Anyone else feeling down
HatheryOnHerWay replied to MariaL1981's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your doc may think for the short duration that antidepressants can help you get through the emotions you're feeling. I definitely second the notion of going for walks and getting out and about when you're feeling down. Endorphins released from walking can really help! -

My surgeon gave me a video of my procedure. Imagine all the fun we'll be having at future holidays and family reunions! -

I don't think I've ever successfully eaten less than a half-bag of chips in one go. -
Anyone else feeling down
HatheryOnHerWay replied to MariaL1981's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Unfortunately I think what you're feeling is really common after WLS. Our bodies go through so many changes, and it affects everyone differently. I feel fortunate I'm already on an antidepressant or I think I'd be a crying mess these days! -
weight loss pills after surgery
HatheryOnHerWay replied to ramirelek's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I think it also really depends what the goal of the diet pills is. If it's to make you feel full and eat less, well the sleeve does that for you. If it's to boost your metabolism, I think you'd be better off looking into natural supplements that can support metabolic health. Most diet pills are loaded with caffeine, so it's not great for your cardiovascular system. -

HatheryOnHerWay replied to NtvTxn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I honestly think they put chemicals in that stuff to make us addicted. It sounds conspiratory, but I think it's true! -

That sounds exactly like something my hubby would have said! I'm glad we're not alone in being mortified. Thanks for sharing your story, too--I almost spit my loathsome Water out -
Good scale to weigh me and one for my food.......
HatheryOnHerWay replied to Beach Lover's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My "people scale" gives a different number every time I step on it. I literally take 5 weights and average them. Stupid scale! -

I'm glad everyone can get some amusement from my woes. I figure if we can't laugh at ourselves, we'll go crazy -
My theory was "Ready or not, here I come!" As long as you've studied the surgery, researched the pros and cons, know the risks, etc. then you should be just fine

This means war...
HatheryOnHerWay replied to hopeliveshere's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm still dealing with it. It's hard to get over that constant feeling of "Hmm, what delicious thing can I eat next?" But right now with my sleeve, most foods don't sit well with me so the feeling is lessening. Right now I'm more in the "Oh god do I HAVE to eat?" boat. but I still find myself thinking about food. -
Frustrated #failure
HatheryOnHerWay replied to MystiGal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I totally get your frustration. I kept gaining and losing those same 2 pounds for almost 2 weeks, too. Then I weighed myself today and suddenly I was down 9 pounds. It's so weird the way we lose! -

Gah, I keep hearing this too! I think it's pretty dumb. 50% of marriages end in divorce regardless of WLS. -
Ever been called fat by a kid?
HatheryOnHerWay replied to a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've known a few kids who couldn't differentiate between "fat" and "tall". If a kid calls me fat, I just tell myself they mean tall. Haha
