  1. Melissa - I also would insist on another fill. I was banded on 02/20 with first fill of 1cc on 03/20 and am scheduled for a second fill (I don't know how much) on 04/06. If that doesn't change anything then I imagine he will have me back two weeks later for another.

  2. I had my surgery on 02/20; my first fill four weeks later on 03/20; my second fill is scheduled for 4/6. The first fill was 1cc and I don't feel any different. I am now down 30 pounds though and beginning to lose again on average 2 pounds per week. I didn't lose anything through the mushie and soft food stage. Now I pretty much eat anything except soft bread, popcorn or soda and have no problem. Oh yeah - I can't eat a wrap - too doughie.

  3. I just started mushie foods and immediately gained a pound also. I am still eating less than 800 calories per day but... I don't eat the high carb stuff though. I have had scrambled eggs for Breakfast (eggbeaters 3/4 cup), 1/4 cup tuna with ff mayo for lunch, v8 snack, tilapia fillet cooked in olive oil and garlic and herbs with 3 tablespoons of meatless, pastaless lazagna, and a sf fudgesicle for evening snack. That's what my day is like with lots of Water in between. I haven't calculated the Protein count - though I should - but since it is mostly Protein I haven't supplemented with anything else. Given what I am eating I can't imagine I won't go back to losing. Incidentally I am pretty full all day except just before bed.

So to answer you question, I think it is normal when you go from liquid to food you gain a little bit - no matter what you eat.

  4. Usually you lose weight before surgery through whatever preop diet your surgeon requires. Losing weight serves a bunch of purposes but mostly makes it easier for them to work around your liver (reduces the size of a fatty liver). My surgeon required two weeks of an 800 calorie diet then 2 days of Clear Liquids. He said that is not his guideline, it is an absolute. And if you didn't lose at least 10 pounds by the time they weigh you in the day of surgery, he will not do it.

  5. silry - I am not sure what to tell you. I have extreme tummy grumbling the last 2 days also and I had surgery on the 20th. So far today isn't bad but tonight it will be. I am supposed to do Clear Liquids until tuesday but I go back to work on monday. I think on Monday I will switch to full liquids otherwise I will not be able to focus at work at all. I am basically trying to stay on clear liquids as long as possible.

  6. I was banded on Tuesday, 2 hours from home. Everyone in my house was too sick Tuesday morning and could never have made a 2 hour trip to bring me then make it back home. So I drove myself there and drove myself home the next day. It was fine. I needed a long nap once I got home but other than that, my kids were all still sick so I still needed to take care of them. In the end I have had little rest and little time to sit down. The positive side to that though is that my gas is rapidly exiting my body. No one was happy that I was driving myself home but I needed to get home to help take care of my family. Don't cancel your surgery. It will work out.

  7. Hello everyone - I am late to arrive on this post. I am being banded tomorrow - the 20th. I have been so excited. Except there are 8 people in my house (huge house and our extended family lives with us) and as of last night 4 of them (not me yet) have some sort of stomach virus with vomiting and diarhea. I am washing my hands nonstop but pray I don't wake up tomorrow morning and start vomitting before my surgery. Of course I have been on clear liquids for a few days so there is nothing in my stomach. Even the best laid plans....Oh well - all I can do is hope and keep washing my hands.

  8. You all look so great. I am just at the beginning of my lapband journey and I have to ask (I didn't see it anywhere in the thread) - how painful is a lower body lift? Tummy Tuck? I have had many surgeries, including having my legs rebuilt with rods, plates and screws. Those were awful and I really don't think I could go through anything that painful voluntarily. So, on a scale of 1-10 (imagine 10 as having shattered legs) - where would you say these procedures fall? I also have 3 kids - 2, 6, 12 so I can't be immobile for a long period of time. Thanks - and again - you all look GREAT.

  9. I hope to be banded in February. Because of potential fatty liver of his patients, my surgeon requires 10 days of 1000 calorie or less diet then 2 days of a liquid diet prior to the surgery. Although, really I don't think I would mind a longer liquid diet. Many of my so called "successful" weight loss attempts were long term liquid - usually Water only - fasts. But then, to no one's surprise the weight all came back on. So, now I am here.

  10. A silky from comfort silkie. It is a small square foot blanket with silk on one side and cotton on the other. BEST PRODUCT EVER. Small, easy to ship etc... We lost my daughter's first one and in a panic I bought about 8 more. Believe me when I say my daughter always knows when one is missing. I don't have to carry a full baby blanket around - just her silkie. The website is www.comfortsilkie.com Hope it helps.
