I got a call on the way home from the case manager, someone canceled and I got my date bumped up I am having surgery on the 22nd, less then 2 weeks.. ! I can't believe its happening so fast.... Sherri

Welcome acaaew, good luck with your journey! I have a question, I was told by Richmond that they would be calling me either yesterday or today to schedule my case manager appointment. I did not get a call yet, should I call them ? or wait another day or two? I don't want to irritate them.. anyone else with similar experience? Thanks Sherri :biggrin:

Hi Cherice, Yes I was lucky and only needed to loose 10 pounds, he said it was because I am tall and carry my weight well. I am still trying to loose as much as possible pre surgery, so far since starting the pre-op diet I have lost 25lbs I wish you the same luck ! Sherri

Hi Michael, My name is Sherri, I live in Sac and am going through Kaiser Richmond. I should get a call this week for my case manager appointment. As I am still in the pre op stage I don't have much wisdom to spread but will answer any questions I can. There is a support group that meets at point west kaiser the 3rd Saturday of the month from 11-1 I have not been to one yet, but have talked to some of the people on the message boards at Kaiser Richmond Pre-op - Page 809 - LAP-BAND? Surgery and LAP-BAND? Discussion Forum Which Surgeon did you meet with? I have Dr. Fisher. One thing I can tell you is the pre op diet works great.. I am already below pre surgery goal and its only been little over 3 weeks. If you have not started it yet.. I would start now.. They weigh you at every appointment so wear your lightest clothes and take off your shoes.. good luck and feel free to send me a message any time Sherri :thumbup1:

I just got off the phone with Kaiser Richmond and they ordered my labs and EKG, as soon as I get those done I can call for my case manager appointment.. !! Hi everyone, My name is Sherri, I was first considering the Lap band but after much research have decided on the sleeve. I have posted some on the lap band site, and thought it was time to come over here to. I have had my orientation and surgeon consult, i have my psych appointment tomorrow. I was given a pre op weigh loss goal of 10 lbs. Depending on how much my clothes weigh tomorrow I should be at or near that goal. My Dr. is Dr. Fisher at Kaiser Richmond. I am about 130 lbs overweight and have yo-yo'ed all my life. I have lost over 100 lbs several times only to gain it back . I am hoping this "tool" will be what I need to keep it off. anyone who has had Dr Fisher and has any information good or bad I would greatly appreciate it.. Thanks Sherri :puke4:

Hi everyone, Sorry I missed the point west meeting, would have liked to see everyone. I work a karaoke business on the weekends and it went late on Friday and I overslept Sat and missed the meeting. I have my psych appointment tomorrow and I was wondering, do they weigh you at this appoint? also have been curious why is Dr Fisher nicknamed Dr who? Ali- 17 lbs is fanstastic, don't let the slowdown get you down!! I am going to try and make the point west support group this saturday, will be nice to meet some of you I have a question, is the surgeon and pych consult and case manger appointment the only required appointments? or are there more you have to go through before surgery? I am getting a little tired of tuna, chicken & egg salad, I am not a very imaginative cook... does anyone know of a good high protien low carb cookbook? also I heard someone mention a support group that meets at the point west location.. does anyone know when the next one is and the time? Hi again everyone, Glad to hear most everyone had a nice Mother's Day. Just checking in, I had my surgeon consult today with Dr. Fisher. It was possitive and negative at the same time. I like him but he has doubts that I can keep off the weight after surgery :-( and he was not impressed that i cut my Diet Pepsi from 6-10 cans to 1-2 in 6 days. He believed If I was serious about making changes and getting the surgery I would have quit cold turkey. I am serious so his words kind of stung. I do understand he reasoning though I suppose. I am going to try and be free from diet pepsi and carbonated drinks by the end of this week. I was also given my pre op weight loss goal--10 lbs I was surprised it was not more, if I keep to the Meal plan I could be having the surgery quite sooner than I thought. I am still considering the sleeve over the band, so anyone who has had the sleeve and has any information to share I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks for listening... Sherri :biggrin:
