  1. been away from the sight. had my surgery 4/7/10. weighed 304 lbs the night before surgery. as of 4/19/11 i weighed 209 lbs. im 6"1' went from a size 42 jean to a 33, size 52 suit to a 44/42. wile on vacation last friday i stopped being able to take solid food while having a bit of a stomach flu with vomiting. since then haven't been able to sip thin liquids. i cant keep down one full poached egg, or more than 4 ounces of liquid. it all comes right back up. it feels like the liquid and or the food is sitting in my esophagus , like i could reach my finger down the back of my mouth and touch what i just ate. my dr is was out of the office but i saw his PA yesterday who tried to take a few CC's out of my band but she couldn't access the port after 4 attempts with the syringe. my dr will be back in town tomorrow and will see him first thing in the morning. i hope that he is able to adjust the band without surgery with my luck i cant get surgery till next week. the only good part of this is that im going to probably hit my goal weight of 204 in the next few days....
  2. high intensity interval cardio training has worked well for me, along with changing up my routines...im 65 days from my banding..... i was slowed after knee surgery 2 weeks from my banding but the past 3 weeks have been able to ramp my cardio on the eliptical, stationary bike and walking steep inclines on the treadmill.
  3. i have what feels like a straight ridge under the largest insisicion that was above my belly button. my port is in the immeadiate area. the ridge has shrunk and become less pronounced with each week that has passed since my surgery. my dr. said it was comon and will disappear over time. im more concern with the way the insision has left me with what looks like a dent .
  4. my dr. has me on 600 to 700 calories a day with no more than 40 grams carbs, 30 grams of fats, and 30 grams of sugars. i am now taking 120 grams of protein{was 70} now that i am exercising harder.i lost 2 weeks of exercise due to knee surgery 12 days after being banded. i eat chicken breast and turkey breast, grilled fish up to 5 oz plus cup of low starch veggies at meals if i can get it down, some fruit juices, i snack on crystal light pops and sugar free fudgsicles . i use nectar whey isolate Protein 0 carbs,0 fat, 24 grams of protein, 100 calories with Water, lastly i been using IDS liquid whey protein tubes{ 42 grams of protein in a 3 oz tube} occasional low sodium light Soups. no bread, no Pasta, no potatoes, no rice and nothing fried.
  5. was banded on 4-7 and went in for my first fill today. i had lost 40 lbs as of 5-15, i was at 0 in my realize band. dr. gave me 5cc in the office and told me to try drinking a cup of Water. at half of the cup i started burping and feeling full and uncomfortable. for past 2 1/2 weeks been working out vigorously 5 days a week and was concerned i wasnt going to be able to keep myself hydrated. he then added that it might be too restrictive so he took 1 cc out. was doing great today but when i came home i finished a can of Soup (15 oz) at 6:30pm then felt full but no burping or hick-up weird bubble feeling. at 9:30pm i felt really hungry and had another can of soup (15 oz) with none of the symptoms i had in the office. does this mean i don't have enough restriction at 4 cc but the right amount when i was at 5 cc and couldn't take a half cup of water? or should i wait until i go back to solid food in 2 days to have a better gauge. sorry in advance if i'm being a bit obsessed
  6. surgery on April 7th. doing good so far , happy with the progress , nice having to get rid of old clothes..... down 40 lbs with 60 to go
  7. not trying to hijack the thread but after reading this i want to order one. i have realize band and no other medical issues {except disapearing obesity} what do i need to put on the bracelet? sorry and thanks
  8. i felt sadness for her children and anger at her and her boyfriend for there selfishness. i just cant believe how many people will do most anything to become famous, i miss the old days of the 90's when people had to have some recognizable talent to be famous or a tv star.
  9. congrats to you
  10. thanks for your insight, i want to keep as much of my muscle mass, make it leaner and build on it. I was worried that as i start to work out again, i will be starving afterwards and start to see my weight increase. funny i feel like a kid on christmas with this oportunity i have been given.
  11. my dr. wanted me to be at 600 to 700 calories a day while on liquids then he said i could drink as much liquids as i wanted from his food list. i think he then said when i went to regular food bring it up to 800 to 1000 or maybe 800 to 1000 net. i havent had a fill but im really not starving like i would have been before the band. there is no way that i could have done liquids only without the band for any extended time. when i do have a blended Soup it's always a low sodium or light vegetable soup. im tracking my food but dont believe it's hi sodium after surgery my dr. said he really got my band on tight. b i'm going to try solid foods in a few days and see how that goes. just really happy to be getting very healthy again. i'm sure my calorie intake will increase because i havent been able to work out or exercise much due to knee surgery two weeks ago. been doing some walking well actually hobbling the past week but have the ok for low impact exercise to start today. its a nice day and time to dust off my bicycle.
  12. your poem really hit home with me. i'm going to post it on the front of the fridge...
  13. great job, one of my goals is to lose 100lbs in a year. good luck too
  14. i was able to donate 4 bags of clothes from the closet this past weekend. was a great feeling. im looking forward to the day in the future when i can donate more? many congrats to you
  15. i didnt diet until a few days before surgery, i saw food everywhere all the time. was wondering if it was just me or is TV predominantly food comercials and shows. took about 1 week post op for me to not be bothered by it. now im so happy about the results from my life change that it doesnt bother me at all to see people eat the stuff that made me obese. however no is allowed to cook bacon in the house anymore
