  1. I will be 3 years post op in September of this year. I have gained 30 lbs which most is from snacking too much in between meals, I'm working hard to get it off. Every calorie counts. I cut out sugar and I'm also doing low to no carb as much as possible. I'm glad u posted this for those that think the weight won't come back. It can if we don't follow a healthy diet. Wish me luck, any ideas will be greatly appreciated. I Started out at 345 pounds got down to 220 and now at 255 lbs. I also started drinking my 64 ounces of Water a day..

  3. Good morning everyone, I had my surgery done Sept 20,2012..I have gained 20 lbs since and I don't know where to start to get it off. I have to admit that I don't exercise. I used to walk at the park but lately I have just been going with the flow eating whatever. I also notice that I can eat more now than before over the last 2 years. Any suggestions on Protein rich foods that can help me stay full longer so that I won't snack as much. Please help!

  4. It will get better..take it slow..give yourself time to heal and take this time to think about the huge accomplishment you made to be healthier..You will be fine, we all had the same thing happen to us..don't push yourself too hard, take your Vitamins, drink as much as you can, the Gatorade is awesome, lick a little salt for nausea and hang in there..you are gonna be so glad you did this..do your sugar free Jello, popsicles, refried Beans and salsa was good, devil egg salad made with yolk only..try to eat something so you'll have strength and in between just sip ur Water or gatorade..rest, rest and rest..For the pain call your doctor and see if they can give you some liquid pain meds.... :) Love ya!

  5. I had a IVC filter placed before surgery by my surgeon before he did my vsg. It was recommended by the pulmonologist during my preop clearance phase because of my high bmi. A bmi 50 or over it's suggested to have the inferior vena cava filter put in. They went in through my groin..no pain..just a little soreness after sugery.but cleared pretty fast. So far so good..it is designed to catch any clots in the large artery before they can travel to the heart and lungs. Can't tell its there. I'm 3 months out.

  6. Girl...just hang on..my husband did the same thing to me..thank God I'm 11 weeks out now.he would fry porkchops..chicken..my mom even kept bragging about potato salad and fried fish!!!!. I wanted to scream..but some don't understand that its torture..lol..I told hubby flat out..close my room door please. Or please don't eat in front of me..after 3 or so times he finally got it..lol be strong girlie u can do it.. Devil egg salad saved my life during mushies made with boiled egg yolk, lite mayo, a lil relish and a lil seasoning..love ya

  7. Yes talk to her and explain how you feel. Sometimes in relationships its easy to shut each other out and forget how to get close again or express how we feel because of hurt..I hope the talk goes well and things rekindle. Wishing you a happy holiday:)

  8. A good choice to edit out the womp womp womp response. Do me a favor honey, don't comment on my posts. You aren't doing yourself any good. I hope for your sake that you don't have the experience I had in your surgery so that you can maintain your lack of compassion for others. I honestly don't want even my worst enemy to suffer a complication story even half as negative as mine was.

Well If you want it here it goes womp , womp, womp!!! Any logical adult would have opted to have this type of serious life altering and threatining surgery at a reputable, accredited HOSPITAL Duh!!!! Go figure..I'll keep you in my prayers..tip of the day lay off the wine..It speeds up recovery.
