surgical unit. My co-workers have also my mantra of walking. It has been 3 1/2months since my lapband& have already lost 58 lbs. I walk 4 1/2 miles 3-5 days a week. -

Ladies, For those of you using a diaphragm for birth control... losing & gaining weight makes adifference in sizing of your diaphragm & proper fit. Since I'm past the age for birth control, I don't know if it is a popular option for bc these days. So yes your vagina could become tighter,especially if you have not had a vaginal delivery

Amanda, I am a surgical nurse on post -op unit that is why I asked you about the surgical adhesive & cleaning the incision. From your picture I'm thinking the dermabond was applied with blood& betadine still on skin. By the way I'm the one who gave you the info on Syntrax! -

Before you "jump the gun" on the infection idea... do you have an opsite over the incision or surgical adhesive? Have you showered & cleaned the incision? I can't tell from your picture.
