Jammin January '07 Bandsters
Have I told you guys lately how much I HATE THOSE DAMN scales? I swear, I want to just kick the living H-E-L-L out of those scales. I swear, I think they have a mind of their own and just wants to taunt me at times. I REFUSE, let me say it again, I REFUSE to stay at where I'm at. I don't care, I will not quit at 170 or 165, I MUST get to my goal. I did not have this surgery to lose just 80% of my excess weight, I had the surgery to lose all 100% of it and thats what I intend to do, no matter HOW LONG it takes. So I will beat those darned stubborn scales, I will do it, they will NOT win. Okay, now that I got my frustration out, I weighed in at 171.5....grrrrr. Last week I was at 167, what the hell? I did have a lot of salt this weekend, lots of sodium I guess, so I'm upping my Water today and the next few days to see if I can flush the crap out of my system. Well, I better get back to work, busy busy busy day today.

I think if you have a slippage, you PB on like EVERYTHING. I think our bands some times are tighter than other times. I reading a site awhile back (forget where I read it) and it said "if you are getting the band, be prepared that your restriction will change, not only day to day, but meal to meal." I find this is soooo true! By the way, made the Peanut Butter Protein balls last night, OH MY, yum yum. Now I am going to have to use some self control so I don't eat the entire batch in one day! Okay, heading off to work .............

The Peanut Butter balls sound soooo good, I'm going to try and make some!!!! I feared a slip band as well, but not so. If you have problems, I would go see your doc. What type of problems are you having? Or are you just fearful? I was so paronoid of it for a while, but not so paranoid any longer. Besides, I rarely rarely rarely PB. I heard a lot of PB would cause it?

Fill #14
No, it is NOT normal. lol. The doc feels I have a fickle band, I feel like he is not good at giving fills. I wonder sometimes if he gives me a fill and the needle is not all the way into the port, because when I go back its always LESS than he gave me, except this last time. I hope i'm there too. So far it seems to be "okay".

Congrats on losing 2 lbs!!!! Here is a few things I plan on eating Day 3 & 4 canned chicken breast mixed with a little spinach dip - tostiodos dip is pretty good 2 TBS is 50 cal (to give it moister and more flavor) tuna salad - tuna mixed with some ff mayo and boiled egg white creamed tuna - i make this with a litty cravy and tuna, sounds gross but really good day 5 - ground hamburger meat seasoned with taco, with cheese and salsa mixed in Hamburger soup - its like a stew but made with hamburger grilled fish grilled chicken, marinated first to make sure its moist Roast - cooked in crock pot all day I don't plan on eating these things all at once and on the same day, just some ideas I thought of. Day 5 is pretty much anything that is good Protein. The trick is to eat ONLY FOR 15 min. Then STOP. Okay, gotta get back to work.

198 - wow congratulations!!!!! I know you are soooo soooo excited! Don't sweat the scale, I would wait and weigh on Monay if I were you. I doubt it will go up much, but just in case it does, this way - you will NEVER see 200 again! I am on day 3 of the pouch test. I am not sure if I might have kinda cheated, but I don't think it was a cheat. We went to lunch today at Chili's, I got a bowl of chicken enchilada soup. I didn't even eat 1/2 the bowl, and I mainly ate the soft chicken out of it....but besides that, I've done really good. For dinner, I'm having some canned chicken mixed with a little spinach dip. yum yum. Are you noticing anything Sula? I seem to be tighter, but it might have to do with my fill I just had. I notice drinking water I have to slow down a lot too. Well, I guess I'm the only weird one that CAN'T throw up. I barely or rarely even PB. hmmmmm. Okay, talk to everyone later.

Fill #14
PS - you can see my weight history too, I usually record it around the 18th of every month (my anniversary date).

Fill #14
I think I hit the sweet spot at fill #6, however, I thought I needed more of a fill because I could still take big bites of food. I couldn't eat much, but I thought I could still take big bites so I must need a fill. Well, my mistake and then I got over filled, TRUST ME, you do not want to do that, its like starting all over again. Anyhow, I am finally back to where I was at fill #6, so I think I might have the sweet spot again. Its still too soon to tell. I have gained some weight when I wasn't filled good, but not too much, about 7 to 10 lbs is the most I have gained, usually stay within a 5 lb range. This is the first time that I don't gain weight, and I love it. I am so happy with my band, despite my fill problems! I am finally losing again and hopefully this fill will take me to goal! I'm only 22 lbs away from goal.

11/10/08 I peed my pants!
lol - your story sounds A LOT like mine. I remember praying they would hurry so I could go pee, it made my eyes water I had to pee so bad. I had to be at 40 BMI or my insurnace wouldn't except me and I was 39.9, but with the help of A LOT of water, I managed to be at 41.9 by the time I weighed in.

Going in Reverse
it is VERY normal to gain after you go off liquids. Some people gain their until their first 2 fills. So don't get discouraged, hang in there and stick to the plan, you will succeed.

My first of many NSV (Non-scale victories!)
Isn't it wonderful to go shopping in your own closet! I loved that! I'm now at the point that I have no more smaller clothes, I have to go buy new ones now. ouch. Congratulations on your NSV'S! PS - I know exactly how you feel when you say "I am already ….um…..more comfortable with my husband". I'm finally to that point too, no more "in the dark" lol.

The time is now.
Hello, welcome the band world. I was banded in Janaury of 2007. I've had my ups and downs, but all in all, I'm very happy with my band. Hang in there you sound like a very strong person and I know you will succeed.

Shrinkin' Violets- Part 2 Read Here
I have a question for you ladies....Can you throw up? I know thats a weird question, but yesterday I got this stomach bug, my entire family did, they were all puken except me. All I could do was dry heave. Then a few months ago, hubby and I went to Nashville and I had too much to drink, i'm a light weight. Anyhow, I got really sick, but I couldn't throw up, all I could do was lay my poor little head over a trash can all night and dry heave. It was not pretty. lol. Just wondering if you guys have experienced this. Since being banded, I cannot throw up, no matter what. I'm not complaining, just curious as to why I can't?

Crockpot
You know everyone in my family calls me the "crock pot queen", lol. I guess because I pretty much cook EVERYTHING in the crockpot. I have three crock pots and sometimes have them all going at once. lol. I cook dessert, bfast, you name it, it goes in the crockpot, even meatloaf. so yummy. Here is some of my favorites: Smothered Meatloaf: Ingredients 4 cups Potatoes O'Brien (recommended: Ore-Ida) 1 pound lean ground beef 1 1/4 pounds ground pork 1 (5.29-ounce) box Garlic Herb shake and Bake (recommended: Kraft) 1 (1.1-ounce) envelope Beefy Onion Soup Mix (recommended: Lipton) 1 (4.5-ounce) jar Sliced Mushrooms, drained (recommended: Green Giant) 1 egg 1 (12-ounce) can condensed Cheddar soup, divided 1/2 cup evaporated milk 1 (10-ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup 1 onion, sliced thin 1 (8-ounce) package sliced fresh mushrooms Directions Place potatoes in the bottom of a 5-quart slow cooker. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, shake and bake, onion soup mix, sliced mushrooms, and egg. Set aside. In a small bowl, stir together 1/2 cup Cheddar soup and evaporated milk. Add to meat mixture. Using a wooden spoon or clean hands mix thoroughly and form into a loaf. Place in slow cooker on top of the potatoes. Make sure meatloaf does not touch the sides of the slow cooker. Stir together remaining cheddar soup with cream of mushroom soup. Pour over meatloaf. Top with onions and mushrooms. Cover and cook on HIGH setting for 1 hour. Reduce the temperature to LOW setting and cook for an additional 5 to 6 hours. I have made it with just beef and left out the pork, still good. I have also made it without the potatoes, its wonderful.

I got my fill yesterday, then came down with a stomach bug. OOOO I was sick. So dizzy too. My entire family had it, and it was coming out both ends. Except for me, all I can do is dry heave. I've noticed since I've been banded I CANNOT throw up. I just dry heave. I've read where others say they can't either. Anyhow, after my fill, it was not long before I started feeling ill. I was a little worried because my fill is pretty tight. Anyhow, I just decided to ride it out, well, I was up a lot thru the night dry heaving, so was my hubby, except he was doing more than dry heaving.....it was an unpleasant night for all of us. My two kids were sick too. Anyhow, feeling much better today, stomach is still in a few knots, but taking it easy. Sticking with soft foods, like protein shakes and creamy soups. Making sure my stomach is healed. Also I am doing the 5 day pouch test since it was the perfect time to start it (since I just had another fill). Had to give up the exercise yesterday and will probably not go tonight either, just not feeling that great. wt - 170.3
