Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris

It's weigh day today and have excitedly got up to weigh and measure and I'm not disappointed. I have lost another 3 pounds and 5 inches all over. So total loss is 12 pounds and 8.25 inches in two weeks. Overall pleased. My husband said to me last night your shrinking! I was really pleased about that. Will get him to do some post-op two week photos for the blog I am keeping on www.lapbanduk.org Hope everyone else is on track. Have a lovely day

When I was over at the end of July, Frederick was able to break the fills down like this: 1st fill = 3ml 2nd fill = max 2ml fill 3rd fill = max 1 ml fill Depends on band capacity. The ones that ladies have fitted is a Heliogast and has a capacity of 15mls. He did also say that sometimes it's only 3-4 fills to get it just right for you but this can vary amongst everyone. HTH In London they are £80 and elsewhere in the UK and Ireland they are £90 Frederik does the fills, or Dr Chris himself and there is another gentleman aswell not sure of his name though. HTH

Absolutely appalling and too stressful for words. I do hope that you will pursue this and others that have been treated similarly will band together so that this type of experience can be erradicated. Good luck and keep us posted.

Does this seem right? I am aware that we should have a target of 1000 cals per day. I'm not so much cals driven but what I can manage. I am only managing approx 500 - 600 cals per day and this can consist of either porridge or yoghurt for breakfast a Herbalife shake for lunch and some soup at dinner time. I am now managing the 1 litre of water and drank a bit more than that as well yesterday plus other liquid e.g. green tea, coffee Is it like this in the beginning and as you move from liquids to mushies to food it gets better or do I need to be trying to add something extra at this stage. I don't think I have the room to be honest. My loss has been good in 9 days I have lost 11.5 pounds so I am pleased but others around me are concerned about what my intake is and if it is sufficient particulalry when I am more active and back to school. Hoping someone will reply.

I like Pearce stepped on the scales this morning and had lost 9 lbs and 4.5 inches. Absolutely brilliant. I have struck a deal with my Herbalife distributor (hubby) for a brilliant package of £32 per month for Forumala 1 and vitamins/minerals. Will do breakfast and lunch and then a healthy eveing meal. If your interested visit Herbalife to find out more and for contact details. He's going to be my Shape up coach, for those that have met him, he has taken a leaf out of the book and decided to lose weight! Yippee. Positive effects all round. Have a good evening and congrats to those that have also weighed today and those that were banded. Very sad about the lady who wasn't able to be banded how disappointing for her. Hope all is well and she is able to have it done at a later date.

I didn't actually find this too bad. Others said it was painful, I didn't really notice but then I had had quite a lot of pain meds and anti-sickness meds, so probably only felt it a little bit. Felt like a piece of hose. It's hard isn't it. I had drains in for my ACL reconstructin now if you mentioned pain then this is definately pain! Especially as I am allergic to morphine so was on nothing when they took them out. Hope you are soon feeling on the mend. I feel great and I am 7 days post op. Take care and look after yourself.

I think we need to be very careful naming names on here, yes it's great that people are aware but some websites I am a member of have been threatened with closure for comments that were seen as derogative or slanderous. We may be speaking from experience but I enjoy being able to post on this forum so I think we should be cautious what we say and how we say it. Slinky this isn't directed at you, please don't think it is - it is just a general statement. I agree that agents like this do nothing to help Dr Chris's exceptional reputation but we should be repeatedly telling anyone considering this procedure "to go direct". We are his advocates because we have experienced this first hand. Therefore that make us very special people who can do the positive word of mouth. :tongue2: and promote him. HTH

There are a fair few on here that have had similar experiences - do you not think it is time for action ladies and gents so that the excellent reputation of Dr Chris is not being jeopardised. I'm sure that there will be some more comments by other members. Good luck and hope it goes well. Frederik is very understanding and aware of the shortcomings of the agent. Take care and focus on you.

Good piece of advice. I have been boxing up left overs so that I can food process them down into nutritious thin and thick Soups for the different stages. Interesting that you can have soft Pasta when Dr Chris said no in the group chat. I suppose if it is really soft and cut up small it shouldn't be a problem or am I being naive??

Hi All thought I would post since coming back from banding on 30th July. So I am 3 days post op and couldn't believe it when I stood on the scales this morning that I had lost 6.5 lbs since I left. It's awesome. Still swollen but it is starting to go down. So will check inch loss in about 10 days. Heard some absolute horror stories about other bandsters who hadn't booked direct with Chris & Frederik. Stories that would really set my alarm bells off such as the surgery is confirmed and then cancelled and rescheduled etc. So glad I steered clear of booking with anyone other than Frederik. Offered free fills but these wouldn't be honoured etc Don't forget that you can book direck with them at www.belgiumsurgeryservices.com Have a good day.

Just wanted to add that you can book DIRECT with Dr Chris & Frederick at Belgium Surgery Services They are keen For people to do this as it cuts out other problems when not booking direct e.g. Taxis not being included etc. HTH Claire x

Hi have just undergone banding (yesterday)! Have met some lovely people here. There are 6 of us that were banded 30th July. I was the second one to go down and it wasn't too bad. Recovery was a bit of a blur due to the drugs. But certainly felt the pain & sickness. Ask for meds they gave me something every time I said anything. Care was fantastic! Lovely, supportive & understanding people. Now on the road to recovery and every hour I feel better. Will sign in again when home. Congratulations wannabe & sheer. Take care Claire x

I personally am going to use Herbalife once I am able to but there are others on here who have used other things etc I have packed soup and found som dutch crispbreads which I will take with me plus some juice. There is a supermarket close to the hotel so your wife may be able to get some bits there. There are lots of posts where people have said that they have gone for a meal in the evening, even been encouraged too. HTH
