  1. I can't tell you how thankful I am to read your entry! I have not went to a support group but I have been feeling like am failing myself. I hear of everyone losing 40lbs in the first month of the lap band and I am no where near that! I have a pre op diet for just a week and lost 7lbs, the first week after surgery I lost another 7lbs. It is now three weeks after surgery and I have not lost anything else! To be honest, I actually go back and forth gaining one of the lbs back and then losing it again. I have went back to doing a protien shake for breakfast and lunch and the only snacks during the day are a laughing cow cheese and a v8 juice. I eat a normal (not huge) dinner...and still....nothing! How are other people being so successful and I am not! My first band fill isn't until June 16th and I sure hope things get better!
  2. Thank you, that makes me feel much better! I only lost 7lbs before my surgery... I only went on a preop diet for a week though so that was pretty good, and since then I have lost the other 7lbs. Thanks again because I keep hearing about people losing 40lbs in the first month and thought I was really doing something majorly wrong!
  3. I am two weeks out and have lost 14lbs.. did you lose more earlier or later on in your five weeks?
  4. It has been only two weeks since I got the lap band. I have lost 14lbs to date! Is this normal? I hear all over of people losing 40lbs their first month and I keep thinking I am doing something really wrong! Help:bored:

My surgery date is May 4th and just learned that yesterday! I can totally relate to the nervousness! I would say mine is far beyond nervous, scared ^$%^-less is more accurate! I feel like I have what they call "fight or flight" syndrome. Part of me wants to run...do you feel like that at all?

Well here we go!! I started this process quite awhile ago and finally got okay'd by the insurance about two days ago. I was scheduled to see the surgeon the very next day (yesterday april 22nd) and was told my surgery date will be May 4th!:wink2: I had no idea it would happen that fast after the insurance approval. I started my pre op diet today! I am scared to death and really excited all mixed together and don't know whether to laugh or cry. I am so ready for this but I still have a part of me that keeps saying I can do this on my own and what if I hate it! Don't get me wrong, I have wanted to lose weight for a very long time now and have been unable to. I I think that is mainly nerves and second guessing myself! I know I need it and am very unhappy with how I look now. My self esteem suffers terribly. I am freaking out a bit. I have read too many blogs about the bad things that can happen. Did everyone have doubts about if it was totally necessary and freak out like I am? I am just a spaz:lol:

  10. Congrats, at least you have a week though. I just went to find out my surgery date yesterday and was told May 4th and I start the pre op diet the very next day! I had no time to eat all the stuff I would be saying good bye too! Good luck! I am happy for you!
