  1. I had .5 taken out yesterday, they told me that the band was definatley too tight. The vomiting causes the swelling and within a few more days I would not of been able to get Water down. Feeling better now. Good luck.
  2. Had my last fill approx a month ago. After 3 weeks I really started feeling everything getting stuck. Had to walk out of a couple of business lunches to make the restroom to throw up. I am going to get an unfill this week it's amazing how just a .5 difference in your fill makes.
  3. I hope so I need to lose 26-30 lbs to get under 300 on my birthday Oct 28th. Currently 325 lbs starting weight was 371.
  4. I was self pay and also submitted a claim for my hernia repair too. Ins sent it back ( of course) and asked for more info which I did turn in a couple of weeks ago. Still no update yet but I will post when I find something out.
  5. I was banded in April 2010 w a 14 cc band, I had my first fill in June of 6cc and a fill this past week of 2.2cc for a total of 8.2cc. I have lost 45 lbs to date but this restriction is really noticeable.
  6. So easy to do when you are in a hurry.
  7. My surgery date was April 28th with Dr Jessee too. My starting weight was 371. I have a 14cc band and got my first fill on June 8th 6.6cc. I did notice restriction right away but things seemed to get easier to eat and digest. I have lost a total of 45 lbs since preop and have started working out much more. I notice I am starting to drift up on the scale and am scheduled for another fill this week. I am hoping to get to the better restriction after this fill and see the weight start dropping.
  8. Don't worry be happy! I was banded on April 28 and just had my first fill yesterday. The liquid diet following post op is very boring and the mushies are only a little better in my experience. Just don't give in and follow your drs orders. I think we all kind of expect to notice something right away and dont. There is not restriction in your band yet but believe me you will know when they fill it. Stay the course and be blessed.
  9. I was banded on April 28th and since preop have lost 32 lbs. I had my first fill yesterday 6.6 cc in a 14 cc band.
  10. I was banded on April 28th and since I started my preop diet have lost a total of 31 lbs. I get my first fill on June 8th and am ready for it. I really feel no restriction at all right now but am making every effort to eat sensibly. I have been doing more physical work every day and am trying to get on an excercise program. Good luck with your fill.
  11. I know what you mean, I was banded on April 28th and after moving to mushies I have no appetite either. I do try to stay on a schedule with eating though. I am looking forward to my first fill.
  12. I was banded on April 28th and am just now starting to feel better. I work out of the house too and I have limited my outside travel, I think the post op diet is quite tough to maintain and I know I have had headaches almost everyday till yesterday. Ready for some variety, stay active good luck.
  13. I was banded on the 28th too. And still very bloated feeling. I have been walking and taking gasx but still no real relief. My weight is down 5 lbs since surgery. Overall 24 lbs since preop.
  14. I was banded yesterday too, outpatient. Very little pain, but I am taking my meds anyway. I have had the hickups quite often since surgery which is not pleasent. Other than that just hungry for something different. Best of luck in your progress.
  15. I got banded today about 11:00 am. My experience was great! Got to the hospital about 30 min before surgery. They took me back and got ready, pre op prep about 1 hour. Left the hospital around 2:00 pm. Couple of naps, walking around, and following post op menu. Hope your experience is as good.
  16. I was more afraid of being able to keep on the pre op diet than the actual surgery. In the past two weeks I lost 18lbs. I have 2 shakes and a regular meal in the eve or at lunch. Just remember why you are doing this and don't stay too focused on what you cant have. Just stay busy, I chew sugarless gum , drink crystal light, sugar free popsicles, nuts, if I need to snack. Stay on track but do it for yourself. Don't put yourself into situations that you cant get out of.
  17. I ve been on preop now for 2 weeks. I have two protein shakes and a light meal in the eve or lunch. I have lost 15lbs so far, I had my preop visit yesterday and having surgery Wed the 28th.
  18. Ive used them the past week on my preop. My surgery is next Wed the 28th.
  19. For a lot of people thats all they have to do is eat less and excercise to get the results they need. For me (most of us being banded or already banded) I think that the band will help me eat less and losing the weight will help me excercise more to get the results that I am looking for. For anyone looking to go this route I would definatley be supportive and refer them to this website to share with others who have arrived here.

I have my preop on this Friday. Surgery next Wed the 28th. This has all happened so fast. My weight loss to date is 11 pounds. I have really been oblivious to the things that I really thought would bring me down. Refocusing on the things that I need to do and accomplish before and after surgery. Right now I am pretty calm but, surgery day I hope I dont freak out. I have so many wonderful things to be thankful for and am looking forward to giving everyone in my life my very best.

  22. I was at a business meeting last week and a customer said to me "boy you sure have gained a lot of weight". I wanted to tell him to jump in the lake and mind his own business. Not to mention that I could of tossed this guy across the room, thats how frustrating it is to me when someone makes a comment like that. I just smiled and said I was working on it. It is very hard both male and female when people just look at your outside and dont appreciate who you really are. Especially at your age when your friends are so active and coming into summer when bathing suits and all that stuff comes into play. Even after you lose all this weight remember that you have so much more going for you, keep putting yourself out there and know that your confidence is only going to get stronger.
  23. I'm having surgery on April 28th. Only my immediate family and a couple of close friends. I have not told anyone at work or any of my customers (I'm in Outside Sales and work out of my house). To me it is more of a personal goal that will have both physical and medical benefits. It almost feels like it puts more pressure on you the more people you tell and their reaction may not always be positive. I wish you the best in your progress.
  24. Thanks so much, I live approx 3 miles from Fantasy of Flight on Lake Juliana.
  25. Have my surgery date soon, lost my preop weight and am ready to go. Anyone else on this date?
