  1. I walked into a bay or hallway with comfy lounge chairs and curtains to separate then. I changed into the surgical gown (nada on underneath) some comfy purple socks with raised tread on bottom so you don't slip (provided by hospital) and the cap for your hair. The nurse started an IV and the anesthesiologist came in to talk to me about what she would be doing. When it was time I walked on my own into the operating room and plopped myself on the table. The assisting doctor said hi and asked me my name and what surgery I was having.. then not long after that it was a few deep breaths and I was out.. I don't even remember the recovery room or even when I woke up in my regular room.. hope that helps... I had my surgery at Kaiser Richmond Good luck to you !!!!!

  4. how many months out are you?? I could not stand the chewables.. I tried 4 different brands and liquid but at around 2 1/2 3 months out I started with Bariatric Advantage multi capsules.. they are small and go down easy.. I take 3 a day
  5. I did not have surgery in Mexico so can't help out with that.. But I did have the sleeve done and I would still pick that one over plication if i could do it again. it just does not make sense to me to fold the stomach over itself, how do they check that part of the stomach for ulcers, cancer etc.. later in life.. also I like not being hungry the majority of the time.. and when I am it is usually Head hunger do lots of research and find what is right for you... good luck
  6. Thanks everyone.... My doctor said he would order an ultrasound.. but the pain has gone away so I will wait and see if it returns.. \ I am keeping my fingers crossed :-)
  7. make a ticker at http://www.tickerfactory.com/ezticker/ticker_designer.php?type=3 when finished... paste the link to your profile under "about me" there will be two links provided.. I think you use the HTML but can't remember for sure.. if the HTML does not work try the other link.. Hope that helps
  8. here is a link to site where you can submit a complaint, or if you prefer there is a number you can call.. http://www.medbd.ca.gov/consumer/complaint_info.html good luck !!
  9. wow you definately need to change doctors as soon as you're able.. and I would report him to the medical board... there is no excuse for that kind of cruelness. He should treat you with respect regardless of your size... I am sending positive thoughts your way.....I hope your appointment today goes well..
  10. I had mine arrive about 4-5 times in the first 2 months.. it has since slowed down to the regular once a month.. I would not worry unless is continues for more then 2 months.. it is just your body trying to adjust to everything that was done to it..
  11. Thanks everyone... sounds like it is... but keeping my fingers croseed.. I sure don't want another surgery I just emailed my Doctor... we shall see what he says....
  12. I have been experiencing pain on my right side. the pain is along the back, side and front under the ribcage. Most of the time it is dull, but if I burb, hiccup, sneeze or move a certain way it turns sharp and radiates to my right shoulder below the collar bone.. It started a couple of days ago.... anyone who has had gallstones before... does this sound familliar? If it continues I will contact my doctor, but I wanted to see what you guys have to say Thanks Sherri
  13. I vomit if I eat to much or something that my stomach does not like... The eating too much is my own fault, but sometimes I eat new things or even stuff I have had before and my little tummy jst revolts against it. I am 9 months out so it happens a lot less then in the beginning (probably 10-12 times a month) (currently maybe 4-5 times a month). there is no guarentee but i'm sure it is still a lot less then with the band..
  14. I would start now.. I lost 32lbs on the pre op diet.. that was 32 less I had to loose after the surgery... also helps you get into the frame of mind of eating good/balanced food
  15. I had it around the end of the first month and although it has subsided a little.. I still have it. it is not thrush, and I have tried every prescription "magic" mouth wash there is.. I am hoping it will go away at some point .. but i have just learned to live with it hopefully yours won't last very long..
  16. Glad you like him :-) As far as success goes.. I have lost 129lbs with about 15 to go.. surgery was june 22nd last year sounds like you are on the right track... great job on the pre op weight loss
  17. I went through Kaiser Richmond and had Dr Fisher. I liked him, but there are others that don't. He is very straight forward matter of fact. If you are not serious about loosing the weight and sticking to the program he will be very hard on you. For me that just pushed me along even faster. I quit my 6-10 can a day diet pepsi habit and lost over 30 lbs pre-op. I hope you have a good experience with him good luck Sherri
  18. I would not take the chance...prob won't hurt but you never know I did not do a last meal and do not regret it.. best of luck to you ..
  19. sending many happy thoughts your way ..
  20. I always weigh about 2-4 lbs more in the evening.. It is normal as long as it goes back down in the morning I would not worry
  21. I got one for x mass and they are worth every penny.. use it all the time for protein/fruit smoothies.. have also made soup a couple of times..
  22. I take in around 60-100 grams of carbs a day.. mostly all good carbs I have lost 128 lbs so far.. so it works for me.. I know everyone is different though I have tried the higher in protein/low carb bars and they just taste awful to me... eating something i like helps keep me on track.
  23. Thanks David I am loosing a lot slower now, but as long as it still moves I am ok with that. I had my surgery June 22nd last year
  24. I work for sacramento county and have kaiser. I was very lucky and did not have to pay anything for the surgery. All I paid for was $20 for the 2 prescriptions they sent me home with. I did have to go to Richmond about 2hr drive from home, but that was nothing for what I got in return. Good luck to you
