  1. I am being banded on 5/17 too!!! I'd love to have a buddy as well. I have only told about 4-5 people so I would love more people to talk about it with.....especially those that would understand.

    I had my pre-op visit today and start the liquid diet tomorrow. For dinner I can have chicken/fish plus steamed veggies too. Funny how all doc are different.

    They said I would not have to stay the night but I am not scheduled until 10:45 so I have to spend the night now. Oh well. I guess it is for the best.

    This is exciting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)


  2. I feel for you. My ins company did not have a weigth loss requirement but my doc said to lose 14 lbs. I lost 9 and they said a slong as I maintained I'd be ok. I have changed a ton of habits and worked very hard at changing them. Yes, I stil have a few more to work on but I've done a lot this year so far. I was approved by insurance and am scheduled for 5/17. Tuesday I go in for my pre-op visit and they will put me on a 5 day liquid diet which I am starting tomorrow....I feel mentally ready so why not. I am disapointed that I am only down 9 lbs since Jan though so I do understand your feelings. I know that once I have the surgery next week the few habits I have left will be easier to work threw and the weight will come off.

    Hang in there and and remembere to change one habit at a time!!!!


  3. I have another!! I actually do like the shakes so I like hearing the variety. Here is another.

    sugar free Banana bread Protein shake

    Mix all ingredients in blender on high speed. Makes approximately one 20oz. shake loaded with protein and tastes just like banana bread without the fat or sugar!:thumbup:


  4. Good morning!!! I'm hoing we could all share our favorite Protein shake recipes. I'm looking to add to my recipe book and get more variety!!! :thumbup:

    I have 1 that I really like:

    Hazelnut Mochachinno

    8 oz skim milk

    1 scoop chocolate Protein powder

    1 tbsp Decaf instant coffee

    1 packet splenda

    1 tbsp SF hazelnut Syrup

    Put it in a shaker bottle and add a few ice cubes. I usually let it set overnight so the flavors blend but you can drink immediately. I also have put in the blender to make an icy coffee drink. 190 calories & 22g protein!!! It keeps me full for hours!!!! Yummy!:o


  5. I feel for you. Anyone who has never had a weight issue just wont get it.

    There are a group in my office that are die hard gym people and wont eat anything bad...but they are also miserable and feed on each other. I chose to NOT tell anyone because I knew they may (and I say may) say something nice to my face to be professional but behind my back they would be mean. Plus I knew they wouldnt think I lost the with myself.

    What they dont get is how hard we still have to work even after having the band. Nor do they care because people like this are self absorbed. IGNORE THEM!!!! This is for you!!

    You should have told her this isnor different than her getting liposuction. She didnt make that much of a lifestyle change if she had enough fat for that!!!!! :thumbup:


  6. Hi everyone. I received my insurance acceptance today and am VERY excited!!! Monday the doc office said they would call me back to make all of the appointments but it looks like I will be on May 13th!!! I am scared, nervous, excited!! But I am glad to be on this board and share it with someone. I have only told 3 people. I dont think my work or some friends would be supportive and I just dont want to got threw it. So I am excited to be on this board!! :thumbup:
