  1. I get my (vanilla flavored) almond milk from walmart. It's really yummy in my vanilla shakes. I generally Bariatric Advantage Vanilla flavored powder for my shakes.

    There are actually many drinks out there that leave out the carbonation. I usually go drinks like a White Russian or shots of liquid Marijuana. You could also have a margarita, martini, wine, screwdriver, Cranberry Vodka, Royal F***, Pina Colada, Bloody Mary, Black Russian, Godiva chocolate liqueur + cream Shots, etc... You could always just drink the liquor straight. My favorite is Captain Morgan's Tattoo Rum... It's yummy. The only problems I have with alcohol is that my tolerance for it has decreased. I usually can handle only one drink compared to the 5+ I could handle pre-op. Just try to keep the drinking to a minimal because it will prevent or greatly decrease weight loss. (Believe me...I tested this theory out)

    Clothing Sizes

    Also, remember that women's sizes are different from regular sizes. I only just realized this in the past month.. The sizes go from a Women's 18, 16, 14 to a regular 18, 16, 14, etc.. Why can't they just have it go by your measurements or something? It would be nice if they just TRIED to make it a little less complicated.

  6. I no longer get that "full" feeling. I have only three modes now: (1) I'm kinda hungry (2) I'm not hungry (3) GET OUTA MY WAY I'M GONNA HURL!!! You learn quickly what your limits are. Just always remember don't eat out of a standard sized plate. (the smaller the plate the better).If possible use smaller utinsils and chew like your life depended on in. I'm 4 or 5 months out now and I really don't miss food. In fact, I have to remind myself to eat now. That is just plain weird for me.

  8. For me it stopped being a diet once it became a habit. My pre-op habit was to order greasy cheese burgers with a double order of fries and a Dr. Pepper. After I started my diet I cut out the grease/bread/bad-for-you foods. Soon it became a habit to order a small cut of meat with veggies and Water every time. I am a very habitual person. I go to the same places and do this same thing almost everyday. Once I altered my habits, it became pretty easy. At the moment I don't worry about my daily calorie count. I worry more about whether or not what I am consuming is healthy and not to over-eat.
  9. Many people like isopure there are several flavors to choose from and has TONS of protein in it, but I can't stand the texture of it and it makes my mouth feel super dry. Some people do the high protein SlimFast or Muscle Milk. I love Bariatric Advantage (vanilla flavored). It's a great foundation for my shakes (23 grams protein). I toss in some greak yogurt (10 grams protein), peanut butter (8 grams protein), and a banana (roughly 350 calories and 41 grams of protein). I usually only drink it in the morning since I can't eat anything solid and I need a good boost of calories so I can make it through my classes. Usually you can try out small samples of different protein shakes. Try everything you see, because you may be surprised about what you like.

  12. I went cold turkey. I used to drink Dr. Pepper like it was going out of style. After I quite I had killer headaches for a while. Now about 3 months out I tried a sip of the good old DP and it is soooo nasty.

    Oh I have an embarrasing story. Before surgery they made me go to the restroom... only I couldn't. So they hooked me up to an I.V. and finally about an hour later I was able to go to the potty. Anyways (fast forward to about an hour and a half later), I woke up from anesthesia (I always have extreme nausia from anesthesia) and I started hurling every two seconds. Well apparently that saline really hydrated me and I peed myself everytime I hurled. I was sooo embarressed. I went to the restroom to get myself cleaned up (I was covered in piss). The entire walk to the restroom I was hurling and peeing myself infront of at least five nurses and a few patients. I had a nice trail of urine following me. Hopefully they will never see me again....

    I would expose the boobs to b/f if it was unpreventable and I didn't have a wrap or couldn't get away. I would do anything for my child. To be frankm I think if anyone is offended then they could go F themselves. My child is more important than some random odd ball feeling "uncomfortable". If you felt uncomfortable looking at somebody (because they're weird, creepy, or ugly) would you ask them to put a bag over their head? Probably not... because that's just plain rude!

    My guy (really skinny) decided that he needed to workout and get all muscley so that he can not only feel like he deserves me but he can also beat up the guys who hit on me. :wub:

    anything greasy Grilled cheese with extra buttered toast Double bacon cheese burger with all the veggies Beef supreme Chalupa (taco bell) chicken strips Fried taters Fortunately I can't even think about eating bread/tortillias without wanting to vomit. I also get really sick if I eat anything deep fried. The band help keep me in line. Yay!?
  17. Lets see, for a whole month I worked out and lost about 10 lbs. I didn't work out the next month and lost 6 lbs. I also lost about twice the inches when I worked out compared to not working out. So just by doing this little experiment I found that it is DEFINATELY benificial to work out. You may still get smaller by not working out but what good are you REALLY doing by just losing weight and not exercizing? The benifits of working out are to improve blood circulation, strengthen the heart, increase muscle tone, increase lung capacity, and strengthen bone density. By not working out, you do not benifit your heart, lungs, muscular or bone structure. Plus, as you lose weight (without exercizing) you are threatening losing muscle tone. Think of it this way... most overweight people have strong legs (because of carrying around a massive quantity of weight). As you lose weight, your legs are not put under as much stress. Therefore, you legs are not getting as good a workout as they used to. (ever hear the saying "use it or lose it") You will begin to lose your muscle tone in your legs due to lack of use. And that's just my 2 cents... I hope it was helpful!

    Ring Guards

    look into getting "ring snuggies" (roughly $3.00 and you can buy them online) they are basically sizers that will help you wear your rings if they are getting too loose. The only problem I've come across is that my fingers are even too small to fit into my rings WITH the snuggies on... So I just wear my ring as a necklace and when I get to goal (close to the time I'm getting married) my guy is just going to buy me a new set of rings.

  20. My rear end!!!!!!! I've lost 4 1/4 inches off of it and only 1 1/2 or less everywhere else.... BUMmer.... It was my favorite ASSet sorry I couldn't resist :cursing:

    Speed Eater!!!

    I've always been a fast eater and I've been trying to find ways to slow it down. I found that the only thing that works for me at the moment is to either talk with someone or get on the internet while eating. This way I have to take several breaks between bites. What do you do? Have you ever had a problem with eating too quickly?
  22. It gets alot better the further you get from surgery. I still can't do any gnarly man burps but I'm able to at least let them out now.

    Confession

    I don't work out on the weekends because I get to see my fiance on those days. Instead I have crazy monkey sex to help burn the calories. They say you burn 130 calories for every 30 minutes. So we just have multiple sessions each day for an hour at a time. He has great stamina and loves that I'm taking the initiative. I really hope I'm not the only one who does this...
