  1. i dont remember how soon after but i do have to stay away from carbonation of any sort....really makes my chest hurt so im a vodka/cranberry and wine girl, but watch it,dont need a hangover because trying to throw up hurts something terrible, good luck and have fun on your cruise

  2. even after being banded for over 2 years i still run into this problem.....i can go out to dinner enjoy my meal bring home the leftovers for the next day and i wont be able to get it down, but you did the right thing by resting..... dont force it because it will cause you to throw up which could lead to other complications. i have found that if i wait too long to eat and im really hungry that my band feels tight and im not able to eat at all, also i have problems eating as soon as i wake up in the mornings so i usually wait a few hours before i try any food and if im stressed or having any anxiety it makes it difficult for me to eat. Trust me you will learn over time what is your bands and bodys "normal" and it does take some getting used to

  3. getting the band was a personal decision that i made with my husband, my sister also knows and is very supportive because she has seen me struggle with my weight my whole life. I am very selective with the people i share my decision with because so many people look at it as anegative thing and think its an easy fix, but its not, i do struggle with food at times but i have had to learn over the past 2 years what i can and can not eat. Yes it is discouraging for my husbnad at times but he knows that i am happier and healthier than i have ever been and to be honest with you getting the lapband saved my marriage....all i can say is good luck, follow your surgeons advice and listen to your body

  4. i hit a plateau at 60lbs lost.......maintained for a few months and changed my eating habits just like you mentioned....i work out 5 times a week cardio and strength training and am also very active( riding my bike and walking whenever possible) none of that worked for me then a friend of mine who is a yoga instructor asked me to go to her class, the change of routine did it for me and im back on track and continuously changing my work out routine.....feel better and am seeing more definition and toning than ever before. So now i do extreme cardio 3x a week, light cardio and strength training twice a week and yoga 2x a week in the evening...hope this helps and gives you some other options....just remember never let your body get used to what your doing, muscle confussion is the way to go

  5. i go to the gym around 5 every morning so im not exactly hungry when i leave the house but i do drink a pre exercise supplement called Jack3D, it gives you extra energy and stimulates your metabolism. After my workout( cardio days=1hr, strenght and cardio days=1 1/2 hrs) i sit in the sauna(10-15 mins) and drink my Protein Shake to help my body recover and plenty of Water of course.....breakfast is usually about 8:30 for me, have an awesome recipe for crustless quiche that you can make ahead of time, pop it in the microwave and your good to go thru lunch or early snack time(usually greek yogurt @11:30) ....my band seems to be more restricted in the morning so i tend to eat more mushie food

i use this website alot for recipe ideas, hope it helps you find some good stuff to eat www.personal-nutrition-guide.com, select wt loss surgery on the side tab then lap band diet...Good Luck on your journey

  6. i went through True Results on Main too, but my insurance required me to have the surgery at a facility that could offer in patient assuming i had complications so i had surgery at Memorial SE but i do all of my visits on Main near Reliant.........and Matilda i would love a group or just a couple of people to work out with but im too far from any of you guys and i preferto work out in the early morning

  7. i have a desk job and a very nosey boss, so the day of my surgery(thursday) i called in with a Migraine and went back to work the next day(Friday)....mind you i was very blotted and had my husband drive me to work but i was fine to sit all day. my worst time was at night because i sleep on my stomach which of course was not possible. dont try to lay flat and use lots of pillows when you sleep. just remember to listen to your body. good luck and congrats on the wedding
