  1. I have not been on LBT in a few months. Can't get used to the new format. Things are going slowly for me but okay. Christmas was really hard but I also got back on track. I have 8ccs and think I am about at the sweet spot for now maybe .1 or .2ccs more. I want to have plastic surgery so bad but know I need to lose about 30 more lbs and save up some $$$. I've never been too shy about surgery, $$ was always the obstacle. I hope everybody is doing well.

  2. Everyone in my office has noticed and most have commented on my weight loss. Therefore, they make comments like, "she is being so good, that's all she is eating" or "no wonder she is losing weight, she only eats Soup and no fried stuff." I talk about working out 5-6 days a week and journaling my meals (calories) so they seem to take it at that. I have 8 co-workers and only 3 know because the others talk way too much and tell their business and anybody else's they know. A lady in our work system, not our office, had gastric bypass and I commented about her having lost so much weight and one of those "talkative" co-workers stated, "oh, she had gastric bypass." I had no idea, but knew I would never tell her anything personal. I don't know if that lady wanted everyone to know.

Most of us bring our lunch and/or go get it and bring it back to the office to eat, so we are at a table together. When I do go out to eat with co-workers, it is almost always only the ones (3) that know. I only eat out with the other 5 is for a special occasion.

  3. Thank you for posting the pics, they look great. Thank everyone for all the great advice. I actually forgot to add a breast lift and implants. Heck it sounds like I need to just do a body lift. If I had the money I would do it either in March (bandiversary) or next summer. I have met with a consultant ($30) but not the doctor ($70) yet at a minimally invasive clinic. I have an appointment scheduled during the Thanksgiving holidays with another doctor ($100), but I will probably cancel and reschedule later. I think I need to get closer to my goal before seriously considering it (30 more lbs.).

  4. Hello fellow bandsters, I am contemplating plastic surgery. I want to eventually get a TT, arms, and maybe liposuction (when I hit the lottery OR do a little at a time). The only reservations I have about it is elasticity of the skin past 40. Anyone over 40 that has had any PS past 40 PLEASE respond. If I get it done, I want it to look good and last for a long while.

I have lost 50 and want to lose 30 more and 8 months in. Suggestions are welcome.

    Thanks!!

  5. Soy, I hope you do get your mojo back. I have had a few plateaus and they are so hard to get through. I haven't had much real restriction since the first couple weeks after surgery. So Sandi, I haven't felt anywhere near that way in months. I have a lot more in my band than you but still not much restriction. I was so glad to hit the 50 lb. loss mark. I can't wait to lose more. It seems to be going really slowly but hopefully it will stay off forever. Good luck to you both.

  6. Because I failed the last 2 challenges, I was slightly more conservative this time. Therefore, I am revamping my goal for the second time. I originally set it for 5 lbs, then 3 lbs. more, and now I am going for another 1.5 lbs. by Halloween for an even 10 lbs. since Labor Day. I am counting this one as a success finally:biggrin:.

  7. The only person that knows I had surgery is my husband and my best friend and that's all I plan on telling. I think it is no one elses business what I do. There are so many haters and judgmental people out there. There is NO REASON why I have to justify my decision to anybody except my insurance. I don't have steady work at the moment and have only been working temporary assignments through a agency, I gave them a dr note stating I had to be off work. But I got my drs note through the hospital so it was not from a specific dr. The agency asked if I was ok and I said yes and they wanted to be all in my business and ask what kind of surgery and all I said with a smile was, HIPPA Law. ( I think I abbreviated that correctly). I guess I just think differently than others. I use to be skinny most of my life. But when I was getting near 30 I started to gain weight. I have seen the haters on both sides. When I was skinny and I was going out, jealous girls would call me fat! LOL!!! I was 135lb @ 5'10 where was the fat??? Now I'm over 300 and feel self conscious when I go to Godiva chocolate to buy a gift because I'm holding a chocolate bag. All I'm saying is there are always going to be haters and the only person you have to please is yourself! But that is just my opinion. Some people are proud and want to tell everybody.... But if you do, you might as well get ready to explain why...

I am so with you. I have only told my immediate family, best friends (3) and a couple co-workers that won't tell the others. I don't feel the need to tell people. My outlet is here and support group meeting. I may change my mind one day, but for now. I have worked really hard in the gym 5-6 days a week and eaten smaller portions.

  8. I, too did not tell my husband I got the band. I had it done during spring break and my parents took me and I went home with them for the day of surgery and 2 days after it.

My husband definitely likes thicker women, Queen Latifah is his ultimate woman (even before she lost weight). LOL

My husband and I were rocky before the band (married 3.5 years) and will not stay together. We were talking divorce before the band. He has asked me how much weight I have lost, but that's it.
