Is this Normal?

It has been only two weeks since I got the lap band. I have lost 14lbs to date! Is this normal? I hear all over of people losing 40lbs their first month and I keep thinking I am doing something really wrong! Help:bored:

From what I have read, everyone loses at a different rate. I am 6 weeks out from surgery and I have lost 20lbs since surgery. I lost 16 prior to surgery for a total loss of 36lbs. I just had my first fill yesterday. So I think you are doing great!

Thank you, that makes me feel much better! I only lost 7lbs before my surgery... I only went on a preop diet for a week though so that was pretty good, and since then I have lost the other 7lbs. Thanks again because I keep hearing about people losing 40lbs in the first month and thought I was really doing something majorly wrong!

Hi there...I guess I would consider myself an experienced lapbander and I gotta tell you...everyone loses at a different rate and if you compare what you lose to someone else, you will drive yourself insane and get discouraged...if you are following the rules and working with the band, you will succeed. I always look at it this way...would you have lost 14 pounds without the band cuz I gotta tell you, before the band the scales were only going up for me...never down. So...don't get discouraged...you will do great!

Good luck!
