  1. Looked at your photo album and you look great! How are you feeling? Did the fill make you feel any different? Haven't had one yet, perhaps on the 2nd of Sept, so I am curious.

  2. Just checking to see how you are doing on your journey? I hope you are losing tons and feeling fabulous!

  3. 110 lbs and a dress size 10. OMG, what an amazing journey you are having. I am sorry about the un-fill - has it helped? I hope you continue to do well and I agree with the blogging comment. One of the support groups I attended said we should journal. The thought of writing in a book and not sharing with others in the same position as I am in didn't excite me. But I can't wait to get home from work and read what others have written. Keep it up gf - You rock!

  4. I don't know if you have your surgery at a hospital or not, but mine has 2 fitness centers - the one I go to which is closer to my home does not have a pool. The membership is very inexpensive and the trainers come with the membership. If you want a private session, then they would charge. But they teach and inspire at no additional cost. You should check it out.

  5. Hi, Cris: Haven't heard from you in a while. Wanted to check in to see how things were going? Hope all is great and you are doing well. Keep in touch.

  6. Don't be nervous. This is the greatest gift you could ever give yourself. The day after your surgery, make yourself get up during each TV commercial and walk, walk, walk. It is the only way to get rid of the gas. Best of luck. You will be so happy to did this and the surgery is a walk in the park.

  7. Hi, Fire Girl. I live in North Miami, just south of Hollywood. Are you in the area?

  8. Hi, Sandradee: As I read comments to my blog and I read other people's blogs and comments, I always notice your comments. You are such a positive ray of sunshine - I thank you so much and I always look forward to your posts.

  9. I know we will both meet our goal next week. Keep the positive vibes coming - we are going to succeed. Have a great week.

  10. A CPAP machine is worn by people who have sleep apnea. It helps keep air pushing through your nose so you don't stop breathing while you are sleeping.

I have sleep apnea, or did before lap-band, but I could not sleep with the machine. Very uncomfortable and bulky. Since I have lost weight, I havn't had the sleep problem.

  11. Take one step at a time and you will reach your goal.

  12. Youa re doing remarkably well. Don't look at the "big picture", take 10 lbs at a time - no more, no less. Everytime you lose 10 lbs, you have not only made your goal, but you will feel so good. The rest will come off, but give youself time. It took a long time to put it on, and working hard, you will eventually take it off. Remember, small baby steps will still take you to the finish line!

  13. Hi, Janet:

You are an inspirational person - the type of person everyone on this website so appreciates. You look amazing and always have such wonderful things to say. I appreciate you and I am so glad to be your bandster sister.

  14. You look amazing! What a difference. You keep up the good work.

  15. 110 lbs in a year is an amazing feat. I am very proud of you. Reading about you makes me know I can do it too. You are always encouraging and have great ideas. Thanks so much.

  16. Turns out I didn't need the fill yet. I have another appointment on the 19th, but the doc said if I find myself not losing weight, hungry or eating larger portions to call and they will fit me right in. When I do have the fill, they want me on liquids for 5 days. I am amazed your doctor wants you on solids the next day. It's amazing how each doctor does things differently. Good luck.

  17. Hey, Cris:

Tomorrow is my first fill and I am nervous as hell. How are you doing since your fill? Are you eating and drinking alright?

  18. Hey girlfriend. I am doing great, thanks for asking. First fill tomorrow. Lost another lb since my surgery on 6/21 so I am now down 21 lbs. Loving this lapband and I hope I feel the same way after the fill tomorrow. Going back on liquids is not my first choice, but my doctor insists on it. Hope you are doing great.

  19. 71 lbs in just over 3 months is an amazing amount of weight. How wonderful you are doing. What weight did you start at? How much do you wish to lose? I will have my first fill on Thurs and am a little nervous and a little excited. I've lost 20lbs in 1 month, 4 days. I also don't like to weigh myself, except at the gym. I write down my progress every Sunday. Keep up the amazing job you are doing.

  20. Hi, Cris: So glad you are feeling better. And, congrats on the 25lb loss. Isn't it great? Keep up the good work. How was the fill on Wed. Are you sure that you weren't ill from that? My doctor won't let me eat, liquids only, for a week after the fill. I hate the liquid stage, but I try to listen to the doctor.

  21. I'm so glad to hear your doctor didn't talk you out of weight loss surgery. I understand that the sleeve is the new gastric by-pass and that it is not only healthier, but you have a faster recovery from it. Unfortunately, a lot of insurance companies will not cover it yet, but I am hoping that will change soon. My insurance would not pay for my lapband, but I am hoping people who cannot afford to "get healthy" with surgery will get assistance in the near future with insurance. Good luck to you.

  22. I would love the jello-whipped cream recipe. My husband loves deserts and we do have people in for dinner now and again. My email is bklynike@aol.com. Thanks.

  23. You probably are not on line yet, but I wanted to see how you were doing, just in case you were checking in. Welcome to our little family of people who have chosen to get healthier, thinner and happier. We bandsters must stick together, so let us know how you are doing. There is a wealth of knowledge on this site, so just ask questions if you have them and someone will respond to you. Best of luck, again.

  24. Thank you so much for your kind words. We all have our separate journey, but we all want the same things - better health, longer life and a knowledge that we did everything we could to be a better us.

  25. Thanks for responding to my blog. I wish you the best of luck tomorrow. This is the greatest gift you could possibly give yourself.

Just a few things to remember - when you get home you will be sore. Take your pain medication and relax. But Tues, if you are watching TV get up each commercial and walk, even if it hurts. If you don't walk, you will not get rid of the gas. If you don't walk you will be more sore. So start moving on Tues.

Best of luck, again. Please keep us informed of your progress. Blogging or journaling will help your journey. You have friends here.
