I think it would benefit you from stopping the pot smoking as soon as possible for the sake of the surgery process. I also believe that smoking weed and otherwise constricts blood flow and could possibly hinder the healing process. This was brought up before and I think you might find some people that actually smoked weed post op and you could hit them up on how it worked out for them. My thoughts are if they make people stop smoking cig's before surgery for safety purposes that would probably include weed smoking

Heck ya that is good! I have two months on you and I have only lost around 41 pounds and I have only lost 3 pounds the last 5 weeks. Those were my fault though, I have been a lazy butt. You are doing great, I know that almost 40 pounds makes a huge difference. I grabbed a pair of dress slacks from my closet today because I was going to go apply for a part time job at a local school and I had not had my dress pants on since last February when I resigned from my county job. HOLY COW those things slipped off my waist and were down around mid thigh, if I didnt have such booty it would have fallen straight down to my ankles. Just because you CAN do something doesn't mean you SHOULD do it. The post ops are important in the healing of your stomach. It is also the time to get a grip on starting good habits.
Your stomach was severed into two pieces 14 days ago and is being held together to prevent leaking by staples and possibly sutures....lets think about this. Do you think a hamburger is the food it needs to have shoved into it at this point? Im thinking that's a fat NO.

GIrl you look smoking. You are getting so tiny and your curves are lovely! I only own one dress I had thrown them out over the weight gain years. I have a denim one I bought a couple of months ago. I may try to thrown that on and get a couple pics tomorrow

I also used Dr. Pompa as some people mentioned above she is a median priced surgeon but has a great track record on safety. I had a great experience with her. I think Dr. Aceves is well worth the money but I think there are some doctors like Pompa that are very very safe that are more affordable if you are crunching numbers. I know it is so hard to wrap our heads as Americans around the concept of having to shop for medical care because our insurance system here is so different. I guess it is more like shopping for plastic surgeons in America then anything else. I think if you do have insurance and you are not used to paying for medical care out of pocket or minimal out of pocket we arent sure what to do, if we had to pay cash we would have to rely a lot more on cost and repuation in America then we do currently.
2nd: Expensive doesn't always mean the best.... but cheap usually means someone is cutting corners somewhere. IMO. I don't want corners cut just because it is a crap shoot on if might be a statistic. I want the cards stacked that if I have a complication there is adequate medical knowledge, equipment and a team that has the wherewithal to know that they need to get me somewhere else and FAST.

LoL I know it probably sounded a little askew but I was meaning something that had a little caffeine and some herbs in it for appetite suppression, not some crazy prescription like Phentermine. But I am past it. I will be honest I was emotional and frustrated last night and just throwing it out there in response to my hunger issues. Sorry, I had to throw that out there and get it off my chest. I worry about it a lot. I saw a picture of myself at a concert the summer before surgery and I thought to myself, please dont screw this up self!

OMG Irene I havent been around in forever and you have totally rocked the crap out of your sleeve. YOU LOOK amazing and you have toned up so nicely. WAY TO GO!

I love pinto Beans, they are a low fat meal and have a decent amount of Protein. Plus they taste great on a winter day!
I like to make them the day before I plan on eating them, the tastes just seem to marry overnight.
4 cans of pinto beans (I like to buy sun vista or any other mexican food brand)
1/4 of a small white onion diced
1 small clove of garlic minced
garlic salt to taste
Take your diced onion and garlic and pour a tiny bit of juice from one of the cans of pinto beans into your cooking pan. Sweat them on low for two or three minutes getting them nice and soft. Pour in all the beans and juice from the cans. Cover pan with lid and cook low and slow for 45 minutes. I add garlic salt while cooking usually about two teaspoons. When in a hurry i have cooked a smaller batch on a bit higher of heat for 20 minutes or so and it worked fine for a meal.
After the cook I will have a small bowl and put the rest in the fridge and reheat the next day. They taste even better then.
Lightly brown a couple corn tortillas in a grease free cast Iron skillet and serve up on the side.
