Wow, he is a KEEPER!!
-
Wow, how lucky of you to be offered such a generous sum from a stranger!
-
I know how you feel! When you realize this is real and really happening, it's a lot to take in. I'm just focusing on all the good things this will mean for my future.

You can definitely see it in the face! I think that's usually the first place I notice

I'd never go in that store anyway...it smells disgusting.

I think it's great that you're facing all these feelings now and learning how to deal with them or get past them. Better to deal with the emotional issues right away than pretend everything is ok and have them smack you in the face later on!

Wow, you're a hottie! Keep it up!

I don't have any advice for you since I"m pre-op, but I totally know the feeling. I have a range of clothes from size 11 to size 22. In the past I kept them because I knew I'd eventually need the big clothes again, but after surgery...they're gone, gone, gone. I'm so looking forward to it.

I have a phone consult w/ my surgeon tonight to go over all my test results. Assuming everything looks good, I'll be able to book my travel. AHH! It's really going to happen!!

well the good thing is if there are complications, it will surely make the news.

Today I answered the siren call of the carbs, and I'm so ashamed - started the day off with a half serving of frosted mini-wheats. lunch saw me eat a bite EACH of: pizza, Pasta shells, yakisoba noodles, roasted potatoes, AND a gyro with yogurt sauce. And, I just had a pop-tart. I .... don't know what got into me. I'm on my way to the gym now to run like mad and lift punishing weights and dinner will be plain tuna.< /p>
Consider this...before, you wouldn't have been worried about a bite of pizza or Pasta shells. You'd have been worried about eating a WHOLE pizza. Or a BOX of pasta shells. hehe

Someone posted that there is a doctor close to Lafayette, LA that charges $9800.
That would be Dr. Borland in New Iberia, LA. That's who I'm going to.

I was talking to my surgeon about this recently and he shared that he had recently done 10 year follow-up with a patient that had regained 50 pounds in the last 5 years...sounds like a lot (and it is) but when you put it in context, it is an extra 100 calories a day...or, as my surgeon said, a small bag or Doritos...how easy would it be to have 100 extra/empty calories a day??...additionally, he says that after we've lost significant weight our metabolism slows down...which is an added element to why we have to remain focused for the rest of our lives...for some people, maybe they were previously "maintaining" at 1200 calories a day...but after accounting for metabolism slowing, we might actually need to lower that amount in order to see the scale stay where we want it.
50 pounds over 5 years is a lot more tolerable than 100 pounds over 1 year (which is what I managed to do! Eek!)

Yay!!!! So happy for you!!! :)

What do you mean by your second sleeve?
Ditto!!

I just wanted to say I have a 5/22 surgery, so I know your pain! I'm trying not to let it get to me, and to just "go with the flow". This is something we want, so there is no sense in worrying about it. Good thoughts lead to good things

One thing I've noticed is the site works for crap on Internet Explorer. If you have Chrome or Firefox, you'll be much better off!

I may be totally off base here, but it seems you started with a lower starting weight than many of us. Generally people who weigh more are able to lose faster...is it possible that could be the case for you? Just throwing it out there

Well now my husband is giving me the silent treatment. If I bring up the surgery he'll give me a one-word answer, or say "Do we really have to talk about this?" I'm going to ask him tonight if he plans to be supportive when he goes with me. If not, I have a friend who has offered and will take her instead. She's been supportive through this whole thing and knows what I"m going through. I'd rather have someone there to support my decision, not make me feel worse than I already will with 5 holes in my body
